Its amazing how he can keep this kamikaze style of play after so many years and several injuries. I feel like Russ is getting too much hate and less recognition from most fans. He will remain as one of my favorite players no matter what. Not everyone can win a ring, but the fact he keeps this level for so long is so underrated.

Coming from a Rockets fan that's now a huge Russ fan, I still think Harden got robbed of an MVP that year. Dude's been robbed of 3 MVPs now. I honestly think the award has become a joke as it's determined by the media who basically follow a narrative. Averaging a triple double... that's a narrative.. forget that Harden put up equally impressive numbers (2000 points, 600 assists, 600 rebounds, which had never been done), and he carried his team through injuries to a higher seed. Cynics claim that Harden had a better team around him, yet so did Curry the year before and Giannis last year.
@@nahor88 I agree with you about the MVP being more about a narrative now but I think westbrook was more valuable to his team than Harden. Harden could sit on the bench and his team keep the lead, westbrook would sit after being up like 10 to 15 points and then have to fight every night to get OKC back in the game, he had the second youngest team and the only other good offensive player was Oladipo who is no where as good as he is now. In short, without westbrook OKC would have been probably between the 12th and 15th seed, without Harden the rockets would have probably been 8-11th. The MVP award has turned into best player rather than most valuable player, for example LeBron should have been MVP in 2018 and Harden should have been it 2019. Without LeBron the cavs would have been 15th definitely, not necessarily about numbers but about the value of a player

And if we're following that logic, Curry's Warriors and Giannis' Bucks also would've been play-off teams without them. The year Harden won MVP, the Rockets had CP3 but he was injured quite a bit that year.

He’s the most hated for no reason at all he’s so good , yes he can’t shoot the 3 ball very well but he can shoot mid range and drive and honeslty one of the most clutch players we’ve ever seen and people don’t notice that. And most important he’s the most athletic PG of time and you usually don’t see that very often in a PG he’s just amazing in general

Russell Westbrook is the definition of EXPLOSIVENESS AND ATHLETICISM
Russ was the man that caught me by surprise and the reason I fell in love with basketball. He’s my inspiration and why I play the game. The way he plays, that’s how I wanna play. The things he does are incredible. There’s no doubt he is, not only, my favorite current player, but my favorite of all time. The fact that he gets so much hate for “stat padding” and his lack of shooting is ridiculous. Why can’t people just realize and respect that he is out there, working his ass off, to not only improve his game, but his teammates. He is the most hardworking and explosive player I’ve seen in my lifetime. The way he goes out and leaves it all on the floor is inspiring and incredible.

No one ever talks bout this but his finishes (layups) around the rim is exceptionally good especially when he drives left....he doesnt use the pro hop...just 1 2 step or the hop step..and I have never seem him use a hook shot..its always the underhand. Also his splitting the defense...he splits the screen better than anyone else.

I tried the triple double thing it helped my team so much it just taught me to not be lazy when rebounding
If everyone had that same mentality in a game even if you can’t get the rebound at least trying to get it helps your rebounding chance so much
Offensive and defensive rebounds I may be a point guard but I never stop if Westbrook doesn’t stop I shall not stop
From a passive point guard into a scoring point guard I created so many more opportunities for my teammates when everybody is looking at me driving I just had to do a pocket pass or drive and kick to the 3 point line and my teammates would be open
After they shoot I try to get the rebounds and it’s crazy how it works no doubt in my mind playing like that would not only condition my body for tougher moments when people try to double me I just had to fight for the rebounds if I can’t do anything and play it slow or call a screen
Westbrook was just a different beast he changed my game and I’m Glad I looked up to such a man 👨 better than any curry Durant Paul George that is my opinion he would have won a ring if he just tweaked a little bit of his game and his game is the only one that people would be afraid of him because he has such a high risk of driving and kicking the ball out that’s crazy
