    I know this video is kind of old but I watched another video like this and she forgot to mention what kind of printer you need. To transfer the picture to your puzzle, you have to make sure your printer is a sublimation printer which uses a different ink than a regular printer. Sublimation printers allows you to transfer pictures to things with heat. That ink from the printer works like a dye which allows you to transfer images to cardboards, shirts, cups, etc.
    This is probably why your images aren’t transferring. Hope this helps!

    Have you tried making your own custom cut sublimation chipboard puzzle blanks? An electronic cutter such as the Intec SC5000 can handle upwards of 1,000 custom cuts on the fly per hour. It also handles creases so you can make the custom printed boxes to put these custom cut puzzles into them. With that sort of machine all you need is a flatbed sublimation printer to print directly onto the chipboard you desire to cut. It will greatly improve your workflow.
    The Intec cutter reads QR codes in the corners of each print job. These are outside the design area for the art. So even if you load the paper wrong or skewed it can still read the QR code, jog the paper, make corrections for human error, and load the appropriate cut/crease files per image scanned. All this happens in a mere few seconds. The catch tray allows a person to gather the processed materials for easy peasy punch outs of the cut/creased materials.
    Now for this sort of project you wouldn't have had the thin border at the edge of the puzzle had you simply scaled the image large enough to fit your material. But if it were a custom cut blank there would be no need for all the extra steps you went through. Simply print the image to the blank, choose the appropriate template, and send it to the cutter. Of course you will need to spend time making templates in advance. Because unlike craft oriented digital cutters like the Brother Scan 'N Cut the cameras on the commercial cutters aren't meant to be used as onboard optical scanners.
    With my Brother Scan ' N Cut I could have scanned the printed material, personally altered the size of the cut file to fit the image (on the cutter itself), and then send it to cut mode. It will tell me how long the cut process will take and so I can go do other stuff until it is done. Granted the crafter oriented cutting machines tend to use sticky mats, are a fair bit slower than commercial level machines but this machine has so much more going for it in certain respects. Why I'd say you could just get several more Brother Scan 'N Cuts to accommodate material up to 12x24 inches. Not as fast as the Intec machine I spoke about but not as costly either ($3,300 for one machine vs $400-$1,000 for one DX series Brother cutter).
    I'm using my DX series Brother cutter to make custom cut 500-1890 piece jigsaw puzzles from letter sized materials. I've also been designing custom puzzle shapes that I can scale to meet the size of the printed material to be cut. You don't even have to use traditional jigsaw shapes when making puzzles. I store my cut files on a USB flash drive which I can attach to my cutter for simple access to complicated designs that may be too big to store in the machine's internal storage.

    Hi, beautiful grandson! Nice instructional video. I know this video was done a long time ago. The only thing I can see that you may want to correct in case there is someone not watching closely. As you showed the instructions on your site, you said exactly opposite of what was written and when you were pressing the puzzle, there was yet another contradiction. I knew what you meant but some may do it wrong from not paying attention. Sometimes we kind of watch and really listen as we work along with the videos. We all do this from time to time. Your videos are great so keep up the good work! God Bless

    I have a question, I went and bought a regular puzzle form awhile back thinking I could somehow put a picture on it, now i do not have sublimation at all do you know a way to put a picture on this and cut it to be the same as the puzzle form, like using sticker paper putting it on puzzle form and then somehow cutting it. could you use an exacto knife or do you think if i took a picture of the puzzle itself and uploaded it to design space put picture over it splice it would it then cut the picture the same as the puzzle form and then somehow attach it to the form. Or do you know if their is a ytube video showing how to do this or is it not possible.

    I followed the instructions, and didn't come out right. It was cut off. I believe the size of the paper needs to be changed. I was printing on 11 x 8.5. I believe I will need a bigger sublimation paper, size A3 (11 x 17)
    since the size of the puzzle is (8.66 x 12.2). Also on the advance settings color i believe the custom color adjustment needs to be changed to automatic. My print came out too light and the photo has rich color

    • @IraQNid
      @IraQNid 2 роки тому

      Try using a UV cured flatbed printer. No need for sublimation inks. Just print directly to blank materials you desire to cut. Then feed the printed material through an Intec SC5000 electronic cutter. It can handle 1,000 sheets of various material types and thicknesses per hour. It jogs the paper automatically during the load stage, scans QR codes in the corners of each job to load the correct cut/crease file for on the fly adjustments. In mere seconds your job is done. Just need a person to punch it from the template.
      Make the same custom shaped, custom printed boxes for your customers using the same cutting machine. So much faster than going this route.
