Removing an upper dishwasher rack can be tricky, but sometimes needs to be done for cleaning or repairs. Sometimes the top dishwasher rack or upper dishwasher rack end clips are also called stops or caps.
This video includes 2 different styles of Maytag upper rack clips and 1 style of GE upper rack clips. If you have something different, please leave a comment so I can look at making a video to cover other commonly needed dishwasher clips.

I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher that about 7 years old. The clips on the racks are about 1 “ 3/4”. I need to replace the upper knife rack but, the clips look very brittle so I’m afraid the mess around with them. In your opinion , do you think the dishwasher is too old to replace the racks? Good video BUT my clips are not on your video so I could use some help. I have a Whirlpool dishwasher model #WDF520PADW7 & for the life of me, I cannot get the clips back into the track.
Can you help with a new Viking dishwasher? I can't push the upper rack all the way in. I've identified that the drawer slide is the problem, but I can't get to it because the rack is in the way, so I need to remove the upper rack. I'd sure appreciate your help because I live in the country and the closest big city with a repairman is 2 hours away. Thanks.

GE Model GDT680SSH2. Removed end caps but rack does not come out. Upper rack is part WD28X20197. Bought the replacement which is WD28X25802 but cannot get old rack out.

My dishwasher is a Whirlpool WDF760SADM1. The problem was the end clip for the upper rack broke, and the pieces vanished. They don't seem to sell just the end cap, but they do sell the whole slide assembly. Replacing the whole slide assembly seems to be a major task. Any help there?
