My ex knew Phil when they were first getting started, during their hair metal phase. They met because my ex was in the bathroom, and this guy comes in and goes, "Take that fucking shirt off!" and got in his face (I think it was a NIN shirt). He basically said, "Blow me, asshole" and Phil kept threatening him, but my ex wouldn't back down. I think he respected that, because he backed off. But yeah, it's been well-known from the beginning that Phil Anselmo is a dick.

I worked in a hotel, and Slayer made their last show in Argentina last year. They were checking out, and I saw them with their luggage waiting to leave. I was frozen to have them so close and all I said was: "Slayer, great show last night, we'll surely miss you" They said nothing, they just looked at me with a cold look. King was just staring at me with his sunglasses, (I had the opportunity to shake hands with Gary before the show though, excellent guy). But Araya gave me the most adorable smile in the world hahahaha, not intimidating at all.

I work in a music store in Dublin, Ireland. Slayer were doing a show in a venue near our shop. Tom Araya dropped in and hung out with myself and my co-worker for about an hour. He's honestly THE coolest guy in the world. Very laid back and so nice. We ended up selling him a mandolin :) If you search "tom Araya plays Irish music", you'll see a quick minute video of him just goofing around with us.

He looked way more intimidating in the Slipknot/Iowa era than he does know. He used to play his signature Warlock and headbang during all the concert, now he plays Ibanez and barely moves. Something that always bothered me is her wife denying he stopped headbanging because of the neck injuries, but never said the "real" reason.
