    Looks like that rectangular pad may be too tall. I've only seen them used if liquid metal is used. I would use a mechanic's straight edge warp checking tool to check the height of the thermal strips or if some other parts are too high or too low. Could this AIO be an RMA item?

    ive got an alphacool block on my xc3 3080. it is alphacool's update to the reference style block jufus used years ago on his 3080 xc3 video. its doesn't leak, temps are fine, computer is silent. still was a pain to get good temps due to similar issues to this video. i measured all the standoffs around the die at 3.5mm height. then checked the length of the screws against the standoff thread depth. i decided to use some thicker washers to make sure the screws weren't bottoming into the standoffs. the screw look like this once the springs are removed [==---- this can allow the fatter non threaded portion to bind against the standoff before megastable op can be realized.

    I had the same issue with this block for Gigabyte Gaming 4090 OC. Fortunately in my case it were just too thick pads on VRAM. Used thinner there and all went great then.

    So I know it’s not the exact same but I just built my first custom loop and used an alphacool core block for a tuf 4090. It was made super easy. Instructions were amazing pads were precut and made easy and thermals are great. The color coordination on the pads honestly made the whole process not scary.

      well yeah, using the stuff you built yourself is fine, its this "aio" crap some of the water cooling company's make that tends to be crap vs the AIO/Air makers.

      This is not the same as just a water block tho. This is with a whole pump and rad. This product not great but I use a core block and itself works fantastic. If you go based of 1 product not being good then don’t buy anything from anyone bc they all have had a bad product.

    I tried the same product for the FTW3 3080ti and it was worse than the air cooler, I think the problem is that pump it has, I was doing 75 c° and after putting a D5 ekwb at about 50% of the speed I was doing 40 c°

    I always hear their blocks perform better than the others companies, and when i bought mine, i thought, maybe i should make my rig ALL alphacool. Started researching their site, products, and youtube channel and was turned off so fast on all their other products. Everything just looked like dated products from the 80s. I am not the least bit surprised by this AIO from them being bad. Look at those fans, they look like a snap together model plane propeller from the 80s.

    so alphacool blocks for gpus are pretty good. i appreciate the price on 4090FE block big time... one thing that they do is pre cut and LABELED pads and really good instructions. the other thing they do to save money... incase you didnt know... that is NOT nickel coating.... its CHROME on copper! it has the same effect as nickel but at a cost that is MUCH MUCH LESS than competition.. because buying a 400 dollar waterblock in my opinion is RIDICULOUS! its pc hardware... not jewelry. just my opinion. ive had really good luck with alphacool

      @FTLN 4 місяці тому

      You got lucky, I also had the AIO for the 1080ti and the pump failed within weeks due to air lock I presume, customer support was terrible, had to send back for RMA, they didnt even give me a new one, they fixed the one I sent them, the pump continued to make a horrible clicky noise for the next couple of years before failing, and they refused warranty (EU) when I asked them for support as I was outside the 2 years warranty period. Stay away from alphacool pumps and waterblocks, their radiators are pretty good though.

Ive run so much Alphacool stuff its ridiculous, and still do..only thing that happened to me was an rgb ring on my reservoir went out prematurely but i abuse tf out of my stuff so it might have been my fault also... love alphacool... just as good if not better than EK for much less money... i also like they are always the first to bust out a gpu cooler and have a gpu configurator and easily found instructions... ive never used those washers on blocking a gpu...
    I would at least Alphacool make it right before condemning them as a company not to buy from..
