First kind comment! Spoiler follows ... -- -- -- -- -- -- --- This was a little tedious for me as well. One difference in my solve is that I marked the 1,5,6 triple in box 9 (r8) immediately after finding the 4,8 pair in box 6 (r8). That triple immediately revealed the 1 in r8c8 leaving a 5,6 pair. I got the naked single 8 in box 3 (r1) during my corner-marking. I'm not sure any of those made a difference though. My solve also collapsed after getting the naked 5 in box 6 (r9). so I agree with your summary that that 5 in box 6 was the key that unlocked the rest of the solve.
Why are you using the little numbers, you should be able to see it in your head. You look for the numerical values that cross then you look for others that eventually run vertical or horizontal. You must make some assumptions based on empty squares. The sudoku puzzles help with depression and strengthen focus.
Snyder notation is very powerful and essential for some of the very advanced puzzles. Lots of people like notation free, but plenty of people including me prefer to use Snyder.
Thanks for the daily walkthroughs!
Thanks! I was stuck on the 7 in col1 for a while. I finished it in 50 mins with your hint

The red pencil marks are pretty lame just saying.
