- I want to show you one of the ways how to build Larry Spring's Mendocino Motor in this video
solar panels: alii.pub/6jgrwr
alii.pub/6jgryw: ali.pub/qctwa
That's an amazing job with only basic tools and a good mind. Congratulations
Most of the negative comments here are pathetically stupid .....never anywhere did he say it was a generator, it's not a free energy device, nor is it an over unity device, because that would defy the laws of physics / the universe ....... appreciate it for what it is and the ability / craftsmanship of it's creator
It's creator? You mean Larry Spring?
This is so cool!!! I really like it :)
Thanks!
Very well done. Not only did you BUILD the motor instead of assembling it from a kit, your workmanship is not bad at all. Only basic tools, but not reverting to a glue gun, plastic bottle and cardboard as most hobbyists do. Congratulations.
Thank Larry Spring for this invention, he also verified the speed of light.
Very nice. Even if you only like the machining process. This guy was very creative!
Hey man this is super cool of you showing your talent, thank you!!
Thank you, the first explanation of the wiring that I have been able to understand, can now set about making one, regards Doc Cox.
This is a very nice project!! I'm going to build one, thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Nicely done, thank you!
Nice motor and thank you for share your experience.
Greetz,
Just Wow ! 😍
Admirable. Thank you for sharing ! 😆
Excellent,
Looks Great
Very nice genius!!!!! Thank you. Ana
great work!!!! I really like it!
loved this - thanks
nice job it is good motor
it is a good step for future project .
thaks.
God bless all
looks like 3D model... good job
Wow, too clever!
That's very nice job , will you please clarify more how you wind and connect to the solar panels?
I want make this thing like you did it. :)
I like your fabrication methods . . . please get hold of me in the USA . . . I have a few projects to work on . . . that could use your abilities
amazing
Very well video. I would like to ask, can it be used as an electricity power source For our houses?
Super thanks a lot
Sensacional!! Parabens meu amigo!! Acabo de me inscrever, vou curtir um pouco teu canal!!! Grande abraço, Marcos Valerio Ciencia, Rio de Janeiro. , Brasil!😊😊😊😊
Thx, that was lovely. Hope you get a 3D printer....it makes the component construction easier
I did enjoy your presentation very much... but... I have said this to many other makers of the 'solar levitating axis motor'... and now I will say it to you too... why not use opposing magnets (i.e. North Pole facing North Pole) at both ends of the axis rod to stabilize its position in 3D space??... this will completely remove any physical contact points and therefore reduce friction to a minimum... i.e. wind resistance only. Give it a try.
Another good idea is to build a vertical axis model... and fit it with an axial flux alternator... free power... while there is light on the panels... even synthetic light.
Thanx HAMMERLAND!!!
Seriously Cool.
idée originale 👍
supper video
Do they have to be ring magnets, or is that just to make assembly easier? Thanks
it's magic)
What would you attach to this to collect the power? . .. maybe a video on that next ? I'm very interested . Thank you for the video .
It's far more efficient to just use the solar panels on their own to generate electricity. For one, the fact that this motor spins means there are losses due to friction (with the air around it). Therefore, any method of converting the movement to electricity would be less efficient than the panels themselves.
So they need the end price that touches or not
very nice, now lets see the uses on the real life.
jp nc sadly this motor does not have any purposes, it is only a proof of concept, as the motor does not have any torque ou can't generate energy with that
so how do you extract generated power?
how much power can this make if attached to a generator of some type?
More windings and stronger bottom magnet would make more torque?
AJ W Sure, but it would need bigger solar panels too, as the amout of energy required to spin the thing would be bigger
What happens there with the wave between 1:00 and 2:00, it grows longer?
Wonder if you could use this to charge a capacitor, which could then be used to power a device maybe? Hmmm.....
Thank you!! Would love to build it. How can you convert that motion into electricity?
Why would you want that? It's far more efficient to just use the solar panels on their own. For one, the fact that this motor spins means there are losses due to friction (with the air around it). Therefore, any method of converting the movement to electricity would be less efficient than the panels themselves.
I didn't account for that. Do you think it would be the same within a vaccum?
Yes, It would be more efficient in a vacuum for sure, but still not as good as the solar panels on their own. If you're wondering where the energy goes then, look up the properties of a solenoid, like how it interacts with magnetic and electric fields. You'll find that it takes work just to move a charge in a magnetic field. I think its all pretty interesting, but it's just too much information for me to type out in a youtube comment. :p
Just put some small coil next to that spinning little magnet!! Get ur self some free energy
plz send me all specification of equipments used in solar motor project.. with cost.. plz..
:)
This is very interesting! How might this be used to harvest actual electricity into batteries, not just a desk toy?
What do the little solar panels do?
Winter Star They basicaly power up the whole thing, the electricity they generate is used to spin the motor ;P
And sadly this motor is not designed to generate a whole lot of power, its just for educational purposes i guess... as the main shaft does not have any torque at all (by that i mean it is very easy to stop the motor from spining, i bet you can stop it with only one finger), you can not generate power with that... :/
But it still looks amazing so it's okay X)
Oh...didn't realize the solar panels were actually feeding energy to turn it...thot maybe those were simply used to cause heating in alternating sections.
Someone else made something like this, only, far simpler....used stretched garbage bag strips, on a barrel/bucket/cups [depends on size], which heated up, causing the cups or buckets used under them, to warp slightly on the sides facing the sun, which caused the construct to turn. [the strips cooled as it rotated to the shaded sides]. No solar panels....but his demo was also a toy demo.
What if that kind of thing were used, with magnets inside the buckets or tube holding the dark and light strips...might that generate some usable energy?
Winter Star Well basicaly you could generate power with anything that spins, but considering those motors are only designed to move and not to generate power, they do it with a very small force so it is hard to create a lot of energy with it, but yes, i guess you could generate some.
