I enjoy watching these. Never been to Blackpool. I am so tired of all these Magic Claws appearing everywhere! I don't think they have much character and all seem generic. The sound and melody they play really grates on me and the quality reminds me of polyphonic ringtones or MIDI tracks. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I prefer a muted Magic Claw lol, at least attract muted. When units close by all play the attract (which goes on forever), it all clashes and sounds awful. I much prefer Elaut and Instance claws I have a feeling in a few years we are going to see mass scrappage when these Magic Claws begin to fail due to build quality, or see units still operating in poor condition. Looking forward to future episodes!
It’s clear that Magic Claws are built with very poor quality so you’re right, give it a few years and a lot of them will probably be scrapped. It’s certainly a short sighted view from arcades that have scrapped EX1s for these, most of which have seen over 20 years of service. Magic Claws will not last that long!
@@McPizzaPerson Agreed! EX1s (and Maxx Grabs) are still going strong in places where they have looked after them. The longevity of Toppers and Megas is still to be beaten though. I think the fact they were mostly metal and glass with parts that could easily be replaced (or retrofitted) is what contributed to their long lifespan. These new, more modern cranes have plastics which I can see breaking along with built-in LEDs which maybe cannot be replaced (at least not easily) once they go. I bet the boards will not last long either! Elaut and others need to start being more competitive on pricing to prevent this Magic Claw (and similar) takeover.
