I dont think owners are being irresponsible, people do have to work and have to leave them at home. Dogs get bored and therefore will tear your crap up!! Just because you gotta leave them at home alone for work doesnt mean they are bad owners and shelters are flooding from people abandoning them and abusing them.
You shouldn't have a dog if you have to go to work and they're left all alone. Dogs shouldn't be left by themselves for four hours maximum and Italian Greyhounds particularly don't like to be left all alone.

Clearly this dog is kept housebound. All that energy and frustration has to go somewhere. People are often uneducated about animals but get them anyway. The pounds are at capacity from irresponsible humans.
I don't think they are being irresponsible, people do have jobs and animals get bored!! Jist because they are left home alone for a while doesn't mean the owners are bad people.
