VOICES AT WAR

The film “Voices at War” by Ulrich Schreiber was produced as part of the worldwide reading of Ukrainian literature on February 24, 2024, the second year of the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The participants are Jurij Andruchovitch, Svitlana Bondar, Iryna Fingerova, Marie Iljašenko, Iya Kiva, Halyna Kruk, Andrei Kurkov, Dmytro Lazutkin, Vasyl Makhno and Marina Sorina from Ukraine, Dan Sociu and Varujan Vosganian from Romania, Halldór Gudmundsson from Iceland as well as Nora Bossong, Daniel Kehlmann and Jan Koneffke from Germany. In Copenhagen, Yerevan, Calcutta, Milan, Zaporizhia, Odesa, Berlin, Bucharest and other cities, texts by Ukrainian authors were presented, including poems by Volodimir Vakulenko, Victoria Amelina and Maksym Kryvtzov, who died in the war. The film was supported by the Jan Michalski Foundation, the presentations by the Goethe Institut.
