When you said you were going to practice drawing *backgrounds* (arguably one of the most difficult things to learn to draw) while using a *brand new* tablet, I did get a spike of anxiety lmao. It's honestly incredible that you were able to do so much. It used to be that every time I got a new tablet (which I did maybe three times before finding something I liked), I would have a mini mental breakdown and question if I was even good at art because there was always a learning curve to getting used to how it worked. Especially going from being used to drawing on the canvas to drawing on a tablet and having it appear on the screen. Needless to say, I totally get the crash out but I really do think you did a lot with what you had. So kudos fr!
Can I recommend Krita? I just started using it Because I have a graphic table I need to put to use. it's photoshop adjacent too so you done have to relearn much. and for the hand eye coronation, And the table slightly in the line of vision... like almost right over the key board. And Lean back a little so you can see everting. Hope this help and it's just obvious!
I found this video because I was also crashing out learning to draw 2 point perspective and thought seeing someone else draw a background would inspire me. It did! Because your in a similar boat that I’m in, learing/ improving at a skill that you are giving yourself Sisyphus levels of stress over, when we can both just do the dang thing. So thank you for inspiring me to do the dang thing!! (Also your sona is cool and your art is pretty I love your hair shapes for the one with a ponytail)
You did so good! To fix buildings mixing into eachtoher and far buildings looking far away, you should definitely look into value/color perspective. Stuff that are away have lower contrast and more desaturated...! This is a sloppy explanation but when u look into it u can see that its a simple trick that helps a lot!
photoshops not much of a drawing program as it is a photo editor, if you'd like to try again i'd recommend giving Krita a try? I'm like 90% sure its compatible with Mac laptops :3
