This was an early show in her tenure, so it seems to me like them pulling the curtains open on their "new" singer, introducing her to the Wacken 82,000!! And, boy, did she deliver, aned has ever since! Other great moments at Wacken 2013: 1. Emppu hpooing during the breakdown in Ghost River - (my all-time favorite). 2. Emppu unplugging Floor's in-ear monitors in "I Want My Tears Back" after plotting with Troy in the beginning. When Emppu returns to his place, Floor stares him down and it looks like the cat catching the mouse as he passes. Notice how the Electric Hobbit figures in all three? He's so bloody entertaining, running around the stage as he does, and playing with the audience. Love your reactions, you are quickly becoming one of us.

Also, a lot (if not most) of the 82,000+ people at this concert had never heard Floor before. One hell of a way to introduce them to the Goddess.
Great reaction! This was her introduction to Nightwish's big European fan base. She had been with the band about 10 months here but had mostly only been performing in North and South America. They had done a few small shows in Europe before this but this was their first big festival with Floor. Many people in the audience were familiar with Floor from her previous bands After Forever and Revamp and were anxious to see how her and Nightwish would mesh and sound. As you can see she strode out on that stage, took charge of that crowd and has never let go.
I was there. It is now almost 10 years ago now...believe it or not, I still get some strange kind of water in my eyes watching these videos now and then.

And that is how you open a show!!🤘🤘The song is from the 2004 Once album, the 5th and final record with Tarja. The song was also the opener at 2005 Helsinki (End of an Era DVD), Tarja's last Nightwish show. The words Dark Chest of Wonders appear on the dedication page of a 1978 Stephen King novel. Floor had been with the band about 10 months here in Aug 2013. Her first Nightwish show was in Seattle October 1, 2012. What they meant by correct speed is that the Blu Ray version has an error in it ,making the playback about 4% slower. There are some videos on UA-cam that were taken directly from the Blu Ray. Fantastic reaction , The list you have is the whole show in order with all the talking to the crowd between songs . I suggest you follow the link it's AMAZING from the 1st song (you just watched) to the 15th last song
The setlist is chock full of hits and reworked favorites to take advantage of Floor's talents and appeal to not just a Nightwish-friendly audience but a festival audience some of whom may not have either heard the band or not heard the band without Tarja/Anette. Nice reaction, this concert is a keeper for many reasons.
You can see in Tuomas's facial expressions just how happy he is with Floor and this crowd reaction, as was the rest of the band. Smiles threw out the whole concert. 10 months earlier they thought they were going to have to cancel their World Tour. Enter Floor, and they never looked back!
Great reaction to one of the best concert openings I’ve ever seen. Ladies and gentleman…start your engines. The show has begun.😀🤘 What a “blow your mind” way to start a show! You should definitely check out Shudder Before the Beautiful live at Wembley… another amazing mind blowing Nightwish concert opening🤘🤘
Dark chest of wonders, Wacken 2013, when Nightwish grabbed the audience by the short and curlys from the off and didn't let up for nearly two hours, it's a stunning performance when viewed in full
I knew you would love this opener. These are great video quality from Nightwish Arena YT channel. I would go back with you Dom. Then I would leave you to rock alone as you have expressed your preference. Welcome to the ranks. I look forward to the next one. Next up as you heard to intro from Marko. "You know this one". One of Nightwish big hit singles from 2004. "Wish I Had an Angel."
I’m changing my preferences depending on the company lol! However I do tend to get lost in the music but having queue buddies & barrier mates can make it much easier to pass 10 hrs waiting for a band lol.
@@themetalmuse If you express your change of preference in some of your reaction videos, I am sure you would have a line around the block offering to accompany you. However, at a Nightwish show the people are so friendly. It is like going to a celebration of music with 1000's of your best friends. What a rush of adrenaline. Have you ever stood in a huge crowd experiencing spine tingling goosebumps with tears in their eyes all experiencing a feeling of ecstasy. I know, a little over the top. 😁
Yes! Nightwish really knows how to open a show. I have no problem with you just hitting play on the next song 😁 "Wish I Had an Angel" is next, then "She Is My Sin". After that another epic banger, "Ghost River". It just keeps getting better and better.
