Ahhh, if only I knew builders when I was 23. When I broke up with my GF in 1992, her mom gave me a 1972 Merc Marquis Brougham. Other than the tires being dry rotted and an engine mount, it was basically a barn find. Paint was oxidized, and a vacuum advance valve to bring it up to CA emissions, it still was awesome. 429 V8, 4 barrel Thunderjet carb, forget what the transmission was, but it also had early antilock brakes, all power package, towed a Caveman trailer from the Bay Area to Atlanta, it laughed it all off. Made the mistake of letting a stoner roomie drive it to tow a reggae band's equipment and he wrecked it. Since 1992, been driving freebies and handmedown cars and vans since then. You never saw so much tire smoke in your life, and everyone got out of my way so I could get to the shoulder.
Oh yeah, one of the most annoying "features" that car had, was a steering wheel mounted horn strip, in case you doubt the veracity of that story. If you had to take a tight turn and crank the wheel, you'd wind up honking the horn, no matter HOW much care you took in the process.

Let me say this first! Im a restomod guy first and foremost! I watch this channel from time to time because i can't imagine the cost of these builds it has to be radically large!! Okay check this out just listen, do you guys remember a tv show called the 6 million dollar man? What if they told him that they could restore him as was before his accident to normal just as he was or they could make better stronger you know give him super human strength run faster jump higher see better? And by the way its still gonna cost ya 6 million dollars wich one would you choose? 🤔
I bought my 1968 Dart GTS 340 brand new from Bellevue Dodge. It was a beautiful Corvette Met. Blue with matching interior. It had white bumble bee stripes on the back. I turned a 13;9 first time out to S.I.R. raceway in stock form. My ex-wife stole the car from me in our divorce then wrecked it on some railroad tracks in Longview, Wash.
Mine was the 65 Dodge Dart GT with the 273 and Torque Flight. It was in my folk's name so they had me go visit a friend out of town then took it to a dealer and traded it in on something? I don't even remember what they bought? That was 1970. I think they got $900.00 out of it. Their reasoning, it had 98k on it and I no longer needed it because I had just bought a Toyota Truck? Yes, I'm still pissed. They had to sign for it in 65 because I was still a teenager.
Well I'm looking for my first 2cars a 1978 ford Thunderbird diamond jubilee edition it was copper colored with a attempted repair from a keying scratch it had a 400ci engine with a fmx transmission that was bad it was parked in Tacoma WA, next car was my 1957 Chevy 210 4 door project it had true wide white walls it had a 327 with home made engine mounts that bolted to the front of the block it had a turbo 350 transmission exhaust built out of flexible tubbing and a homemade transmission crossmember
Also just discovered the channel. Subscribed and can't wait to binge on the other episodes. Fantastic picture of the owner from the '60s. Gorgeous girl. I've spent a ton on my '67 Mustang. My car is in much better condition than the dart in this video. One word is best used for the cost of this project - ouch.
“Life got in the way.” In many cases though, it wasn’t financial reasons. I can’t tell you how many times people asked me when I was going to get rid of my car. You were essentially expected to sell whatever you had in high school and buy ether a minivan or SUV. Getting rid of the past, and becoming an adult. And once you had a kid, then people REALLY started questioning you more. You can put car seats in these. Why is that so hard to fathom for some people?
My sister owns every car she ever owned, or rode in with a boyfriend. It's a large fleet, and all are kept in running condition. And no, she won't let me drive any of them. I have to rent a car when I go to visit her.
I could have sworn I saw this whole video over a week ago. Insane. I already know everything on it. Either I am insane, psychic (psychotic maybe?) or maybe it is a repost? IDK what is going on LOL.
I don't like the way they label the videos, I agree. Otherwise a great channel. I bought a '71 Challenger in 1973 so yeah, GYC restores better than factory!

Was the slant six in America a small truck motor. The slant 6 in Australia were left over truck engines revamped with a new sump. Best tow car for family with a caravan.
A slopey was a 'eco' car engine for their mid size cars. That also turned up in a few full size cars as well. It came in 3 sizes in the states 170 195 and 225,, wisely Chrysler Oz only used the 225. Chrysler Oz still assembled US models here in Adelaide up to aroung 66-67.Some for the Americans are odd!! Though I have seen [from the states] a pov pack full size Dodge with 225 and 3 on the tree. A barge Fairlane 3 door with 6 cyl 3 on the tree. A Camaro 6. Or a 350 3 on the tree Camaro with drum brakes. I own a 71 Galaxie LTD which the base engine in the US was the 240 6. The few we got here were all Oz assembled and V8, both 302 and 400. And ofcourse GM assembled Chevs and Pontiacs here until around 61 with 6cyl 3 speeds.

