I saw your recent comment on another video somewhere that you are a catechumen. My father was a convert many years ago and now has been a priest since 1987. If you want any support I can help you with recourses. God bless +
I am a Christian, not just some "protestant", a brother in Christ if you will. My salvation lies with JESUS, and church is not entertainment, I know this. It's for worship and fellowship with other believers. For me, dancing, singing, and laughing is the best way to worship God with other people. This video all seems very mundane to me. "Psalm 100:1-2 A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a JOYFUL noise to the Lord, and all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!
What impresses me, as a catholic, is how the orthodox church was able to conserve its worship service over the centuries while western church wasn't able to do so =/
Glad to know that God loved music back in the old testament days and now he doesn't... I wish all you religious people would just get up and start making some noise for Jesus! Cuz Jesus isn't some person just sitting up in heaven twiddling His thumbs... He's an EXCITING/ALWAYS WORKING GOD! And if making loud music is offensive to you, I could care less... I'm making music to the Lord!!! You can go have your boring liturgical service. :)
@@kivo33 I'm taking a guess on the solo. The choir sang "Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the Lord. God is the Lord and has revealed Himself to us". This is in Slavonic. The solo is probably "Receive the Body of Christ. Taste the fountain of immortality" in Georgian. I generally serve in English, but I can and have served mainly in Slavonic. I also do a little Greek. Thank God that our Liturgy is the same all over the world with minor local variations.
Oddly, I think it is the ecclesiology of the East that helped to preserve its traditions and practices. Without a centralized, supreme church authority (like the papacy) it's much more difficult to make any sort of sweeping changes, or even small changes. lol. It has drawbacks as well, to be sure, but I think most Orthodox would say that whatever benefits there are to the papacy are outweighed by its tremendous liabilities.
Acts 13:2 in the original Greek text describes Christian worship as liturgical. Anything less (i.e. virtually all "Evangelical" Protestant and other sectarian services) is an anti-Christian orgy where all come to have an individualistic and consumerist experience. Protestantism invented its own Bible (throwing out books), invented its own novel theology (sola fide, sola scriptura, etc), and invented its own tens of thousands of "worship" services. Orthodoxy alone is the true original faith!
That is all OLD TESTAMENT. We serve to the NEW TESTAMENT between God and man trough Jesus Christ, and with RULES in His Church. Orthodoxy has the same service from Apostoles. Saint Paul said that God want ORDER in church, nor rock concerts and theater.
Whoever has taught you this stupidity has greatly misled you -- it is actually very sad. You should know that, in the time of the "old testament", the ineffable God was worshipped with blood and incense, both offered by priests on an altar. Please, every time you are tempted to quote that "joyful noise to the Lord" psalm (which has zero to do with how worship in the house of the Lord should be conducted), read the books of Deuteronomy and Leviticus (which actually do) before doing so.
I absolutely love the fluidity of how parishioners can venerate icons and move around without restrictions unlike in many churches today
There are certain times in services when there should be zero movement

Why do you put this down? If they are sincere, what is your problem with it? I bet I know.... your conscience is bothering you.

Doubt it though it's probably related.