Dom, I've only got one thing to say: Best. Concert. Opening. EVER. Edit: Dom, whoever said Floor "had just joined the band" is incorrect: Floor had been with the band since October 2012 (I believe she joined Nightwish on 28 September 2012). She had already finished out the US leg of the tour, which is when she joined, and had already performed Ghost Love Score in Buenos Aires, Argentina (which vocally, is a rougher, less refined version of Ghost Love Score than Wacken -- it's less polished), in November or December of 2012. To see how this happened, I would watch the Nightwish documentary "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours," as that documentary actually shows the 2012-2013 tour, despite not having any Wacken footage in it.
The Buenos Aires concert was 2 months after Floor had joined the band. First time Ghost Love Score was performed by Floor was October 10, 2012, in Austin, Texas.
LOL, the lie that will never die. Floor had been with the band for like 10 months at the time of the Wacken 2013 show. And she became an official Nightwish band member along with Troy right after this show. "Learn the setlist in 48 hours" documentary shows how Floor learned the setlist back in November 2012 after she was asked to fill in for Annette during the US tour.
Hello again, Dom. Yes, this is one hell of a show opener. By the way, you are using the best version of the entire setlist... thanks to Nightwish Arena for the wonderful remastering. I am loving your Nightwish reactions to this legendary show. Next up... Song #2... Wish I Had an Angel. Nightwish Army Phoenix fan here for you. Thank you.
@@themetalmuse Hi muse! They were just amazing, haven't seen them since 2005! Floor, a cancer beater and 6&1/2 months pregnant was unbelievable. Always smiling, always headbanging, always thankful to the crowd. She, definitely won our heart, since, if you don't know, Greek crowd had and still has a very special connection with Tarja, the 1st singer. If I'm not wrong, IRON MAIDEN are coming in Glasgow. I don't know if you 'll attend but if so, you may have the chance to listen to "Alexander the Great" which was recently (for the first time) got in their setlist. I've seen them 5 times and I never heard it live, haha! Greetings and love from Greece and remember to dig into EPICA, my 12yrs old metalhead daughter's favorite! Since you love symphonic metal and growling, I think you'll love them!
Reacts to Joelma when he was a member of the band Calypso live in the Amazônia (Brazil) in 2004. And then he reacts to Joelma in his solo career live in the Amazônia in 2022 (Block 1 and Block 2). She is considered the greatest performer in Brazil, and one of the few who don't use playback, her face is swollen because she contracted Covid 4 times and her blood was clotting, but even so she managed to record this DVD, like almost 50 years. From Rio de Janeiro!
So happy you doing this, I will be listening to every performance with you. UR doing a fantastic job with everything, picture quality is outstanding and the sound quality is jam up fantastic. Exciting 😊
One of Floors first performances with Nightwish. She was nervous but did she deliver? Ohh Yes she did:))) This was 9 years after the last time I visited Wacken. I`ve been there 6 times:) Between 1998-2003
In that outfit yours is definitely a dark chest of wonders 😋 Stupid jokes aside - great reaction. Yeah, it's a great show opener. Another great opener is "Shudder before the beautiful", which opened their show 2015 in Wembley (another must) It's not that floor just joined, this was August 2013,floor joined in the first leg of the nightwish your in October 2012. But definitely, difficult songs to sing and she gave the songs her own flavor from the very beginning. She's a one of a kind singer.
@@themetalmuse I actually had a very short email exchange with her back in the 90s when she was still in after forever. She's a very nice person (but also, one better doesn't disrespect her, because she also won't take any BS 😂, as it should be, nice and kind but with a lot of character)
if you want to, watch "Learn the setlist in 24 hours". It gives a interesting behind the scenes of what all heppened, and how Floor became the lead. It's a full length docu so be ready, lol!
Amazing song, amazing show, Imagine being there and experience Floor live the first time, BUT! She's been with them for approx 10 months when this was recorded. I actually saw them in Stockholm 2 days ago and am still amazed by the performance, such good musicians.
Hey Dom, you are so right by asking if anyone who was at that Wacken 2013 Nightwish experience, if they were aware what they were seeing and hearing and feeling. Epic, life changing, with Floor being introduced to the world, and with Marko😢
Hi, Dom great video reaction I'm a Nightwish fan and I think that you might like another Symphonic metal band called Epica with lead singer Simone Simons. For me the best way to be introduced to them is, to watch their 10th anniversary retrospect live concert especially Sancta Terra, Unleashed, just to mention a few. The whole concert for me is as good as Nightwish's. Wacken Open Air, as impossible as that might seem. You never know you just might find that you agree with me. Once again great work.
