For some reason Axl Rose always gave me a feeling of impending doom and Slash always gave me a feeling of everything is cool...
I play this, on piano. It's a wonderful song.
November Rain is another amazing song by them. A balance of a ballad and a rock song

Not sure if I ever mentioned it to you but I too was a touring musician who grew up in L.A. right around the time that GnR, Motley Crue, Ratt, Wasp, etc etc were playing the Sunset Strip.! I lived 20 miles from there and was COMPLETELY absorbed into the club creature culture at that time.... It was heaven for a young man who, at that time, embraced the hedonistic lifestyle, the music, clothes, all of it.! Hearing this aside from it being my firstborn's first musical memory, really refreshes old & buried memories... Thank YOU..... David .....

Harri, agreed, it is cool how GnR can give us great rockers and ballads. I'm sure they aspired to do so based on Led Zeppelin's famous ability to go from hard rocker songs like, "Black Dog", and, "Whole Lotta Love", to gentle ballads like, "Thank You", and, "The Rain Song".

Harri, I think you've reacted to The Monkees song Daydream Believer. You can see Axl stole the dance move from Davey Jones but it works making something old new again at the time. Great song....

THE SULTAN, love the video love the band love the song. My recommendation is something similar but not a ballad from SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and it's called "STARLIGHT with MYLES KENNEDY on vocals, absolutely fabulous, take care buddy.

26 yr old Axl was more like a cat in water than a pussy cat. I think he is more humble now, but would not have crossed him back in the day. I heard Ozzy Osbourne call him crazy. Yeah, that should sum it up😅

Slash has admitted his "Top Hot" look an homage to Marc Bolan's cover of "The Slider" album by T.Rex. and his overall look. Axel Rose was anything but a pussycat and fragile. He was very difficult to work with. The reason Slash and him don't work together. Not a good reputation of being a nice guy. Sad...he's a great talent but has gotten into some public altercations.
