As an addictions counselor, I appreciate you bringing awareness to addiction and also being open about your own concerns and sharing about your family members who battled addiction. We need to do more to talk publicly about it. Knowledge is power. Be safe!
Thanks for the tour and sharing your memories
Hi Captain Philly watching your channel all the way from Scotland 🏴
Cap you should consider running for city council. I think you could win and you have passion for the city that no one else running would have
Here we go baby, as someone who’s never been to Philadelphia in my life and hasn’t even been to the east coast since 1999, having a steaming cup of coffee and getting my morning Kensington walk though update!!
Thanks Philly Captain for showing a part of Philly that many of your subscribers never knew about. The only thing I know about Port Richmond is that my brother enjoys driving across the Walt to get his kielbasa and pound cake. Thanks again. Go Phillies!
Philadelphia is a beautiful place. Every city has issues. I really appreciate that you have empathy for the addicts but fight for those kids. Just because their families are not wealthy doesn't mean that they should have to live in what Kensington Ave has become. All kids deserve a sage walk to school.
From observation of your coverage, I can see that Port Richmond is signigficantly cleaner and better maintained by the residents, than those who live in Kensington.
That original Cohocksink building was built in 1958.
Let's be clear about the encampments, those people are drug addicts not homeless. They choose to live on the street. The sooner they are removed the better so that people like me who have had to live with this nightmare, will finally be able to have our neighborhood back.
Moved to Port Fishtington 15 years ago and I love all your insight and old school info about the 'hood!
Please wear helmet and ride with traffic when you sccot - you make me nervous! (I ride a bike around Philly - please be careful!)
Things are looking a LOT better around Philly!
3006 Belgrade Street is listed at $184,990
That’s insane!
Thanks for the share I use to live around there. I’m glade to see the streets are getting some help… stay safe.
Hey Philly Captian I made your video...I was the dude in the yellow shirt crossing Aramingo & Clearfield who said"aye The Captian"...lol Keep doin your thing, love your videos my man!!!
Great scoot Captain. It was nice to hear about your childhood. I don't think anyone knows what to do with Kensington and the cleanup has just pushed the addicts elsewhere so that area becomes a problem. Its an ongoing issue and even though I'm in the UK i feel for the people who have to put up with all nonsense. 🇬🇧
My Mom was raised at 2745 N. Taylor St. Back during the 1920’s. And if you wanted Polish food it was either Port Richmond, Manayunk or Conshohocken!!
Hey Capt, Is the old Holmesburg prison being used? If not the Philly cops can ship the addicts there to detox.
The homes look lovely❤
Good video thanks 👍
No trees planted anywhere
The prices for housing are ridiculous. The house I grew up in South Philly that my Dad paid $4k for in the mid-1950’s recently sold for $500k!
I grew up at Ann and Miller before your time I am 75 years old
Nice live! I hope the chickens and the other animals are well.. Have a Good Friday Captain. Love from; Jersey ✌🏻
Hi Captain ~ it's not being knocked down ... getting repaired.
Thanks 🙏🏾 for the info and UPDATE
That was me in the blue impala lol
Thanks for the update
Thanks, good to get the tour!
Really enjoy your videos! 👋 from Delco

As a fellow kenzo / port Richmond guy I tend to think about the area often as well
Another great video!
Appreciate your social commentary on the city. Good work. mm
Thank you
My pretzel boy used to say Ye all ready for fresh pretzels. Those were the days.
The Belgrade house is beautiful inside.
God bless dude. B safe. Johny w from foxchase
I was offered a job in Philly in the 1960's. After touring the housing, I turned it down. It seems to have gotten worse. I do enjoy your visits around the areas of Philly.
The one on Ann Street is gorgeous inside
5 ACRES !! ❤
Your content is awesome!
EXACTLY--- all the MENTAL HEALTH issues related to this!! But, politicians are not talking about mental health only mental health related to addiction. There is more help needed and changes needed in our mental health system!! 5/16/24 gathering for all re: Mental Health 2537 e Monmouth st The Block Church is kindly allowing the neighborhood to use their facility again 6:30 pm . We the people need to show with unity that support outweighs stigma!!!! ♥️
Just had a house across the street from me in Bridesburg go for over 300k.
Port Richmond ends right here on Martha st (officially).
Talk about memories, I played stick ball at that school! Soft pretzels were 5 cents, lol
Great video captain! Lived at 2962 cedar st for a few years right across from the field. Keep up the great content. Used to go to gaul and co for the witowski
Did you rock the Casbah while you were there?
3006 Belgrade Street is listed for $184,990 and looks like it was recently renovated by the pictures. 2554 Ann Street is listed for $397,000 and looks recently renovated from the pictures. I lived in Wissinoming near Benner & Cottage Sts 1990-2006 and in the early 90s there was a guy who drove a box truck selling fruits and vegetables. The name Jack's was on the side of the truck box. He had a certian way of saying what was for sale through the PA speaker. It got Wah wah wah wah watermellon, Honey honey honeydew Mellons, and he would yell STRAAAAAAWBERRIES really loud. 2351 Clearfield street is a rental for $1700/month.