This was the #1 song in the set list, so it kicked off the concert. People who hadn't seen Floor before would now be seeing her for the first time with Nightwish in most cases. To say she was winning us over from the start would be an understatement. The next song is "Wish I Had an Angel". I was there - it didn't take long to get a feeling this was epic. Floor was NOT yet a member. After Anette was fired in Sept/Oct 2012, NW asked Floor to finish the tour (ending Aug/Sept 2013) it didn't take long after that for the band to decide ask Floor and longtime session person Troy to join the band. The announcement was planned to be held towards the end of the year, but it got out early and the band wasn't really upset about it. It just caused a flurry of press inquiries and interview requests. When asked what the deciding factors were for him, Marco said that Floor was professional, yet was flexible and an easy fit for the band. Part of the problems that led to Anette being fired was that NW was growing in popularity exponentially, and she was having health complications and there was some strife in the band. Anette later got pregnant, and this also caused some friction. Anette wasn't able to get to as many practice sessions. This had been a friction point with Tarja before she was fired. It's likely that the band felt that everybody should be fully committed to the band as it grew. Tarja had made it clear that she had no desire to expand further. Anette did make an honest effort, however she fell ill enough that she missed practices. It's likely that Marco called her unprofessional, but he would later apologize to her and wished her well (she became a nurse and does her own music as she sees fit). Floor seemingly likes to practice. Also, the band has taken a different attitude regarding the band being the only life - many, if not all are married (don't know about the new people - Floor is, Tuomas is). Now we will see what the tour pause does. It's also likely that NW is finally wanting to focus on the last album before a final tour. The band members are spreading out and working more on their individual properties. Tuomas has worked more on his side projects, including one with his wife. Floor is everywhere and will soon be a new mom again. Marco has not quit singing (just with NW) - he just wanted out of the grind to get his mental health treated and to welcome a new child from his SO and to play music without the interference of record producers. NW members aren't getting any younger and may choose different ways to distribute music - technology evolves and they've already dabbled in alternatives during COVID. This doesn't have to be the end of NW, it could be the beginning of a new musical era. The 2015 concert in Tampere was epic and Floor's parents were in attendance (I was there also). You should also check out performances in Buenos Aires (2018) - those were great from what I've seen on video. "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was the first of a three album arc. This was followed by "Human::Nature". The next album is the one they plan to work on next. EFMB had some very beautiful songs (from just before the Tampere concert - so you can see them there, but BA fans are crazy good judging by the video).
Hi Dom, greetings from a southerner 😁 Just continue down your playlist. It sounds like it is following the set list as I recognised the next song Marko was introducing was "Wish I Had An Angel" How did this show opener compare to other bands you have seen?
Well seeing this on video compared to live it is super hard to say. But the power that comes through the video is so intense. I can't imagine how it would be live.
I believe it is time for the Nightwish Army to Kickstart a campaign to get our one and only Metal Muse her own version of the Floor Jansen Wacken costume. Not that the latex is a bad choice. It is tremendous and a wonderful video accompaniment. Latex, good but leather better? Lol. Thank you Dom. Always a pleasure.
Watching the front row at the stage I always have this thought... some of them are famous figures in comments! Wonder what are they doing now? Are they still into Nightwish? And I really wish I was there at the time!
Ah, Mme. Muse, often a second bite of the cherry when you did into Tuomas' lyrics, he writes from observation and experiences. You know he has some well used pseudonyms for himself in lyrics with references thereto, so when you have boy, poet, dreamer, writer/song writer or ocean soul in a lyric, it is Tuomas referencing himself. The dark chest did and maybe does still exist, Tuomas as a small boy found it in his grand parents attic full of toys and story books that carried his imagination off in excitement to all manner of wondrous places. Therefore throughout this song Floor sings "one with a pure heart" in a very high head voice, just as you might expect from an excited small child, that being Tuomas himself. Now look at the lyrics again and it all makes sense, Tuomas never includes notes or lyrics that are "fillers" or embellishment, it is all there for a very good reason, sometimes almost impenetrable or ambiguous. "Of the one with pure heart, once so long ago".

