Try clamping the mold between a couple pieces of wood to distribute the pressure from the clamp more evenly. This should help prevent it from cracking. I’ve been carving lures for a couple years now, but never tried pouring molds. Watching your videos is giving me the itch to try it out.
Yeah, I have done that before. I unfortunately tried to clamp it with a heavy duty spring clamp first, which cracked it. I hope you try a making some molds, if so please send me a picture. regularguylures@gmail.com. You stay regular!
"Made in America"!!! This bait intrigued me. I was curious how you were going to put a soft tail into a soft lure. Soft plastics are still unexplored territory for me.
Yeah, there is still some fine tuning that needs to be done, but it did work. I think I’d like to make that fish a little bit shorter. But, if it’s unexplored territory, then give it a regular try! Stay Regular!
I wonder if fiber tape or chopped glass would make the mold stronger