Considering the little motor that was made in the vidéo can't provide a lot of energy, if you wanted to power up something with that you could also just directly plug the solar panels on the power input ;P
And the motor you described could'nt work with magnets this way because the magnets also need coils to repulse, as it is the thing that moves the whole thing. it would be possible to add a coil in each bucket and add a magnet at the bottom of the motor, not to far of the buckets, then connect the coils to solar panels. This should spin if correctly made, but now the whole "bucket heating" system would be useless, as this should now spin too fast for the buckets to even heat or cool.
Also, no, the solar panels are not used as heaters ;) , The way this motor spins is like every other brushed motor does : it applies power to the coils in a correct order. it is acctually using electromagnets (Those are the coils on the motor). This is also why there is a magnet at the bottom of it, it's the magnet that is used to spin the motor
How much current It can generate?
I can't understand the wiring. if you connect wire like "+H-" it's equal to no H in the middle, right? the power will go from + to - directly, how could this working.?
my project is motor on solar energy so please send mi all specifications of solar panals and magnet with amount
I am having a lot of difficulties understanding the wiring, could you please help?
How can we convert as generator
Very good, congratulations! How to adapt a Dynamo to generate electricity?
i'm almost certain the amount of kinetic energy is way too low to get any sizeable amount of electric energy from a dynamo - chances are, the dynamo will stop the mendocino motor if you attach it.
if you want electricity from it, you should connect the solar panels directly to whatever you wish to feed with it.
the reason why mendocino motors usually are built hovering, is also because that removes most of the friction (only air and that tiny pike cause friction, and that's very low). if it generated a lot of energy, it could overcome much higher friction.
+aprillomat
it can generate a static charge, which can be harnessed with a tesla coil to generate free power.
Trevor Hurd
do you know how small the amount of energy is that a static charge of that magnitude nets?
then you might as well just attach a tiny dynamo. or harness the electricity from the solar panels directly. either way, you couldn't do a lot with it.

Here, I thought you could save up charge in a capacitor to use at a set rate.
With enough switching, transforming, charging, voltage ramping, and discharging, I think you could get quite a lot of good use out of it. The whole thing would be basically like a Wimshurst Generator that you don't have to spin yourself.
Trevor Hurd
in a way, yes. in fact, i have a wimshurst machine at home. the sad truth, however, is that a wimshurst machine doesn't generate a lot of amps, either :)
it makes pretty sparks, but if you try to use it to power something, let's say a motor or lamp, it will struggle quite a bit.
so any appliance that needs a steady DC supply is out of the question. on the other hand, anything that takes very little energy to power, or can work with sudden periodic discharges, would work.
what rpm is this?
My schedule does not allow me the time to build one but if you are interested to sell one that you already made, please contact me.
Nice work - thanks
Are there some mistakes in translation? :)
?
No, It is good

нет у него мощи) ua-cam.com/video/8rgSJeOnEvw/v-deo.html
That is perfect... now all you need is to attach a generator to your motor.
or just get the electricity from the solar panels themselves...
Can I contact you to ask you about a new idea that I am working on, but I have faced some obstacles? Please respond
Fucking Brilliant. Gratz!
Da!!!!! All of you!
whats the music ?
Do you sell these?
is it possible to make this without side support ?
nobody has come up with how to do it
Keep trying! Nothing is impossible. The Nobel prize is waiting.
whats the center magnet for?
It's the motor's "field". Without it the motor won't turn. It provides the magnetism with which the coil's magnetic fields interact to produce torque.
Wow, the friction is so small here
man that's a blast! just improve your english (force yourself to watch movies and series in english with english subtitles for instance) and this channel will skyrocket! keep it up!
thanks for the advice
I agree with American Male, your English is perfect.
American Male Sycophant. Alessio is offering positive, constructive advice that will help Hammerland grow his channel, and you say no, don't listen to that guy. You and Ryan Mitchell here both get toady awards. At least Mitchell can spell English, but has no concept of what perfect means.
Ryan Mitchell could have posted your comment by itself, why not?
Your English is perfect.
It sounds like a compliment, but is actually an insult to someone with an original, helpful thought who was amazed by this brilliant video.
You're pretty obsessed with being gay, aren't you? You love American Males? Good for you.
I think you missed the point of my comment, probably didn't understand it though. So much anger is not healthy.
fuckinggggggggggggggg awsome man................
add lense to it ;)
Nice video I may have to try this. ( .. )
There is only one problem. You can't get energy out of it. Attaching any type of friction to it will stop it. There is not enough turning power to rotate any type of alternator.
RedLightHitter indeed, no torque, no power... it still looks great tho x)
If you want the energy, don't build the motor, just hook up the solar cells to whatever you want to power or a rechargable battery. The cool thing here is the air suspension / levitation.
haha, he thinks you are not well. What is the word?
im confused with the wiring...
make it perfect round..
no Arabic translation
Work, people. A motor is supposed to do useful work...
Any practical use of this? It seems that it will not, never work if you attach it to a generator or anything mechanical in nature as it shows it only works well with the very least resistance/ friction which is air or suspended in the air.
Hammerland, can you give your email to me ? because i want to know how to build it step by step and i dont understand about the connection of the wire and the solar panel. it's for my job on collage. i hope you reply my massege and it's so important to me. thank you
I do not know much English, I would be hard to explain to you
HAMMERLAND it's okay. my english is not good to. hahahaha. please explain to me. it is my email affantmed2012@gmail.com
thank you
It is not really a motor because it moves nothing.
poor motor only one panel is ever in the most optimal position to receive the light nice model
That's how the motor works, by having a differential of current from one side to the other to self state. If all sides got equal sunlight it wouldn't move.