Yes, this is the correct version 👍 The official bluray was indeed in wrong tempo (few percentages), because 44.1kHz to 48kHz timing conversion or 24 vs 25fps mishap in production of the bluray. Also every video on Nightwish official youtube channel is correct speed. Actually about this Wacken concert, you can find lot of "correct speed" versions of this full concert here on youtube, but i'm not sure how many are copies of copies (pixelated). I made a original "speed corrected" version about 3 years ago, it was a full bluray bitrate + surround sounds etc (over 20gigs), Someone made it the same way (or used mine) and uploaded it to youtube, so its not copy of a copy ua-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/v-deo.html

The wonder of Nightwish continues. 🙂 Well worth the journey. One of my two favorite bands! I'll second my recommendation that you check out a live performance from Lovebites. Being a metal fan, you really owe it to yourself to do so. It's so hard though to suggest which one. They cover a spectrum of metal and Asami sings a bit differently this one vs that. I don't think they have a bad song, but what to suggest? I'm going with Awakening - Hammer of Wrath, the encore opener from 2020: ua-cam.com/video/otJZPUCwyOM/v-deo.html Hopefully this is not a bad choice. If you want thrash, power metal, progressive, Asami singing alone just with a piano to start what will seem like a ballad, a song that could have and should have been a hit in the 80s - they have it all!
Ah people keep suggesting LoveBites and they're on my to do for sure. But I am so swamped with work, life, gigs and trying to get through Wacken setlist. Finding the time is a nightmare right now.
@@themetalmuse No worries. Life comes first! I sometimes can't remember who I have recommended Lovebites too, so sometimes I suggest them twice. It's less that I am impatient and more that I am forgetful lol. I absolutely will remember that I suggested them to you though, because you're a metal-specific channel. I figure you'll get around to them when you do. 🙂
It’s a shame the producers of this Wacken concert spent so much time on crowd shots and constantly hopping around. You miss a lot of the performance artistry and stage interactions among the band members. I’d prefer to watch Nightwish rather than people in the crowd mugging for the camera. A little crowd footage for “atmosphere” and “local color” goes a long way IMO. And in this instance I think it took something away from watching - or trying to watch - the performance.
Can you Give some money for Nightwish? Or you doing money on somebody content? Can you even sing or something? If your work is about talented People without % of ther skills pls stop do thhat, its toxic.
Em well seeing this channel isn’t monetised and I’ve zero intention of ever doing that how about no?? And, further more I’ve got many talents, ones that let me earn a living as a creative, but it is not singing, however I think I’m allowed to show love and appreciation for this band without paying for the privilege to do so. Also there is no copyright issues on the video I used, which means the person sharing it wants other people to use and share. 😂

It's such a keeper, like defo one you can revisit over and over.
Portuguese Chapter of the Nightwish Army. Welcome to a change on your life
LOL totally has! My spotify is being dominated by the songs I have reacted to do far. So hard to resist the urge to just binge Nightwish.
Great reaction to one of the best concert openings I’ve ever seen.
Ladies and gentleman…start your engines. The show has begun.😀🤘
What a “blow your mind” way to start a show!
You should definitely check out Shudder Before the Beautiful live at Wembley… another amazing mind blowing Nightwish concert opening🤘🤘
Thank you, lots of people keep recommending Wembly so I will defo do it.
Dark chest of wonders, Wacken 2013, when Nightwish grabbed the audience by the short and curlys from the off and didn't let up for nearly two hours, it's a stunning performance when viewed in full
I am temepted just to do a marathon reaction video lol
@@themetalmuse go for it, I'd recommend wearing a seat belt, it's a hell of a ride
@The Metal Muse Please do just that! Then go back in time to do it again with End Of An Era. Welcome to the Nightwish Army Metal Muse.
The Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen was just about 10 months with Nightwish and wow did she exceed expectations 🤟🏻💪🏻💜🔥🙌🏻👏🏻
She did fab!!!!
😘👍
@@themetalmuse If you express your change of preference in some of your reaction videos, I am sure you would have a line around the block offering to accompany you. However, at a Nightwish show the people are so friendly. It is like going to a celebration of music with 1000's of your best friends. What a rush of adrenaline. Have you ever stood in a huge crowd experiencing spine tingling goosebumps with tears in their eyes all experiencing a feeling of ecstasy.
I know, a little over the top. 😁
The look in the eyes of that girl at 3:24 that's how I felt the whole show.
You were there!!??
@@themetalmuse Yes! It was like a feckin dream.
Yes! Nightwish really knows how to open a show. I have no problem with you just hitting play on the next song 😁 "Wish I Had an Angel" is next, then "She Is My Sin". After that another epic banger, "Ghost River". It just keeps getting better and better.
Quite a few have suggested Ghost River so i feel that has to come next.
Dom, I've only got one thing to say:
Best. Concert. Opening.
