For at least 2 weeks. Yes I do. You can place an elastic band on the lace around your head before bed.

I have a small head too and the lace is way too much by my ears. It causes dumbo ears and discomfort. How to I cut this area

Try the wig on and then cut the lace and hair that overlaps your ears.
