Those first 3 notes… that’s the MSN notification sound.. hell that’s been a long time ago. it’s weird how something so small stays in your brain so vividly
Man just invented chords
So the trick is...he uses reverb! 🤘
yea bro that‘s the only trick just use some reverb and some chords and it will sound like fred again ;D ;D ;D
As someone who learns music production mostly on his own, these short instructions are really useful
Lol I have never heard the words "lush soundscape" and "emotion" do such heavy lifting
By universe of sound you mean a cheap reverb with long decay? Haha
reverb is like the coolest thing ever
I feel like UA-cam shorts are targeted at people who know nothing about the topic
I thought right away that this was sarcasm/a joke but no all of this was strait faced lmao
Judging by how mad people are getting by a pretty quick little trick, I’d agree.
Sometimes I wonder if these shorts are made so that we’ll get angry and spend time in the comments looking for validation while it loops in the background
There's The Brian Eno influence kicks in
Do people actually find this impressive?💀💀
There is an entire market of people thinking they can become the next flavor of the month by getting the latest and the greatest gear, ignoring creativity completely.
"OH, MY IDOL IS USING THIS! I MUST USE IT TOO, I WILL BECOME AS GREAT AS HE IS!"
you're hands down my favorite account to watch. i love learning these little tips for making music
He trained under Brian Eno… this makes perfect sense
its almost like this man invented reverb chords and drones just now
Now sidechain the fudge out of it!
Hold up.. is that the MSN notification sound?
the dude at the end killed it 😂
To perfect this trick apply an automation clip on the "huge reverb" mix and make a ramp up in spaces between the keys (when there are no keys playing).
Duck the automation right down as the keys start playing in the next pattern/section (so it won't be muddy and clash with other keys) and repeat it in your own taste in quiet places for more controlled reverb.
And it sounds way better in my opinion.
P.S: You can make cool short or mid long sweeps using this trick 👌🏽
Ooooh what a genius! The absolute ultimate in "easily impressed".
wow amazing trick, adding reverb WOW
I will thank this video for letting me know about Valhalla. While it downloads I'll let people know about a time when to add reverb post-recording meant playing the track on a speaker down in some tile-clad echo chamber in the studio basement, and recording the results from a mic on the other side of the room.
Big brain stuff 👏🏼😂
a single burial track would literally rot these guy's minds
Thank you so much for your content, it really helps 💞
I have always done this with endless smile way back in 2019
Why it is so inspiring!!!
Videos about music production on yt shorts really try to act like basic techniques are groundbreaking
Bro discovered tertian chords
That shit made my brain tingle 😂
How can this be considered wisdom
Wow reverb?? I never thought of that 🤯
That's so much reverb.
wow this is so crazy.
problem is for every chord change, the preceding notes clash with the next one, if he can only automate each reverb for only one chord at a time
That's the point - the notes 'blur' together to make the reverb drone. They don't clash if the notes are in the same scale 👍
Nah honestly thank you so much ❤
Everyone’s making fun of it but I’m sure there’s plenty of people who didn’t think of this. Creating a pad out of long decay reverb is nothing new but it’s a valuable skill that newbies might not know.
what a trick guys
no one is talking about how he picked the notes from the MSN notification sound 😢😢😢 maybe i'm too old
man discovered chords 😂
That’s amazing
Effects pedals have been doing this to guitars for decades.
What notes are?
Sounds precious
Can you show us the settings on that reverb please?
what piano/sound keys are they, and where do I find them
Lol wait until this guy hears about Flume
What software is this? 👏🏼
been doing this since I came back to production xd
michael norris drone maker is good for stuff like this
What's that Huuuugeeee Reverb? Is that a plugin?
What reverb plugin are you using? Sounds really clean and HQ
What’s the interview?
I thought that was the MSN Messenger sound
Is the huge reverb downloadable?
Just load up a reverb plug in, cut some of the low frequencies and change the decay time to your taste
Reverb and freeze ?
beauty
Wow! Your a genius! That’s some talent right there…
MSN Ping 😂😂😂😂 this is nostalgic
wow you found out what a reverb does
Eno was doing this with super primitive gear in the 70s...
Amazing...
I do this but turn the dry signal down
Mmhmm a full 74 on the huge reverb scale
Wait wait so he plays diatonic notes into a sustaining reverb lammmmeeee
Logic has this on I think chroma verb for those who don’t have the fruit
Wall of Sound 😂👍🏻
Oh, I got a message. Better check MSN.
This vid did not capture at all what Fred Again explained lmao. He’ll take a chop and lay it over various drones to find which one feels the best
Wow ...reverb..
“Ambient drones”
I think people dont understand what the purpose of this technique is. You gotta wait till all the sounds blurr together then use that portion as a new sound
how did he make the snare from the video
Check out this insane music trick!
*Plays chords
Just wait until this guy hears pink Floyd
...that's just how chord progressions work
my brother in christ it's called a pad
No, it’s not a pad. Watch the original interview. This is playing separate notes of a chord into a giant reverb, so the notes ‘bleed’ together, making an ambient drone 👍
Using Valhalla Supermassive as that would be cool i guess
The video in the lower part doesnt even fit the description
MSN where you at
MSN Messenger, is that you?
turning on windows vista
basic music production 👀
Сайдчейн на ручку громкости ревербрации,не, неслышал
Not really tbh. He’s using the portal granular synth to do so
Pls do Jai Paul's btstu
this comment section is ruthless jeez
You could also like you know…turn off the dry… and just have the pad with no dinky keyscroll
Holy shit why don’t I think of these things myself
If you didn’t think of chords and reverb then you should find a new hobby, holy shit…
not even sending it to a bus 😂 jk
oh snap..
This would sound much better if you didn’t let the reverb from previous notes bleed and melt together, then bounced it to audio and cut out the shit sounding synth. Could add it to a sampler and then have a cool sounding pad.
I mean , you mess around with Ableton enough you get cool shit all the time
Yup…regular old reverb…
It’s almost like he’s… making chords
🤣imagine that!
ive never heard anything like it.... 🤣
Yeah this shit is just too experimental for me tbh
@@melocomanTV agreed, back to studying Mozart
@@timi_haze it sounds good but it’s trying way too hard to make this seem unique or esoteric. You just slap on a reverb with a super huge decay. That’s it. Every guitar player with a suitable pedal has done this before.
