Nice sets, got a Starter T-80 and the starter set with 4* more T-80's on the way, they look great on video and pictures, as a model builder first and wargamer second can't wait to get my hands on them. 4:55 One model all 3 sets also share is the BRDM variants.
Bought this box a month ago. For the planned Czechoslovakian force I need 2 T-72 boxes and this one + support. For first 100 points. Lots of stuff. :-)
Thanks for the review. I've picked up a couple of these boxes, in one box the infantry were close to perfect, no issue at all. In the other... the figures were unsalvageable. Very heavy mould lines/mould slip, and a number with amputated limbs and weapons. Not an issue for myself, as am not using them for my planned project anyway. However, would be a very rough start for a new player if they happen to get such a set, not a great introduction considering it is a starter set. For their infantry figures, quality control seems to be the perennial Battlefront issue. They do have good customer support it is true, a shame it needs to be relied upon at times. Hope we see these on your game table soon!
Thanks for the video. Is it correct that you don't think the BMPs don't need magnets to hold the top and bottom hull together? Also can you magnets for the Spandrel version of the BRDM? I was thinking of using magnets instead of pegs to swap all three variants.
You’d only really need to magnetize the turrets to the hull if you like a tighter fit than the pegs provide. The hulls actually fit together really well so with a layer of paint you don’t need to do anything to them to get them to fit. All of my BMPs are able to swap hull tops easily with almost no work.
@@davidschneider5462 I would just recommend if you are doing a color spray primer to do both hull and tops at the same time so the color is consistent for both variants. I found that slight changes in temperature and humidity can have a slight effect on paint colors that become noticeable once dried when using spray paints.
Battlefront is finally selling the PKM sprue individually, unfortunately no pictures so I don’t know how many figures with what weapons are on each sprew as I got my first infantry when they were metal.
This box is a perfect starter for team yankee. Infantry can be very important, and everything is useful.

Thank you for the review. I probabily will get one box too.

Never had this problem myself, but I do know you can just let BF know and they'll send you replacements
Can’t wait to start a Cuban force.
So tempted to start East Germans.

Magnets aren’t necessary for the BMPs, they fit together pretty snugly.

Should have put some PKM teams in there as well , so the BMPs could be used as 1 medium size coy .
Less, the lack of PKM makes this a poor box imo.

@@Subcomandante73 there I fixed it. Happy?
