Back during Karazhan VLPS made a really cool Secret Hunter that only ran Secretkeeper, Cloaked Huntress, the Curator, Azure Drake, Highmane, Ragnaros and Barnes as minions, and then all spells. Then they nerfed Call of the Wild and the more classic "face" version of Secret Hunter, more aggressive and with more minions, took over. I loved the Curator version though. It was so fun to play.
Usually that deck doesn't play death, so it's likely he was completely cold to a big body short of making one himself, but he was too low on cards to generate a big enough minion to do so. Additionally, he'd already lost both northshires and used his Lyra so he was out of comeback mechanics. It might look strange but he likely made the calculation that he had a 0%, not even 1% chance to win from that position. Pros usually won't concede when there's *any* chance of winning, but they're also usually quick to recognize when a loss is unavoidable and concede on the spot to save time.
Honestly, he already won the game regardless of what he got off the medivh. He had board and card advantage in addition to a medivh weapon and the likelihood of more draws in the future from the cleric. It could have been n'zoth (think that's the worst one) and he still would have won that game. I actually think this game was decided purely by skill, because VLPS made a couple crucial misplays the turn he played pyro, making his board super vulnerable to a dragonfire. If he had simply played priest of the feast and healed his acolyte, there's almost no way he could lose that game. That was probably the best line, but even if he took the line of drawing cards with pyromancer, there was no reason to play the priest of the feast first (for example, he could draw into more spells and really go off, but instead he had no mana to work with). Even if he doesn't play additional spells and ends up playing PoTF, he'd at least have a body that survives dragonfire and likely be able to close out the game. It's actually a perfect example of how a Hearthstone can still be decided by skill even with many random effects. Randomness was a factor, but it's not always the largest factor and it's sometimes completely irrelevant (like in the case of high-rolling the 10-drop, since even a low-roll would have been enough to create an insurmountable advantage). There is a lot of variance in Hearthstone, but it's definitely overstated by a lot of players who prefer to blame random factors for their losses instead of looking for how a different line might have led to a win despite their opponent high-rolling.
@Brian Kibler The misplay didnt matter at all in the end. You would have just been at 11 health instead of 17 (and later healed to 19, so that would make it 13 if he hadnt misplayed) You dirty ratted then dragonfired. It would have died anyway. MAYBE if he had the madness instead of used it on your radiant elemental AND gotten a power word shield AND a divine spirit off of Lyra to go with the inner fire in his hand. But the chances for that are like... duh, dunno in the 1/thousands The misplay wasn't the actual order of play of the PotF, but in actually playing him. You shadow visioned twice in the prev round. You didn't have a dragonfire potion in hand or else you would have played it on turn 6. You showed a targetted spell on a 3 attack minion before you played the second visions, so he knew that wasn't a potion, but your second vision was an almost instant pick. What's the most instant pick in a situation like that? DRAGONFIRE POTION. Which means the correct play was to heal the acolyte up to 6 potentially leaving him alive. instead of playing the priest for brainless tempo. But yeah, it's 1 minute and 15 seconds (or 20 cba remembering). He doesnt have the time to analyze all that stuff.
Rasmus Juul Svendsen - Probably because it can pull out value/ win conditions from the opponents hand (Elise, N'zoth, Lyra, Auctioneer), and it helps fight quest rogues.
It's complete garbage against shaman and paladin though. I'd recommend doomsayers instead since any deck that wants to play the game for more than 5 minutes should have them.
Agree i really want to see some vids where he is like yeah i got this, and the guy somehow pulls a rabbit out of the hat and beats him, i mean i know its weird for him to do so but still Quite possibly if he uploaded 2 games per video, one win one loss + not always same order so as viewer we don't know what game is waiting for us tho would love to see him upload some magic games too
instead of playing wild pyro he could have healed is acolyte to 7 health so he would have 2 creatures that doesn't die to dragonfire potion, that's even worth
"im going to lose"
"im definitively going to lose"
"alright"
well VLPS missplayed so Kibler got his way to victory
When using a 10 mana spell on a 1 mana minion is the game winning play.
Right
well if you look at the value way you remove your opponent 1 mana and gave yourself one... THAT'S TWO MANA!
Phú Đức Nguyễn wow, what if you mc a wisp? DOUBLE ZERO MANA VALUE!
Nothing new here
"I'm dead"
Proceeds to win the game
That sequencing seemed like a pretty big mistake.
"Lyra Priest" - the least descriptive description of a deck in the current meta
what about mid range paladin
+marceronni "multiple archetypes" might be an understatement. I don't think there's a single meta priest that doesn't run Lyra right now.
Many Dragon Priest deck cut her. She's actually making the deck weaker (arguably more fun though)
The point is it's like saying "Tyrion Paladin" or "Wild Growth Druid".
This is like saying Auctioneer makes the Jade decks weaker. Maybe I don't know the matchups like you do, but Lyra has been absolutely insane for me.
The amount of shadow visions and spells in this game would have made Yogg jump with joy
So he can 1st spell Shadow Strike himself again.
I am running a yogg priest deck and he is consistently screwing me over. Turned a filthy jade druid's auctioneer into a 12/12 and wiped my board.
wwwggxcom Haha that's only happened to me a dozen times 😂
Aika24 When Yogg gives the Auctioneer the best deals 😂
You didn't trust in the Light hard enough.

What does VLPS stand for?
+Lireoec his real name is Victor Lopez
I see! I can see it now. Cheers.
He's also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, so Victor Lopez Pittsburgh Steelers is what it stands for.
The dragonlord Strikes again, Good game Brian
curious what was left in his hand & deck that he'd just concede on the spot at 30 health and even in cards
because hes a "pro player"
Usually that deck doesn't play death, so it's likely he was completely cold to a big body short of making one himself, but he was too low on cards to generate a big enough minion to do so. That background music is SICK! Love it man
Classic Kibler ending.
what music is playing?
Who exactly is VLPS? I've never heard of him.
You sure it's not Kibler vs Evil Kibler clone?
your music choice is amazing
can you do like a top 10 legendarys in your opinion
VLPS looks like that dude from dawsons creek.
He was getting dominated the whole game, then he turns it around a bit, then Deathwing shows up, and that's a win. Hearthstone.

pls more of this deck!!
Why is dirty rat in the deck, the only "combo" i see with him is dragonfire potion, and that leaves it at one health? :)
Because you can pull out numerous battlecry minions from your opponent's hand.

Why do you never upload videos of you losing? The tension is kind of dropping, when you know you're gonna win from the beginning
Agree i really want to see some vids where he is like yeah i got this, and the guy somehow pulls a rabbit out of the hat and beats him, i mean i know its weird for him to do so but still
Quite possibly if he uploaded 2 games per video, one win one loss + not always same order so as viewer we don't know what game is waiting for us
tho would love to see him upload some magic games too
WH OMEGALUL ?
instead of playing wild pyro he could have healed is acolyte to 7 health so he would have 2 creatures that doesn't die to dragonfire potion, that's even worth
he also played Lyra with almost no mana, there are two win conditions in the deck, Lyra and the buffs and he just threw it away
its called tempo. he cant wait for 12 turns for double divine spirit inner fire or lyra double radiant
ouizzeul yea that play cost him the game and heade it for no reason. He didn't need to dmg his PotF at least. Wintrading defined
