The scene where Fink just breaks down in tears when Roz has to leave was so well-acted, to the point where it legit got me crying. Every voice actor absolutely killed it in this movie, but Pedro Pascal and Kit Connor were the standouts to me.

@@nuage6230 Not really. When Brightbill says "I thought you were my family" in the scene where he blows up on roz, he was only talking about her. And everyone else in the film including Fink only ever say"her kid", not "their/our" kid. Fink is more of a family friend/uncle figure than his dad.
I seriously need to give a round of applause for Pedro Pascal for his performance as Fink because he really knock it right out of the park! His voice blends so well with Fink’s clever and cunning personality that if you didn’t even look at the cast or not seen any promotional material for the movie, you might not even recognize that was the Mandalorian or Joel from The Last of Us playing as a fox. (The same can be said for the rest of the cast who are seriously talented as well!) Fink is definitely one of my favorite characters in the movie and his relationship with Roz and Brightbill is so wholesome and sweet.
If I had a nickel for every time an anthropomorphised fox has been written as a sly, witty, and clever but kind-hearted characters and an instant classic, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's funny that it happend three times.
Adult Tod is more nice and sweet to put it that way, but I guess he could belong in the same category when he was trying to show off in front of Vixey.
Although it's played for comedy, Fink's attempts at parenting Brightbill the same way his mother did for him evidently shows what a bad childhood he's had.
3:08 - I still can’t understand how THAT did not end the fight!! With all those animals in such a tight space, they should’ve all be coughing and gasping for breath! Yes, Pinktail, the Momma Opossum complained about it being “smelly” when the skunk sprayed. But yet, not 2 minutes after it sprayed, not a single animal was complaining about the smell! As if it faded away so suddenly; as if it didn’t even happened. Not to mention that not a single animal gave Fink an exasperated “You stink!”!!
Also, I guess DreamWorks thought that Fink shouting “QUIIIEEEEEEEEEET!!!” to stop the fight would be too cliche! They decided to make it more funny with a simple “SHH!!” from a little otter. But still, how did THAT even work?!?!? 😂

Ngl, I haven't watched that many movies/shows with Pedro Pascal in it, only The Last of Us, some clips of the mandalorian, and this movie, but my god he's a really talented actor and voice actor. I was so confused when I learned that Fink was played by him because his voice is much more playful and snarky, while in TLoU he was a grumpy old man who lost everything. The difference is just insane. Him and Bella Ramsey become some of my favorite actors with the huge range that they have. Also, funny how both played as Joel and Ellie respectively.

I never read the original book but I heard that Fink had a much smaller presence within the story, he was prominent in only like 2 chapters overall. I’m curious to know why they wanted to expand his character from the original source material.
As a reader of the series, can confirm he’s a background character like all the animals. The series is mostly about Roz and Brightbill. I’m sure they wanted to add a character that could make people laugh and picked him. It was a good choice. I saw the movie first and was excited to read the book, being let down that Fink was a background character. Still loved the books though.
