Love this breakdown. The yodeling effect gives the effect of crying or wailing. In Irish culture they use a technique called Keening, it is a traditional form of vocal lament. What Justin is doing in the chorus when he sings "Lonely" is very similar.

so many people are doing reaction on this , i am so Happy that people starting to recognize him and treat him the right way. I dont know if you have been following him but this song is about when he was just a boy and in the MV , the actor wore his iconic suit when Bieber was younger. He has been criticized for many things he has been doing before that I am not allowed to tell . And recently he has been badly sick , that is why in the lyrics there was a part which he sang when people saw he was shit , they did not give a shit because they think he deserved it

Being Southern I Love Yodeling LOL..... but too Justin I think sang more through his nose if that makes sense now its richer more mature and from his chest more! He had more of a nasal sound to me but hey he went from a child to a teen to young adult so there would be changes and growth in his singing! That song really makes me think of younger justin
The music video has a little kid actor who portays Justin and comes out onto a huge stage. ( As Justin is singing this song background) and there's nobody in the audience except Justin as himself as a grown man, observing. Justin said that during filming he was extremely emotional. The music video is amazingly intense. I guess you gotta see it. Justin and Benny directed it together.

Everyone has problems, but I have less sympathy for a spoiled rich white boy who's had fame and fortune but who feels misunderstood than a homeless hungry man living on the street fighting for survival. Or a single mom working 2 minimum wage jobs just to put food on the table and a roof over her kids head. Those are real life struggles I respect his music tho. He reminds me of taylor swift. They both pour their angst into their music.

As someone who grew up in the hood raised by a struggling single mother, having to wear the same two outfits every day and walking around with holes in the bottom of my shoes, I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you and say that his problems ARE indeed real. Do you think he was acting out the way he was in his younger days for no reason? Even when he was lashing out, he was crying out. There was a pain lying beneath the surface of all of that chaos that money couldn't fix. And instead of ppl reflecting over their lives and offering him the grace they needed themselves and a shoulder to cry on, they nailed him to a cross. I think instead of giving so much power to money, you should take some time to really understand what life is really about. Money comes and goes, and when we finally leave this earth, we leave all of the materialistic things behind. That goes to show you how irrelevant riches and fame are when it comes to matters of the mind, heart, spirit, and soul. He's crying out now, saying he's lonely. He feels misunderstood. He can buy a world a friends and he'll still feel lonely. He wants love. He wants peace of mind. He wants to be understood. He wants to be heard. Give a homeless man or a struggling mother a million dollars, and though it'll end their worries about survival, they still won't be fulfilled. Because what we truly need goes beyond the surface. That's what he's singing about. Listen.
