Great video Tony, just one thing, my daughters speak, Chinese, and the correct way to say the radio name is the X is said as SH, so everyone says Zygoo, and it should be Shygoo. Keep up the good work with QRP demos.
Don’t have a Chinese HF rig but that one looks cool and I like the features. I’ve wondered whether or not it has CTCSS/DCS for 10/6 meter FM repeaters (for here in the U.S.) but since I haven’t ever heard it mentioned I assume it doesn’t but I think it’s still a cool radio. 👍🏻
The overall finish looks really refined, nice tooling on the case. I have the x5105 and recently the x6100 pretty sure I will get this one as well. Love that antenna, does the 6100 also have that cool FT8 feature?
Seeing the SWR and Tuner would be nice. Went out for a POTA a few weekends ago and the G90 was able to take the place of unplugging/replugging a RigExpert. I could have my son change the length of the telescoping mast and I'd see the change on the SWR sweep as soon as he backed away 10ft. Does this have something similar?
From the size of it, it looks like it would be suitable to power a motor launch... Try Eremit for some really good SOTA /POTA batteries, I use them all the time.
What bands can you operate on I'm only technician right now can you operate on 2 meters 70cm 10 meters and so on I really love the radio and I'm thinking about getting me one please let me know i would greatly appreciate it kc8rbl is my call
Ok obviosly this is for testing the radio, but as someone that is thinking about geting into tha ham radio hoby it seams all videeos only show qsus about antannas and rekatied gear, is it considered bad form to talk about anything else on air? Don't gerpt me wrong I fully understand that radio realated talk will for obvious reasons be of the gratest interrest but when you meet interresting people from interresting locations you mightveanna stray to som general questions about that country and dayly life ther is that ok?
I understand that they want to sell as many x6200s as possible but... For me the x6100 is perfect. With the Russian firmware i can RX AND TX ON FT4/FT8. cheaper radio, 5-10watt. Be honest about everything please.
@@JJ-el8li R1CBU has cancelled the developpment of that firmware and is thinking about making an open transceiver, since he has enough of Xiegu's coding and hardware!

Nice one Tony. If anyone ever doubted QRP operation, they should watch one of your videos. Have a good weekend mate.
Thanks. I’m trying to learn a little before my 6200 gets here. I have one preordered here in the US.

Looking forward to seeing the production unit and what the expansion slot has to offer :-)
@@qrphfradio7753 looks like the production model doesnt have a slot :-( sad times
Looks like a very nice radio, can you zoom into the waterfall?
Love to get one
Many thanks for review 👍
Great video introduction. Thank you
It look great would like my x6100 not used yet + cash adjustment
Great brick
can this radio also receive AM stations and FM stations?
Yes, it will receive; AM, FM, LSB, USB, CW & RTTY.

Did you manage to replace the internal battery of your x5105? Regrettably mine is nearly done. Besr regards!

is that battery suitable for powering the yaesu 891 for SOTA & POTA?
I have that same battery and it is works perfectly with a FT-891.
@@John_Ai9D thank you. how long do you get from a full charge?

Since that is a software based radio, why don't they build the antenna tuner into it?
It DOES have an internal antenna tuner built in!
what does it being an SDR have to do with an ATU?

Yes, when on air, you ask any questions that you wish. We hope you do get into Amateur Radio in the near future.

I agree. The 6200 features and quality are not enough to justify the change with R1CBU firmware for the 6100.

You need a fuse in that battery lead!
The battery has a BMS system that cuts output if shorted or overdrawn..
where is CW?
It's too bad that this transceiver is mainly designed for SMS and a little SSB.
but it's too big for a smartphone.
Christ, and here's me with my FT-65 thinking I'm Richard Burton in Where Eagles Dare....
'Broadsword calling Danny Boy'
That's a ridiculous battery for qrp
I'm sure it will be used with other radios too. It fits in his bag and I would expect it's light as it's lipo. Why buy separate batteries?
Very true - I use Eremit batteries with my G90. They fit easily in a pocket, have BMS and last at least 3 or 4 hours per charge/ SOTA activation.
Great vid & tnx for posting! 73 de WA4ELW in TN 🇺🇸 dit dit 😃
