I worked in all 3. Each one is having it is own value. SAS is expensive. Python need little coding knowledge. Useful when you make model compare with R
"Hi, SAS Enterprise Miner is indeed used for accurate predictive and descriptive models on large volumes of data across different sources in the organization."
Good and nice summary. Thanks for sharing. Re "SAS has a GUI". Sure. But you will never cross the street with that. It will be about five minutes after installation until you realize that you need to learn the SAS programming language, i.e. DATA step and PROCs. Most everything you can do in SAS you can do in Python - for free. With 20+ years of experience in all 3 of these unless your organization already has SAS licensed, no need to get one :) starting out use Python, most jobs are in that.

I am not a software developer, and coding is not my best of abilities, but I have managed to learn R without any difficulties. IIndeed, there is a steep learning curve, but the syntax of R is completely logic and consistent. Due to Institutional requirements, I have recently started to learn SAS and I could not agree more with you. SAS language is NOT easy to learn and it is full of arbitrary and inconsistent syntax (which is really hard to learn). I am really struggling to grasp some basics in SAS. Or SAS is an orthodox and outdated way of doing things, or its is obfuscation by design.
The Level of Difficulty to learn R, Python or SAS depends purely on your knowledge about programming. If you’ve a IT background or studied any programming language like C, C++ or Java, any language will be easy to grab on. In terms of time, R and SAS will require proper tutorials and certification programs to excel in the area with prior experience in IT industry will definetly benefit you.
@@luispotro SAS was invented in the late 1960ies, commercialized in the 1970ies. The world has moved on since, SAS has not. So yeah, it is pretty outdated. Ps. Recently I got lectured by a SAS rep on how modern SAS is these days. He stated that they now offer Python 'natively' and that SAS in his view had become really open source focussed. I looked into it. Turns out they have built a layer on top of their old tech which offers a Python binding. It's still the same old inside though. A little bit like putting an old car's engine into a Tesla and call that an electric car.
I see R has an oddly low use in Marketing and Finance (wiz what I concern with) Industries. Why so ? And why is SAS on par with Python and most importantly how can it be more prominent than R in those crucial departments. Basically a short SAS Vs R reply in Finance Industry will do. Ty.
I personally think R is easier to learn. A lot of things that you need to write loops for in python, you can accomplish with a simple line of code in R
Superb analysis But what about the current scenario, is SAS still in good position or it goes high in demand after pandemic? Or it's value Goes down in graph ? Hope u reply sooon .

The most comprehensive comparison DS tools between R, Python, and SAS. It is very useful for me. Great Job! Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!

SAS is very prevalent in large traditional companies. I work for a large bank and I couldn't avoid it even if I tried.

Will SAS enterprise miner is used for data science and predective analysis??

SAS Enterprise Miner is indeed used for accurate predictive and descriptive models on large volumes of data across different sources in the organization."
when do you find time to create a lot of quality content. Thanks for sharing.
We have a research and content team who makes the contents regularly. Thanks.
very well done! it sucks im stuck learning SAS in university but lets be honest Money money money is the key to universities and what they teach :(
Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for.
Amazing video. Thanks for the great info & summaries.

Very nice and balanced video. I hope in a couple of years you can put Julia to the top 3, too. :) (Actually R is a very high level language.)

No, this video wasn't meant to promote any particular language. Thanks.
