I actually just met Tommy Dreamer today he was at a Comic Con in my hometown he signed an autograph and took a picture with my son with his Kendo stick, he was super nice and as someone who grew up a fan of ECW and now sharing my old tapes with my son and now he's a fan is extremely cool
I can tell that this is gonna kick ass already. How am I just finding this? I gotta get my shit together. Met Tommy when ECW was still kicking around and he was so god damn nice. I was just a young little mark and he just blew me away with his kindness. A true legend.
These guys came to Staten Island NY and were fighting in a shithole place. And I would say 75% of the wrestlers met like 300 fans outside in the rain and just hung out with all of us. I always loved these guys just bc of that
Favorite memory of Tommy -- he's fighting Raven, and the audience had brought a bunch of weapons, and the wrestlers would roll out, pick a weapon, bring it back into the ring and use it. By itself, this is a crazy idea. There's a guy with a big cardboard sign, written on it says "TOMMY USE MY SIGN". Tommy brings it in and wacks Raven with it. There is a loud "Blong!", Raven goes down, and Tommy tears the cardboard away, revealing a metal octagonal stop sign hidden in-between the cardboard. Brilliant. I know now it had to be a work, but at the time I thought it was the most sneakiest thing in wrestling ever.
That story in the beginning painted such a pic, I could just see little Dreamer waiting in the snow :( Tommy just seems like an all around great guy, awesome video.
excellent retrospective on one of the true good guys in the business. Puts his heart & soul into eveything he does & he deserves all the praise possible. I was a huge ECW fan and I had a.very bad reaction when it was going out & I dissed Tommy & to this day I regret it but I know in my heart it was emotions getting the best of me & I didnt mean it To say I have a new found respect for Tommy after watching that wouldnt be true in fact I respected him all along. And a 59 yrs old Im as big a fan now as I was back then! Thanks Tommy!
Scott Druyan 👏👏👏 Well said!! He truly is a Legend in the wrestling world. I love watching the old ECW matches.. it's like a little trip down memory lane :)
I LOVE Tommy Dreamer's BOB BACKLUND story! Dreamer was once one of those young fans Bob didn't want to disappoint by turning heel in '83 when Vince Jr. wanted him to! Bob must have really been in a hurry that day 'cause he loved his young fans! It was good of him to make up for the "snub" years later!
As a fan of wrestling since the late 80s, HUGE ECW fan in the mid to late 90s, I learned it was obviously fake pretty quickly bc of fighting with 3 Brothers every single day. Watching matches, and recreating them. But I had a totally different kind of respect for these guys at a very young age. There was no way getting hit with a chair, thrown thru a table, even a 50% punch or kick to the face, there's a never a time where it doesn't hurt. And these guys get up 365 days a year and take a beating, with no pads, or helmets or protection. Love You Tommy Dreamer, have always been a fan since I saw you for the 1st time on ECW. Much respect to all you guys for doing this for so long. And always representing the business the right way
Thanks for watching the shows! I’m working on another season of Retrospective (lots of Pro Wrestlers coming out way) look out for teasers on Twitter and Instagram. Cheers
Tommy is enigma to me. He does not give enough credit to how much Raven and him shaped wrestling. He thinks his angles with Jerry Lawler and others were more important. They paid him better, I get that, but no one brought more interest to their makeup then his relationship with Raven.
Just met Tommy a few hours ago at the Brooklyn Navy yard Horror Con - couldn’t be a nicer guy- spoke about everything from his career to issues within wrestling ( no union) ect- was a cool moment
I truely respect Tommy Dreamer for his contributions made to professional wrestlings evolution but does anybody else look at Tommy Dreamer with just a depressing guilt? Just feel sorry for him tbh
So story time a couple years ago I met Tommy Dreamer at a show in jhonstown pa at the war memorial and Tommy was the nicest guy I ever met and have me a free autograph and picture then I went to Jake Roberts and he pretty much told me to fuck off I was 10 then a year later I met Mick foely in a hall way at a wrestling show and we talked for about 15 min about the show and about his first book
Because he knows the trick of doing it without carving himself up, all it really takes is a tiny slit, or a tiny prick right above the eyebrow, you don't have to carve yourself up like a Christmas bird! There are plenty of guys and gals who have gigged a thousand times and don't have those grizzled vet scars!
Wahts the retrospective of a WWE guy say " Yeah you know it was pretend but I still consider myself to be a real fighter. I take so much roids I can bearly move and I still manage to get injured even though its not even a real fight , I still hurt myslef . "
There is nothing fake about getting caned 10 times or taking chair shots to the head. I don't think any MMA figher would be willing to go trough that pain.
NostalgiNorden thank you!! This man has suffered broken neck, pectoral area and so many other injuries. It's so crazy how people think these injuries are fake. Their doctors bills are REAL.

