I like how Makoto's punch actually knocks the enemy high enough into the air that they fall down in time, as opposed to the character's teleporting so they can get in the proper location every time.

That was really cool to see. It's impressive how few use any camera tricks to make them look good in game. I wish there was an in-game option to play this way. Gives the game more of an old school 2d-fighter feel.
Evil Ryu has a cinematic for his Fireball Ultra. Get as close as you can and hold Punches while you do it. It makes them fly back against the edge of the screen.
I love how Dan's dragon punch Ultra, which actually kind of looks impressive with the camera angles, is just as lame as all his other moves when viewed normally.
I'm impressed how many of these are actually correctly timed with how fast they fall. Maybe that's just in comparison to SFV, where it's not even close.
Imagine if somebody was crazy enough to take the time and try to rip these, frame-by-frame and put 'em into Mugen. hahhaha! Well... they'd probably lose their minds halfway through. :\

Personally, I've been involved in the development of one character add-on for the engine: "Chun Li", which incorporated most if not all of her moves from Capcom's "Versus" games (Marvel vs Capcom up to and including Tatsunoko vs Capcom). I stopped development for a number of reasons, mainly because more and more people tended to prefer SF3's gameplay and art style, which I didn't care for. Also because Capcom shifted more towards their side-scrolling 3d engine, which made it next to impossible to grab any useful artwork for importing into Mugen. Those two things....... and because I had a growing interest in other games.... mostly story-driven.

Just remember to walk forward after landing U1 to increase the corner carry. You'll see what I mean. And Adon U1 carries pretty far as well. Loving it. For the projectile Ultras like Dhalsim's U1, Ryu's U1, etc. please put more distance between the characters like you did with Sakura's U1 so we can get a sense of how big the projectiles actually are before they hit.
Got to say, every Ultra from Street Fighter 4 looks great for the most part, like they could work without camera angles. It's the ones from Super onwards that starts to get silly.
There are some that still look fine w/o the cinematic camera, others that would need slight changes, and other that wouldn't work at all (those who wall jump, the move would have to suffer big changes in order to look good). The Gen move were he kicks a lot looks better this way imo.
Man it’s almost like most of these were made for this camera. You look at dbfz and sfv for instance and it is pretty clear without the proper camera angle it looks funny. They look sick either way but i like how in this game most of the ultras look natural like this.
That was interesting. I know they didn't bother making these moves spacially coherent since due to the camera shifts, they didn't have to... but this should be a mode in all fighting games, and it wouldn't actually take much to make most of them work with it!

That was interesting. I know they didn't bother making these moves spacially coherent since due to the camera shifts, they didn't have to... but this should be a mode in all fighting games, and it wouldn't actually take much to make most of them work with it!
