Kinda reminds me of my friend also schizophrenic. He once threatened me with a pair of scissors causea voice in the radio told him to do it. But anyway he went on meds chilled out a bit and still lives in the same place he's been living (that I used to live we were roomates) with the same rent from like 10 years ago on disability and draws cartoons (many many drawings daily) non stop.

@@greg77389 In a way but indirectly. You keep hearing voices telling you things so often that you start to confuse what's real. Paranoia and obsessive behavior is very common with schizophrenics. I think is an attempt to silence the voices by trying to appease them.

My father who rented many apartments back in the days also made me pay a 700$ dollar rent for living in one of them. His argument was that it was 100$ cheaper than he would charge other renters and if i didn't have to pay a rent i would never learn the reality of life. The reality is, if you don't have a family to support you materially and emotionally (or just emotionally if they don't have any money), your odds of being successful and financially stable in life are close to none, especially nowadays.
Being a dad myself now i would never imagine charging a rent to my daughter, nor letting her have to deal with the evergrowing cost of life all by herself.
People who do that truly are morons, but sometimes it takes morons to create geniuses.

I'm not going to say he had bad parents, in fact they seemed pretty chill with the little footage we have of them from Terry. However I will say they just didn't know how to handle Terry's situation. I think at one point they just kinda "gave up" because they just wanted a normal son, not a schizophrenia patient.
I know they tried to put him on meds but Terry refused. Not much else they could do for him I suppose.

@@tribemaster101 Damn. Im disabled and i must pay $250. Cant afford anything else i cant afford to pay more. They own multiple flats besides their house. I wanted cheap one for students but they said no. Idk if i could call them family they dont treat me well. I was neglected and beaten as a kid part of my disability is caused by childhood trauma and rest is retardation. In other families children are the priority when i visit them i feel like im part of the family even tho im an adult. I dont know any people who would treat me badly except my parents and some toxic women. I wish i wasnt born. I dont know if suicide is justifiable i think jail is better option. Its full of neglected people like me.