Nah. I was there. He said 'I'll see you next time, kid.'
Tommy Dreamer.... The Rocky of Pro Wrestling!!!!!!!
Agreed

Tommy was so nice to me. A true gentleman in the wrestling business. What a great guy.
That’s cool👍

I remember the caning incident well. Absolutely brutal.
What do u mean?
@@gavindoak2439 Sandman caned Tommy 10 times across the back in ECW back in 1994.

This retrospective is still one of my favorites almost makes me feel like a friend of his on how open he is with the stories of his career and life
Tommy is a good guy. He actually replied to a few messages I sent to him on Twitter. Love to listen to hear him on Busted Open on Sirius XM.
Tommy Dreamer is a class act, awesome video.
Raven is underrated as hell!!!
This is Amazing!!! Thank you Tommy Dreamer for Everything you did for Wrestling
My introduction into wrestling this guy is why I fell in love with it.
As a fan of wrestling since the late 80s, HUGE ECW fan in the mid to late 90s, I learned it was obviously fake pretty quickly bc of fighting with 3 Brothers every single day. I would love to see a Retrospective with The Sandman.
Thanks for watching the shows! I’m working on another season of Retrospective (lots of Pro Wrestlers coming out way) look out for teasers on Twitter and Instagram. Cheers
I once ran across a video of a wrestling seminar with the Sandman as the teacher. It was hilarious lol.
That would consist of Sandman getting drunk, bashing people with canes and yelling unintelligible nonsense.
I want that.
Make sure to use the subtitles.
We are from Baltimore and were there! Good ole Days!
Tommy Dreamer life reminds me of the stories little brothers say about older brother but true
Thank you Tommy
GOD BLESS THIS MAN
Get sabu in here!
The most loyal ecw icon

Innovator of violence Tommy dreamer, Wrestling legend no ecfnw doubt about it

Tommy vs Raven has to be the longest, if not one of the wrestling feuds in history
That tan though

This man is such a force and is SO passionate about wrestling. He is dedicated to his fans and the business. I love this so much
Tommy dreamer is like this comment section and that’s rare. No bullshit and all true comments about him.

How doesn't have more views wtf
I never realized how much Dreamer looks like The Dream Machine Troy Graham did in his later years.
How many time you do think Dreamer has bladed?
Tommy dreamer the original dad bod dad's should realistically strive for
Where's season 2??
Joey STYLES oh my god
I truely respect Tommy Dreamer for his contributions made to professional wrestlings evolution but does anybody else look at Tommy Dreamer with just a depressing guilt? Just feel sorry for him tbh
What year did raven debut ?
January 95' i believe
Heyman called raven vinces lacky ironic 😅
Tommmmmmmmmy !!!!
😊😊😊
Great rivalry vs raven in ECW
Tommy deserves the HOF, hurry up vince.
Tommy Dreamer wasn't a wrestler. He helped bring in the era of wrestlers really hurting themselves, but the fans don't believe the wrestlers are hurt.
fjvideo this makes no sense but ok
fjvideo umm he IS a wrestler. Not sure how you come up with that when he STILL wrestles to this day.
He didn't wrestle. He fought.
fjvideo respectfully, he did BOTH...and I still work with him to this day in HOH...
Kevin James lost a lot of weight

Phil dreamers fake tan of tears :-)
That spray tan is horrid
I would of told Bob to.shove his fucking signature thats no way to.treat a fan or a kid for that matter
How doesn't this man have more gig marks on his head?
