Can we find out why such big crew cabs on some of these tankers that say tanker on them ??? Makes no sense to have large crew cabs on a tanker that is just shuttling water 2 personal is a you need for tanker operations!!!!

The more personnel the better. They don’t all just shuttle water, some go to the scene direct and stay there.

My department runs a Pumper-Tanker (Pierce Enforcer 1500/2500/20) which we run as both a Engine and a Tanker, it has full set of fire fighting equipment, it will run 3rd out to urban fires behind our main engine (Pierce Enforcer 1500/1000/30) and our quint (Pierce Lance 100' 1500/300/0) and 1st out to rural fires, when running as a tanker it normally runs with only 2 firefighters with the exception when running Auto-aid to our north partner department in which case we will be the 2nd due tanker and we will run 4 firefighters for that, 2 will stay at the fire scene and run the tanker shuttle operation at the fire ground and the 3rd firefighter will man the refill hydrant/portable pump.