Ah ok! Thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you so much Richard! Good to know I am on the right track 😁
NW Army NZ trench division reporting in. Love love your reactions thank you
Thank you! 🤘🤘🤘
Just 2 days to see them live in Athens after 15yrs. Sweet Scotish reaction again! Greetings from Greece!
Cheers buddy! Did you enjoy seeing them?
🙌
So happy you doing this, I will be listening to every performance with you. UR doing a fantastic job with everything, picture quality is outstanding and the sound quality is jam up fantastic. Exciting 😊
Thank you so much!!
One of Floors first performances with Nightwish. She was nervous but did she deliver? Ohh Yes she did:))) This was 9 years after the last time I visited Wacken. I`ve been there 6 times:) Between 1998-2003
I’ve high hopes to go this year if my friend can get me a ticket.
In that outfit yours is definitely a dark chest of wonders 😋
Stupid jokes aside - great reaction. Yeah, it's a great show opener. Another great opener is "Shudder before the beautiful", which opened their show 2015 in Wembley (another must)
It's not that floor just joined, this was August 2013,floor joined in the first leg of the nightwish your in October 2012. But definitely, difficult songs to sing and she gave the songs her own flavor from the very beginning. She's a one of a kind singer.
😆! Also she comes across as very authentic and lovely.
@@themetalmuse I actually had a very short email exchange with her back in the 90s when she was still in after forever. She's a very nice person (but also, one better doesn't disrespect her, because she also won't take any BS 😂, as it should be, nice and kind but with a lot of character)
Amazing Nightwish ❤❤❤❤
if you want to, watch "Learn the setlist in 24 hours". It gives a interesting behind the scenes of what all heppened, and how Floor became the lead. It's a full length docu so be ready, lol!

Hey UK Army!
Try "I want my tears back" from their concert in Buenos Aires 2018. A fabulous performance and another fabulous crowd.
I will thank you!
Amazing song, amazing show, Imagine being there and experience Floor live the first time, BUT! She's been with them for approx 10 months when this was recorded.
I actually saw them in Stockholm 2 days ago and am still amazed by the performance, such good musicians.
I am so painfully jealous !
This is an EPIC show opener. Instant Floorgasm. Keep up the good Work. Love from Sweden.
Very true observation lol 🤘 thank you for watching.
someone: "Why You love Nightwish?"
Metal Muse: "Because WOW"
\m/ nothing more to add :D
Exactly!
Amazing performance!
Couldn't agree more!
Beautiful
Agree such a beautiful song 🙏
This band makes you feel good she's not of this planet they all kick ass more of this band you rock
Entirely agree.
please try: After Forever(Floor;s 1st band)with Dreamflight and Revamp (Floor;s 2nd band) with Disdain
Are those part of the Wacken setlist?
Holy crap
Thank you! Actually they’re a band people keep saying I’ll love so this is maybe my sign!
Oh wow I didn't know all that. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Someone else said this show was like a dr who fixed moment in time
Ah that's an amazing description!
Hi Dom, greetings from a southerner 😁
Just continue down your playlist. It sounds like it is following the set list as I recognised the next song Marko was introducing was "Wish I Had An Angel"
How did this show opener compare to other bands you have seen?
Well seeing this on video compared to live it is super hard to say. But the power that comes through the video is so intense. I can't imagine how it would be live.
I believe it is time for the Nightwish Army to Kickstart a campaign to get our one and only Metal Muse her own version of the Floor Jansen Wacken costume. Not that the latex is a bad choice. It is tremendous and a wonderful video accompaniment. Latex, good but leather better? Lol. Thank you Dom. Always a pleasure.
All of Floors' costumes are "One of a kind". I have some friends who "made" one for themselves for Halloween. Big hit, needless to say!!
LOL thank you! Actually she’s making me want to buy another corset. Maybe next Nightwish video I’ll roll out one of my fav gig corsets 🙌
Watching the front row at the stage I always have this thought... some of them are famous figures in comments! Wonder what are they doing now? Are they still into Nightwish? And I really wish I was there at the time!
I feel you!
I love your style!
Thank you so much 🙏
The lyrics are so beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous 3:05
A couple of frames after that there is a cheeky girl poking her tongue out. Never noticed that before 😂
Me neither will have to go back and check lol.
Thank you!

So true! Well I am on my Wacken journey and there's more to come.
I've seen worse show openers. 😉
Thanks, you rock! 🤘🤟
Thank you!
Go with Wacken. You can't go wrong.
🥳🥳🥳
hey beautiful
Good morning!
I can understand, however, I do enjoy seeing the fans, they're just so happy!
