      Dooooood, parts of this trail were definitely sick, LoL! Just got done with this. We cut it up into three days and took our time. Coming down North side of North Carter down to Imp in the rain I found way harder than the terrifying 25 portion going up Wildcat. Can’t wait to get back for more. 😎😎

      I make my Intros short and too the point. Essentially A quick version of the hike for people who don’t wanna sit through it.. I don’t know anything about chapters and sections.. My vlogs are my day hike adventures soo this is how I like to upload them. Also it’s only 21 min at speed two and tapping the right side of the screen Fast forwards 5 to 10 seconds depending on what you select so you can scroll through really quickly to find what you’re looking for :-)

    Great video! Can I ask how you film? I'm in the process of trying to sort out equipment and settings for video for any hiking I do. I have a go pro, and it sounds like you do as well. Do you have it on any sort of gimbal or tripod? What frame rate do you use? Any mics or just internal audio? Your footage looks really smooth, and your audio generally sounds great, aside from when it's insanely windy on the peaks. Final question, what do you do with the camera when you aren't filming, or do you film the whole thing just cut it out in editing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :) Paula

      Gopro hero 8 Black.
      Linear View
      4k 30
      Gopro color.
      I only film the scenes That look visually interesting to me. Gopro batteries don’t last very long. I use one setting down from the highest image stabilization and I use an alligator clip and I clip it to my backpack strap next to my chest.

    Great video Since you've documented the whites you've convinced me to check out the whites as parking in the adks was a f--king nightmare this past summer and will only get worse if the canadians come back next summer.

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 4 роки тому

      Jagrrr227 In all honesty it’s probably just as bad in the whites. I just go ridiculous times that no one else does. I go out for sunrise and sunset hikes which means I am in the parking lot before anyone arrives and I’m pulling into the parking lot when everyone’s leaving

    • @jagrrr2279
      @jagrrr2279 4 роки тому +1

      wow I figured because each range and mountain in the whites has it's own parking it would be better as oppose to places like adk loj and the ausable club that go to many mountains. Sunrise hikes are good but I once showed up to the garden at 1:00am to sunrise big slide and it was completely full 😡😡😡 maybe sunset hikes are better

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 4 роки тому

      It’s really hit or miss. I haven’t been to the Adirondacks this summer more than twice and the Adirondacks are definitely more crowded in the a.m. then the whites though.. But come sunrise those parking lots are full

    Things have been really clean in the Whites from what I’ve seen the past few months. I always carry a plastic bag to put trash I find in 😄 I did Cannon - Cannonballs - Kinsmans this weekend and only found a wrapper and some frozen mittens. And weirdly 2 beanies on tree branches but they looked perfectly usable so I wasn’t sure if someone might come looking for them and I didn’t pick them up 🧐

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 3 роки тому

      I am right there with you on the hats. Unless it looks like it legitimately fell out of someone’s pack are usually leave it because people will usually retrace their footsteps to find it. But if it’s garbage I always pack it out

      @@BrianHikesAllDay That’s not too bad at all. I do think the Kinsman Range area actually has the most trash I’ve seen recently though, I think it’s the proximity to Lonesome Lake if I had to guess. I’ve recently done the Willey Range, Sandwich Range, Franconia Range, and the Hancocks and I’ve seen basically nothing to pick up 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 3 роки тому +1

      I think the reason why the mountains have been so clean is because there are so many incredible people out there picking up trash for everybody else.

    Hey Brian, you wear Altra Lone Peak 4.5 right? I just bought Altra Lone Peak 6 and it came in today and I was wondering do you usually buy hiking shoes a half size up than your normal shoes? Or do you get the same size as your normal shoes? I wear a 10.5 normally but I bought a size 11.

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 2 роки тому

      I’m on my third pair of sixes already. I always buy my normal size. I wear a size 11 and everything. It’s been fine for me. I think a lot of people recommend a half size up. It’s all personal preference through trial and error I suppose
