I love you’re thought on VR and mixed reality, I’m looking forward to a good mixed reality solution, but I’m in my mid fifties so the odds are I’ll be too old to make use of it when the technology finally reaches maturity😀
"I don't get sick in VR" is a good way to find yourself sick in VR the next few go's. I have been using VR since 2013 and Boneworks kicked my ass in 2019 for one play sesh. Haven't been sick since, but I was a tad too cocky...
Yep they seemed to have deleted it entirely. I figure they were probably messing around in the A10c II cockpit lua's implementing the new ARC-210 radio
this whole build is beyond amazing man -- wow just found out about you from growling sidewinder - hope you guys do some more missions together! PS thanks for going into the nitty gritty details of what it takes to operate - various checks/systems. wild for a civvie to see
Can you get a 4k camera for cockpit camera please? Even at 1080p your head cam is quite blurry. Or maybe try upping the bit depth, but utube tends to mess with that.
I would have to turn off the terrain warnings...drive me crazy...I'm not flying a jumbo jet fer sh*tsakes!. And I could build you a 6-dof motion base that would incorporate the projectors and screens.
how sharp is the picture from your perspective? It's hard to tell from the video. Great setup though. Had a look at your website, you've certainly put in the time and effort, great stuff
Looks like an app similar to TACVIEW... and technically, it's cheating. It's letting him view the real-time position of everything on the server, and I'm quite certain it is not just showing him the datalink from AWACS; it's straight from the server data.
@@bronco5334 lol it aint cheating. It's just the web based GCI for that specific PVE server. Plenty of servers provide one, and the admins can set it up to display anything they want, just like the F10 map. atwar.online/gawgci.php
@@thewarthogproject Ah, yes, I see. Having complete, unfettered data access in an aircraft that does not have the capability to receive that data is not cheating. Whether the server allows it or not, it *is* cheating. Many games include cheat modes. They're still cheating. Eagle Dynamics built an invulnerability mode right into the game, but it's still cheating to use it.
@@bronco5334 Boss man the A-10C II does have a data link (the same Link-16 that the AWACS, F/A-18c, and F/A-16c use) I dont know if that is modeled properly in game (I dont own it to test) but either way the link he shared to access his "cheats" are literally hosted by the server hes playing on
I did try that, but the track ir software keeps crashing if it was paused for too long. Everytime I wanted to turn it back in I had to alt tab and restart.
@@thewarthogproject ah bummer man, thats too bad I sometimes leave mine paused all day and forget about it and that doesnt happen to me. I wonder why thats happening to you
@@thewarthogproject Did you try setting up dead zones in track IR? You could set your left/right yaw dead zone to not move the track IR camera until you rotate your head left/right by 45-90 degrees or whatever you decide you need. You can also create a dead zone that will prevent track IR from even being able to look down at all, as in you can look down at your pit and track IR will never move. I've never used a projector simulator set up but it seems like track IR should work with a proper profile.
I got no problem with not taking an A10 to contested airspace, my problem is they want to take F35 and tankers to do the same job and people use that as an argument for the f35.
If i had that screen i wouled definitively want head or eye tracking just so i could look up/down and back without a button. Whate are your thoughts on it? Planning to get some or do u not need it? Really curious.
This was filmed before the IC update. For some unknown stupid ass reason the cockpit.lua has now been added to the IC checks, so no more flying for me (or any other cockpit builder) on these servers anymore. It a damn shame, but thats ED for you...
@@thewarthogproject yeah that figures... I'm relatively new to simpits and I started exporting viewports like a month before the IC check update. Well for being a UA-cam content creator i think pimax 8k or track ir is much better than this setup .. i know for personal casual use you can enjoy it but for youtube not so good as you can't capture the true graphics with go pro .. in reality it feels good for the pilot but for youtube it doesn't give you that satisfaction plus its very nausratic when he moves his head around .. I won't recommend it for a youtube creator but for personal use only nothing is better than this setup
I forgot to mention- The tablet is not running any specific app, It's just a web browser showing the servers GCI- atwar.online/gawgci.php
A-10C Warthog with a beer holder. Legendary.
Nothing is anything without a cup holder.
Well there goes my weekend plans, wanted to fly into contested airspace.
The insane part for me is that dcs is 14 years old. I honestly cant believe it
I can believe it. The optimization is horrendous.
@@beanieteamie7435 this guy gets it
"getting live-leaked" is my new favorite expression lmao
In rare cases, Insanity can produce beautiful things.
Unlucky, the A-10 has never had a reputation for being on the receiving end of friendly fire.
I'm sure this looks far better in person. Awesome setup I'm sure there were some headaches lol

oh man i thought the canopy switch was something up with MY setup, not an actual bug! good to know i don't have to try to track that down!
Looks better then real life

Nah I've been flying DCS in VR since Rift CV1. Most of the time I'm also drunk. Hasn't got me yet!
@@thewarthogproject always a good time watching your streams. Cheers bud.
I was playing this in the background until I heard the beer conundrum happening. Props to you sir for satisfying your needs mid flight.
Wow!! That looks incredible!! I thought you were flying IRL for a bit.
This setup is crazy!! I'll take one please
Love your projector setup. It’s so seamless. Awesome setup. I’m assuming the a-10 is your favourite jet
the price to build this... thats actually better than I thought.
Been here before, but had to visit again after the Collab with GS. Hoping to see more collabs with him lol
What an absolute legend.😅
The canopy closing issue also affects DCS-BIOS. A DCS-BIOS connected switch can only select the open or middle position, not close.

Makes you wish that Australian defense force got A10s :)
all you're missing is a platform that moves with the plane, that would be sick
bro has a high power bill
MANPADs are an issue for anything flying low tbh
You should start getting people on a guided tours to your place, man! I'm happy to pay for that if your in Melbourne! :)

How is it compared to VR? I mean the depth perception particularly? Is there a way to also add the top view of the aircraft?
Late to the fun due to flying my TIE Defender into combat against Rebel scum challenging the might of the Empire

how many years did it take to get your sim to this state??? and do you ever have any regret to not doing another aircraft?
About ten years. And nope, no regrats.

Get a VR set instead of the projectors
No point in having that cockpit then.
Don't fly mp on Caucasus there is where all the noobs are.
