I had the same problem but theyre was dirt in the jets and the floats were stuck. It started pouring gas out the overflow and left me stranded. I had just taken the float bowls off and unscrewed the jets and pilot jets soaked in carb cleaner and used compressed air then replaced the float bowl gaskets. That might be your best bet if you cannot get that dirt loose. I have a 1998 btw

I also have the baffles removed and it pops like that but not sure if i should rejet from 102 main and 40 pilot to something different.
