I cut grass for a living. Had to replace throttle cable before it broke. Working on small equipment is a must to save repair money. Videos like this are essential to me. Thanks.
Thanks for really detailed video . Everybody dreads springwork that go pop and then you have to figure it out . I will have laptop beside me when doing this repair . Just excellent content .
Just realized that I used this video one year ago to replace cable on my Kombi KM85R machine . The clear nylon inner sheath must have frayed and disappeared causing actual metal cable to fray . Thanks again .
Your video saved my day as I had replaced the ignition coil on the FS90 and to get to the bottom screw on the ignition coil , I had to remove the white housing where the shaft connects and later I noticed that the throttle cable was just hanging lose. So I took all the stuff off to get to the carb throttle lever and did not matter how I attached the cable ist always fell out and the reason is I was routing it the wrong way as I did not remove it ,l so did not see how it was attached. So after over an hour I checked UA-cam and seen your amazing video and that saved me. Thanks for posting it.
Good video. I used it to help replace the bare throttle cable on an HT-101 Stihl power pruner. A lot more involved as you had to loosen the carb to replace the old plastic cable transition guide on top with a new and improved one which allows for the protective cable sheath to run nearly the full length of the cable to the carb. Much better installation now.
What a great video. Thank you for taking your time to explain this. Very well done. I wasn’t looking forward to doing this job, you definitely made it a lot easier.
Thanks, well done, and doing it myself saves me a shop fee of $108/hour (can you believe the greed!). I took it apart, but wasn't sure of the spring placements. The throttle cable had worn almost through.
My fs120 is stretched under the handle and was hoping I could just adjust or tighten it up some but not sure how yet. Probably should just replace it anyway. Thanks for the upload 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks, especally for showing us how to put the springs back on... they had popped out when I took it apart and I was stumped about which spring went where.
appreciate the vid ! im converting a fs 250 brush cutter from bicycle handles to a pistol grip handle and couldnt figure out how the cable & wires hooked up in the handle
Hi Mike,,,,,Do that go for a stihl 100rx trimmer also.,,,My cable is little short,,,,,i torqx screw on top of carburetor going to cable,,,,,,but online i read,,,, it a slide next to your handle that u slide on your handle,,,,and slide the clip forward,,,,,,Thanks
No sound starting at 2:39 continuing with no sound until 3:11. Though something was wrong with the devices I’m watching this on. Nope. For some reason the maker of the video cut the sound off. Why? Opened and closed the UA-cam app on my iPad, still no sound. Turn my iPad off and back on, still no sound. Finally fast forward and there is sound. Why you would cut the sound off like that is beyond me kind of annoying as I thought there was a problem on my end.

You are a life saver. I could not figure out that tiny spring that holds the trigger lock out. I was about to meltdown. Thank you man

Excellent video; so well done!! Just what I needed to replace a frayed cable on my FS90R.
Great drop so helpful to avoid costly workshop repairs. I need to do my FS90R soon notice the cable was fraying when fitting a new carb.