I remember Cohaxie playground. As a teenager on summer nights we would meet there before going on a mission sometimes. SlixxChixx,s cousin lived near there in one of the 3 story houses, she was a pretty good graffiti artist, like Slixx Chixx. Such was life there in the early to mid 1970s. I remember the old rec center that was torn down in the 80s.The neighborhood looks the same as it did in the 70s. Thanks for the memories.
Love the baseball vids but nothing beats the scoots another banger
😂.i get it ☘️ I'm from Port Richey
That joke was just for you
What up ✌️
My grandfather used to coach the Tigers. Richard Wheeler was his name
Hey captain, remember in the movie scarface. Tony said, " you need people like me so you can point your f finger and say thats the bad guy. That has a deep meaning"
I’m surprised that the people in that area is not trying to get it back to where it used to be
It's been a shithole for 50 years. How far we getting it back to?
I remember selling clothes prop 2/4/a dollar Made them myself my grandfather taught me how to make them 💪🏽
Do you remember any pantry pride food market in northeast? If so, which one?
I didn't know you grew up on an st I was wondering if you remembered my grandmother lil she was the crossing guard at Ann and aramingo back in the 80s and late 90s
If you pass by Penners Floor Coverings, at 3004 Richmond St. Please stop by and tell my Uncle Allen, the owner Hi
Clearfield sr is renting at $1700
Yeah I know what you're talking about your local high school baseball I always say if the Phillies are on a losing streak to button up your day watch your local high school baseball team or local bar baseball team play it's fun to watch you'll enjoy it

Sean Patrick Daily, so sad. It says he was a son of a police officer. Very sad.
The attack was apparently in retaliation for a fight between one of the attackers and a man in the neighborhood a week ago. He said Dailey was not involved in the fight. "He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time,"
About the drugs and the overdosing. We all lose family members and friends to it. It’s very emotional. Thanks for talking to us about it in your videos and getting the word out.
At least it looks like they were being a bit sympathetic there. Here in Phoenix there was one encampment that was over 2000 and 3000 people and they just bulldozed everything.I have no idea what they did with those people where they went
That's what they did here, 'cept when the cameras were filming. They just dump all the stuff and push the ppl to the next block. To ruin another part of the city they are looking to tear it down so the older ppl will move out and they can buy it up cheap and gentrify the hell out of it. I saw the same thing happen time and time again in other parts of Philly, they push the problem to the next neighborhood and call it a win.
HEY DO YOU KNOW WHAT BARS IN PHILLY THE SANDMAN HANGOUT IN BY ANY CHANCE?
just there last week for a funeral good food
Ann Street $397,000.
The house on Ann St. is $397,000
Are they rebuilding the playground or they selling the land for Condo?
Condo's
Rebuilding the playground
ALmand Street and SALman Street. 😅
You speak Port Richmond very well
@ThePhillyCaptain both of my parents were from Port Richmond, I have lived here over 20 years now. Alot of my family's traditions revolved around the Polish traditions in the neighborhood. I currently reside at Salman and Indiana. 😊
1760 month rent
No ramp to enter social security building ~ disabled and seniors. 😕🤔💔
It's level to the ground.
That cleanup isn't gonna do anything... tbere gonna come right back to it. Or move right next to it... until they open up enough beds for treatment and start saying something to them nothing will change
🇺🇸🇺🇦❤🤍💙💛🌹🇮🇱🤍💙
400k for the Ann house.
Have you been to that Ontario st comic shop on a video ?
I have. I need to go back
@@ThePhillyCaptain I just saw it tonight. UA-cam refers to
all sorts of old shit👍 I spent 2 years living with my brother where they were filming Glass and 2 miles away from Coca-Cola field. Ya disappointed now
Philadelphia just needs to take back THE city. GET back to the way it used to be because it’s not a clean city it’s very dirty.
How would you suppose they do that exactly..just curious bc it's not a simple task
It’s been called filthy-delphia for decades. I love Philly but certain areas have never been pristine
Ok so what are you going to do? You seem like you love to complain.
That's a god Damn Shame
nothing gold stays ponyboy
2554 Ann st 3 bed 3 baths $397,000 😳
Good lord
@@ThePhillyCaptain right?! Ridiculous.
Philly always had racial tension as far as I remember and does everybody remember Move and the lovely Mayor Goode
I know that back in the day Kensington in Port Richmond area used to be very prejudice and racist. They didn’t want Black people living in that area.
Port Richmond is not A CLEAN AREA
Considering I live here I'd say it's alot cleaner than the other side of Aramingo Ave.
You haven't had a single nice thing to say under any video. I bet you're a real blast at parties. 🙄🙄🙄
hey philly captain free recall on your kia soul