Love the tire choice think the old ones were bad I had some that were bought at JC penny in 70 that actually had JC penny right on them.
My dad has a 79 z28 and I would love for him to see it restored before he passes but it money is always a problem
Thank you for what y’all do!
A friend had a 69 Coronet with a 318 topped with a 4barrel armband a different gear plate in the trans . That thing ran like a beast. It started out as a businessman's car. Complete with a radio and an 8 track that you could play normal cartridges in or record notes to a blank it was that wierd olive green gloss. I wish I could find it and restore it as a tribute to him. That or the 60 something chevy van that had a straight six battery under the passenger seat in a compartment under the floor. It had no seats in back but we fixed her up with a mattress and curtains and enough speakers to rock that thing.
That is one cool Dart!
OMG FEBRUARY 7th, 1968 IS MY BIRTHDAY! WTH???? THIS MUST BE A SIGN! :)
MOPAR.....................OR NOCAR!......I happen to have a 77 Cordoba and a 1971 Javelin AMX in my stable to be restored too!
The us version of car sis, really nice and great job
Daytonas are so rare that all should be restored eom specs if not survivors, not adding stypid wheels and other stuff.
Mopar trivia..love the t-shirt
I wish I could find my 68 plymouth fury 3 in weston Oregon it was last seen there in 1998. It haf no windshield. Sold it to a kid there in 1998 miss it a lot
Our!!! How much time!! I watched this program on the discovery channel here in Brazil. It was Mark Worman, Daren Kirkpatrick, Royal Yoakum, Josh Rose and Holy Chedester. Mark was going to rebuild a factory pink 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee for his granddaughter. It came to show him buying the car. Too bad it stopped playing for us here in Brazil, it was a real lesson in how to renovate a classic car. I hope that the reality show will air in Brazil again. / Nossa!!! Quanto tempo!! Espero que volte a passar o Reality show no Brasil.
I really enjoy this show, from the Grave to like new is commendable sir
I may be 17 but I know a cougar when I see one, and the vert Dodge Dart lady is definitely one
Ever see a 1970/demon with a six cylinder with bucket seats an auto on floor green metallic .we had that car at age 13
MY FIRST CAR WAS A 1979 PLYMOUTH VALARIE WITH THE DUSTER SPORT PACKAGE.
You should build a tribute car to the one that was crushed
Got a awesome friend whom is 95 years old. He has a beut of a car in his shed from 1945
I bought my 1968 Dart GTS 340 brand new from Bellevue Dodge.
Sound dentner on the doors before regulator install?
that guy is the Michael Scott of car restauration
I thought the exact same thing 😅
They are all nice cars if you ask me it's absolutely brilliant show.
would like to know the name of the salvage yard in san antonio you mentioned
Can anyone tell me what season and episode this was?
MY JEEP HAS THE VIN NUMBER ON ALMOST EVERYTHING INCLUDING MOST OF THE GLASS.
Did you put sound deadener on the roof before the headliner went in?
Wish my uncle felt that way about his 69 GTX sitting in the field at grandma's farm.
I wonder if Mr. Worman would build the Interceptor from The Wraith.
How do you find a car without the Vin number?
ypu really dont.
She is lucky, how often does somone runs into a old love or bff? I miss my SAAB 9-3 and hopefully I can get to run into it again one day.
Mark should go get the hearse from sar and give it some love. Its lookin pretty sad
That’s always been a dream of mine is to find my fathers 69 Pontiac GTO and drive it to his house and throw him the keys.
So cool. So 40 years it was gone.
Ice IceBox Baby right Mark your the IceBox.
All I see with that Daytona before being restored is Joe Dirt’s “pile”. 😂 please tell me it had a footprint gas pedal.
What season and episode was this from? Thanks
What a cool story about the dart
What became of the 68 GTS convertible?
Mark your one cool man there's now other sir like u a I love you like u are sir . Later sir
I’d say the way this one ended it got squashed by the mobile car crusher for scrap metal like so many of our iconic muscle cars did. 🤨
MAKE SURE THE HEAT WORK'S.
I could have sworn I saw this whole video over a week ago. Insane. I already know everything on it. Either I am insane, psychic (psychotic maybe?) or maybe it is a repost? IDK what is going on LOL.
Nope i had the same idea i watched it on last thursday
I don't like the way they label the videos, I agree. Otherwise a great channel. I bought a '71 Challenger in 1973 so yeah, GYC restores better than factory!
hello friend you may have seen it on tv first then someone puts it up on UA-cam
@@devinwhitlock5918 Might be possible but absolutely not for me. I don't even own a TV or have cable/satellite. I have never watched these guys except on UA-cam lol.
I think the original factory rims look better then those chrome rims on the orange dodge Daytona of my opinion
This is a re-upload of “family heirloom found in forest”. This channel has amazing content and shouldn’t need to put up the same videos under different titles.
Crazy how the son was the 1 that found it😳
Was the slant six in America a small truck motor. The slant 6 in Australia were left over truck engines revamped with a new sump. Best tow car for family with a caravan.
Yes it was, also used in vans.
@@ldnwholesale8552 used to see them doing the 1/4 mile in good times at the drags.
@@ldnwholesale8552 I'm an Adelaaid boy and remember the old Chrysler plant.
