You were one of the first vanners I followed. Just noticed you only have 22K followers. I think that is because you've been gone for a while and 22K was probably good back then. Van life has grown so popular now but I think you could grow the big viewership if you want. Good to see you back...you were a good source and always kept it real. Good luck!

The way this van is built just amazes me. I’ve been looking at prebuilt vans that just need a little fixing and stumbled onto your videos. If I could find one of these vans around here with little to no rust that just needs electrical or mechanical fabrication, it would fit me perfectly! Thanks for this video!
I use to own a Gold 1985 VW Vanagon Camper GL , 4 speed manual transmission. I had the extra small table for the front Captain chairs and also a rear mosquito screen that secured itself with snaps, along with the OEM front window privacy cover. I was stationed in Rota, Spain and traveled all of southern Spain in our Vanagon as a family. Wish I still had it. Hoping Volkswagen makes a Camper edition of the new electric van they’re bringing to the U. S. I will be retiring in the next 5 years and plan on getting one and taking to the road with my wife. Tint your windows within the maximum, legal limit and use black curtains for extra darkness. That's what I did while car camping.

Love it... this past winter I did camping in my 09 Camry in Colorado.. it was so much fun. Now i have a land rover discovery just for that purposes... can't wait to go on camping during winter again. May be will cross our paths on day. 👍👍

I have followed your channel for some years, and when my world turned around in January 2017, i 'copied' your way of doing the vanlife in my 1992 VW Westfalia Eurovan and it functioned 100%.
I stored my stuff (not much) and made it my spare closet, same way u did, and everything worked super.
In Denmark it's not possible to live the vanlife as you know it, because of rules and other goverment stuff, but i lived in my van for 3 month and everything worked just as i wanted it to, stealth camping and everything, and your channel was my main inspiration.
I sadly had to do some 'adult' choises, so i had to let my VW Westfalia Eurovan go, but i'm missing it like hell, and my new girlfriend and me, is looking for a new VW Westfalia, for 'living the vacation vanlife'. Thanks for your inspiration, that made me comfortable choosing this way of sorting things.... Keep on trucking... :-)

I love what you did to your van I watch your show every night before I lay down for bed I love camping and one day I will have something like that I bet it is exciting if I were on that road trip and see all the beautiful mountains

Use the heater before Bed, to heat the bedding & any cold air inside the van.
To stay warm when in bed, :-
Use HOT WATER Bottles . And Proper COLD weather camping style Sleeping bags.
Add more Bedding / warmer bedding.
Velcro or Bluetack insulation to all windows to retain heat.
Always try to Be Warm before you go to bed.

From my experience riding motorcycles around the country in winter, my number one tip for staying warm is never let yourself get too hungry, always make sure your body's topped up with fuel to burn once you fall behind it's so hard to get warm again even after a good meal.
Getting ready to retire in four years, and seriously considering joining the van life. Freedom is the motivation , lived in or I should say stayed for period of time in my converted Tahoe, have to say I’m very comfortable sleeping and camping in it. Getting up going to the gym shower than going to work. I do have a small home but it’s something to be said about the feeling of freedom!! Enjoy your videos!!!!
The more I watch your vids...the more I want to camp in the cold instead of warm weather. Seems much easier to add layers and cozy up.

New to your channel, love how you make your nourishing meals on the road. Thanks for the van tour. Now I know how you get your cooking gear clean. Did know you had a sink in there.
A 100 watt solar panel and you could run your fridge from the sun, make the propane go farther. Just a thought. We just got one for the in-laws airstream.

Chad, been following your trials and tribulations since the beginning of your channel. We have near the same vehicle. 91 Westy. Nice to see a run through of your vehicle compared to years past. Its interesting how these things evolve. Some things work , some things don't work. I'm constantly experimenting on mine. Good to see you back in good spirits and roaming about again.

You made some great upgrades of your van. The tinting on the window is a great idea. It would be terrible to have all those great windows and have them blocked out by some opaque material. Thank you for this updated tour.

tint is good ,now get the insulated blackout cutains when it's cold and deffinantely keep the window lickers out

Just found your channel this is dope. Most of the videos I see like this are new vehicles so it’s cool to see an old vehicle rocking. We don’t have the Weatfalia here in New Zealand
I aim to do it some day, leave everything behind and hit the road,hopefully sooner than later.

Hi Chad. Nice to see you posting new Vanlife videos (I initially found your channel a few years back).
My question for you is how you safely store your camera/ video equipment when you are out on the road? Dust and dirt isn't always kind. Additionally, beyond making sure items are not visible, do you ever worry about the theft of your equipment?

When I travel with camera gear, I like to have it packed into a pelican case with foam padding. The pelican cases are dust proof, water proof, and are a great hard shell protection to banging around in the van. As for theft protection, well.... that's where you park in safe areas and don't leave your valuables in the vehicle.
@@LivingTheVanLife install a GPS tracker just to be safe incase the van ever gets stolen i.e your home
The reason I don't do dark tints is because they get pulled over by cops more often. If your a young looking Male your doubly screwed and now your Van's getting ripped apart. I've always found tints to be on the same level as chrome rims when it comes to cops pulling you over
Depends where you are. I've always had dark tint never had an issue as long as you don't do the windshield lol

Awesome van you have mate, love them vw t25s. So much character, maybe a diesel heater would be a better option. You can run them things overnight , with piece of mind, and they are dirt cheap to run, easy to fit, and they also come with a thermostat 👍
