This is so scripted. That was a newer mine, not a WWII tunnel made by the Japanese. In a climate like that the timbers used for the shoring would have been rotted if it dated to 1944-45. Also, they would have used a hand held Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) for detecting the air quality before entering the mine. Years ago there were true documentaries on Yamashita's Gold. There was as much a a billion dollars of gold (in today's prices) hid by General Yamashita. There is highly likely some gold still undiscovered but most of the gold was either found by the dictator Marcos or stolen by Marcos' secret police from other treasure hunters.
They found the treasure that was in the mountain but the show never returned for season 2 so what's going on ? I would not be surprised if the government swooped in and took control of all of the gold and other treasures in that mountain but why the hush hush on the what was discovered?
Season 2 begins today, Tuesday 28 April 2020. Did anyone else notice that the 'sledge hammer' found in this clip is very similar to those discovered on 'The Curse of Oak Island'?
That's probably where it came from all these shows are associated one way or another all searching and no treasure.

This show was on TV one or two years ago and they finally found a way into the mountain that they decided was the place that the treasure was being stored. At the very end and the last show they show themselves going into the mountain but you never see what they find other than some crates. It doesn't come back for another season so I imagine they were shut down by the government and all the stuff in the mountain was seized. It is probably held up in court now.
Tunnel found not build by JIA,this tunnel was build by local scale miner,japanese army they not using timbers for tunnel,this area posible have a natural gold.

I been at philippines on 1997 at sagada and I remember the feeling secret gold after ww2 on the place with Japan
Yamashita's Gold.
First off, Yamashita was a General of ground troops. The defenses against gaining entry into the cave system would be an ambush from the start.
All of the obvious entrance points into the tunnel system are actually exit points that Yamashita would have fortified very heavily, just like obvious paths through a mountain pass that are easy to use.
Yamashita would have used the terrain of the moubtain on the flanks of the tunnel system to create a nearly impentrable jungle that would deter any treasure from drilling into the sides of the mountain to get at the gold.
Like I said all of the obvious entrance points into the tunnel system are all traps.
To defeat Yamashita you have to go through the jungle of the rock that is the mountain sides which will be nearly undefended by any type of water traps at all.
Just like Hacksaw Ridge, you're gonna have to go through the jungle of rock that is the mountain side to flank Yamashita.
radar ping posts should have been used to map the mountaindls. Ping Posts are basicallly seismic sensors that pound the ground with a plunger device. If there is a hollow cavity in the rock the echo will travel down the cavity, or tunnel to another sensor that picks up the ping.
If the ping is loud then there is less obstruction for the sound to travel through compared to less sound due to solid rock.
Also when searching for Imperial Japanese Gold in the mountains you have to take spiritual man and woman with you to clear out the ghosts of soldiers left behind.
The ghosts will be scared and angry at having been left behind to die. The man and woman spiritual team vrought in the local community will be able call the trapped spirits home and to their final place of rest.
Otherwise when their bones are discovered the Skull Trap is sprung as the ghost attacks the treasure seekers which will cause even more apprehension to take place causing the treasure hunters to lose focus and trip other traps that they would have noticed if the ghosts had been drawn from the mountain before hand.

That area was already been explored, maybe late President Marcos ordered. It happens during his term mostly during Martial Law. Fighting those left in the mountainous area was maybe just a front. His true intentions was to recover the fraction of those infamous Yamashita Treasure hidden in mountains all over The Philippine Archipelago.

most yamashitas treasure entrance can be found under the big tree that they plant (atleast 80 yrs old tree) or water falls.
