Hi Lidia! Loved the pieces you showed. About pilling and just for saying, even cashmere that is the most expensive and premium wool pills specially in areas that rub. It's indeed a natural process caused when the fibres in the yarn rub against each other and form small balls. I know it's very annoying but ...

Hi Sandra, thank you! Oh yes, wool does it at some point, it’s just the natural aging process. But 1 wear…that’s really absurd to me. None of my other Sézane jumpers have pilled in such a short time. Especially Merino wool. Cute jumper, but I don’t see it lasting long unfortunately. But good to know it’s authentic :D

I feel the same about the boring fall collection so far. I look the best in florals since I have more curved facial features and I am a bright spring color season so I just flat out can’t wear much of anything they put out yet. I could wear some bright ecru sweaters, that would be ok, but not beige or things with a lot of straight lines like stripes and plaid. They just released a print today that is a hybrid between floral and stripes so I ordered the pants to see. I am thinking there will be more florals and prints later, maybe in November or something.
I agree with you about the body type issue. Every brand seems to cater to a specific body type and it can be hard to find one that caters to your shape and also the style of clothes you want at the same time. Usually it is good to just shop brands that fit you correctly but that can be disappointing when you really like the look of brands that are not compatible with your body shape. Sézane clothes all seem to be made for the “kibbe dramatic” body type, so really straight and tall and thin. I think that’s why people generally talk about sizing up with their pants, because the body type the clothes are made for has narrower hips than shoulders. It is also a body type with not much curve in general. People always talk about hemming the pants, but again the body type the clothes are made for has long legs usually. It seems to be a common body type in France and I am genetically part French and have this body type as long as I am at the correct weight for my height… but if I gain a little bit it, most of it goes to the lower body and then my pants won’t fit anymore. When they use models who are bigger, the outfit is often clipped in the back to give the illusion of fitting properly in photos etc but it doesn’t really fit them. There isn’t really a way to cater to where everyone holds their weight so instead the clothes are basically just scaled up for women who are still lean but just have larger measurements. On the other end of things, they also do not even offer a size 32 in many items, so if the size 34 is too oversized on something, I just can’t even get those items. I’m not short at all but I have a small frame so if I get particularly lean there are basically no brands that have my size anymore.

Hi, thanks for your thoughtful comment and for watching the video! I agree, they released some nice basics but lacked “personality pieces.” While leopard print and stripes are great, I miss more geometric shapes, abstract patterns, florals, and appliqués.
Sézane does well with inclusive sizing in the French market, but they need to adjust sizes beyond s-m-l to fit different body types. This collection seems to follow trends rather than set them, with cuts for thin, straight bodies. It reminds me of the 2000s when shopping often left me feeling less confident, even when I was thin.

@@thelidiaedit I definitely see a lot of people wanting them to make a curve line, the question is whether they have any interest in doing that. So far I haven’t seen any indication of it. Eventually a lot of people may give up and not buy from them anymore because of alterations costs or not being comfortable because it isn’t the right shape for them. Even on size 34 skirts, the waist does not go in enough, like it runs big there vs the hips. Measurement wise should be an inch or two smaller than it actually is to line up with the size chart. I have a couple pairs of corduroy pants from last fall, size 38, and never wore one of them because the cut was very straight and I hadn’t started working out yet so I just kept them to have altered later.. now the butt/thigh areas are good but the upper area of the waist and hip is very very loose. I’m going to have to try to have them remade to be more tapered in at the top like the 70’s pants, those are the cutest ones IMO.

@@HeatherHasGame changes are always slow to come in place, especially on corporate levels and especially in this type of industry, where we have collections plans and production in progress now for 2026. One thing I've always found is the game-changer is when the product development team isn't 100% blonde (real ones, not like my Italian fake blonde ahhah), white and skinny. So I hope more and more brands have a diverse team, and start implementing those changes now, so that in two years we all feel more heard :)

My red jumper does the same. I got it directly from Sezane.

It seems like maybe the person that sold it probably wore it around with the label before reselling it. The merino wool is quite delicate for that sweater!

Do you think so? It seemed new and label not tampered with. It’s just not great though it looks so

I have the same jumper in rusty orange tone and it is pilling like crazy. You were not scammed, this is just a type of wool they used to make it. Very soft and pills very easily.

Hi, thank you for clearing that up for me ❤️ - it’s incredible, my Betty’s 100% merino and doesn’t do that. None of my knits had done that before. I don’t think it’s high quality, but I’ll use it until I can because it does look pretty 😂

Hi Lidia, sorry to hear about the potential scam on Vinted! I often sell and buy Sezane pieces there, and I’ve never experienced anything like that. I’ve been eyeing the Hugo jumper in Ecru, but after watching your video, I’m a bit unsure about the quality now. Also, could I ask what size you got for the new black Livie belt? I’m looking at one on Purple Lak but can’t decide on the size. I wear a mix of high- and mid-waist pants and would prefer not to have to buy two belts for different fits, but it might come to that.
Regarding Sezane, I’d be disappointed too if they shift towards the minimal chic trend. I love Sezane for its bohemian, chic French aesthetic-the florals, the romantic vibe. If I want neutrals and straight cuts, I go to COS. I feel like brands like The Row, Toteme, and Khaite are getting a lot of attention lately, not just from consumers but also luxury houses, which makes me wonder if Sezane is trying to tap into that trend. I hope not though!
By the way, did you shoot this video with your new camera?

Oi Mari! Me neither, this is the first time. Some Sézanettes said it was authentic so who knows? 😅 but this the Diego jumper, and it’s no longer available. You’re safe with the Hugo. I got the Livie in 95 ;)
Ahah I mean, basics are still needed, but I don’t think they should be all my wardrobe. Everyone needs some pieces to express their personality. For me those pieces are the same you mentioned.
No, this was taken with my phone. I tried again with my camera today and it went a little better 🤞🏼🤞🏼
