In a lot of ways X-T30 ii is just a 100v in a different body with an interchangeable lens. With a kit lens it's $100 cheaper and features the same sensor and processor, it even has the same film simulations. I can't believe people are willing to spend $2k on a 100v when the X-T30 ii exists.
@nunezinkgaming OK, just buy the X-T30 ii body and then a F2 or even F1.4 lens separately. It'll probably still be cheaper and a more versatile camera.
Thank you for the review Eric. I am a Sony FF photographer and picked up the XT-30II as a simple EDC/Travel option. Having never held a Fuji in my life, I am finding this to be a wonderful experience. I really enjoy this little dynamo and it fits my "casual" needs perfectly. The Godox TT350/Flashpoint Mini is an excellent alternative for on-camera flash while still keeping the entire package small and light.
Great short review. For the past six months, I have been waiting for Fuji to bring the successor of the X-E4 to no avail. I don't have a digital camera, my primary camera is a Canon AE1 Program that I bought in the 80s, and I also have a Yashica 124, which I love so much. Still, the prices of film and developing color film are outrageous in this economy. So I decided to jump into the digital realm. My budget was $1,000. I am a retiree from the US Marshals, and my combined pension, 401k, and Social Security make my life comfortable. After months of watching UA-cam reviews (I settled on the Fujifilm X30, X100T, and the X-E3), I eliminated the X30 due to the 12 MP. Although I loved the little camera, I also scratched out the X100T cause it was a $1,000, although in mint condition, and eliminated the X-E3 because I had to add another $400 for the lens. Yesterday I hit that dreadful add to the cart and bought it, so in about a month, I am getting a new XT30II with the XC 15-45. Great review.
I have the XT30II with the 18-55mm and the 35mm f2. Absolutely love it! Chose it over the XE4 mainly because of its looks. I got the hotshoe thumb grip and that eliminated the Q button issue. Awesome little camera 👍

Great points. Ive been torn between the x-e4 and x-t4. but i have left the x-t4 thought, i mostly was leaning towards it because of weather sealing. But this camera does seem like a very good companion! Thank you!
Best option at present is the Fuji X-T30ii or the X-S20 most others are well over a grand body only and used prices are extremely strong, many long discontinued X-A models selling around their new price and just above and some newer models selling for a good bit more than they are selling in the shops due to limited availability. I had to order and wait a month for my X-T30 ii. One other option is a new old stock X-T10 if any are still around anywhere or an X-T1 or X-T2 as especially the X-T1 can often be around the same price used as an X-A series.

My first Fuji was the X-T10. Loved it. It was mostly paired with the 18-55 and 23mm f/2. It was the perfect travel setup when we went to Ireland. I sold it for the X100F, which I don't regret. I have a Nikon Z fc now, but sort of miss the smaller Fuji lenses. I use the Voigtlander 23mm f/2 native Z moiunt on my Z fc and it is a wonderful setup. Since I don't NEED a new camera right now, I'm holding out to see what comes out next. Still eyeing the Leica M10-P, though. :D
For me most annoying thing is card/battery placement. When you're shooting on tripod and you need change card or export something you have to take it off every single time because lid is blocked.
I currently have the X-H1 and it's a great camera but I've been eyeing the X-T30 II for the upgraded sensor, added film sims, and smaller size. Just can't decide if those are enough to warrant the cost. Especially when I already have 3 Nikon DSLRs and a Sony A6000. 🙂
I recently pulled the trigger and grabbed a used Xt30ii bundled with a 35 f/2 for a bargain. Though I prefer the rangefinder body style of the X-E and XPro bodies, the Xt30 is just functionally what I need. I've already found the auto switch to be lifesaving when passing it over to a family member to take shots, and the ability to add a grip to make it more comparible in size to an X-t3 makes the bigger lenses less of a problem than I thought. I think with the prices being so close now between the xt30 and xt3, the only real difference that would sway me to go over to the xt3 is the weather sealing and the side tilting screen. Otherwise the xt30 does everything I need it to do.
Is it only my experience that the exposure compensation dial is very tight to turn? Also, I end up pushing the function which is in front of it all the time..
What would be the benefit of going for an X-T30 Mk II over a used X-T3? A while ago I had an X-T2 and X-T20, but kept the X-T2 for the additional dial. I’ve recently went back to Fuji with a silver X-T3.
