Hey guys this has been life changing. For real I’m not just saying it. I’ve spent about a year trying to learn and understand business. As an 18 (last year) I had the amazing opportunity to learn about real estate from a very, very successful relative. Ever since then I’ve been looking for a very practical, makes sense approach to the music business and this is it! A huge lightbulb moment. I’m dying to tell my friends and family about this but I’m going to wait and show them 3-6-12 months from now. Thank you guys, I’m not quitting my job tonight but I will definitely not work more than 16 hours barley enough to pay rent. Thank you!!!!! It makes sense now!!

My favorite part was in the minute 4:23 to 7:48 when they started talking about the organization of "Legion", and realize that with a very small resource of staff they had managed to generate such growth until reaching the million, with a growth constant, correctly applying a Marketing strategy.
    That simply explode my mind

Can't thank you guys enough just for this podcast episode. Looking forward to the workshop with Gabe! My immediate Goals are to implement these key elements.
    Biggest Takeaways:
18:00 Starting where you are with the work you have - Learn from fucking up and figuring out what works and what doesn't. NEXT STEPS - Determine your Customer Avatar to reach ideal market and Build your list (Email is Key)
32:00 Click Funnels - Russell Brunson - .com Secrets
1:05 Invisible metrics - I feel like the value this whole segment provides is an example of that.
1:10 MOVING FORWARD THROUGH THE NEXT YEAR - LEARN THE MARKETING SIDE - Take examples from different resources to create what works for you.

Best part is at 38:28 when he talks about trying things and experimenting and failing, while also doubling down on the things that work. The first advice is pretty common and heard everywhere in this industry but the second part has a huge takeaway for me. DOUBLE DOWN on strengths. I have been focusing so hard on developing my skills that I have not mastered yet, that I have been ignoring the ones I have. For example, I rarely DJ anymore even though I am very good because I am focusing solely on learning production. My whole mindset just flipped. I am going to use these marketing tips to promote myself using my DJ skills, to bring people around to my music once my production skills are honed. Thanks a lot for this one guys Big Help.

Man that is so hard to just name one part, whole podcast was full of knowledge and definetly changed my point of view. I think I'll go with 37:37 (whan an even number, it can't be a coincidence) Gabe mentioned this a lot of times throughout the podcast, we as music producers focus too much on just the music and forget about marketing side. Thank you Cymatics for hosting this podcast, honestly it's the most entertaining and useful music podcast out there ! And Thanks to Gabe for sharing THE Sauce :D

My favorite part is at 9:50 when he talks about how you should really love both the creative and business aspects of making music. I feel like that's something that is not talked about enough. It's definitely inspirational to hear someone as successful as Gabe discuss the topic. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the content you guys provide to aspiring producers. 46:16 Less can make better beats, it can sound more cool and vocals can into it, it's not EDM. I liked this part since it clearly states why beats and EDM should be different. I also realized throughout the video that there should be a path that somehow other people can see my things. Thanks for sharing yall stories.

Literally I had no idea about the “how to” with all those tips and methods for beats marketing like funnels and email listings, and first time knowing clickfunnels, hubspot, convertkit, etc...really expanded my horizons entirely. I’m truly into how Gabe explained funnels, and my favorite part is the one from 58:43 to 01:08:18 talking about ‘daily huddle’, all those statistics and numbers about memberships, opt-ins, how math connects, and goals and targets.

One of the most important things for me is to know about marketing almost as much as to know about music. You can be the best at making songs but if you don't know how to reach people it will be very difficult for you to get to know yourself. There are known producers who do not have very good music, but they have a lot of interesting content for their niche, that way they get to know their music. They win on both sides.

  • @socialxn3rdmusic177

18:55 would be my favorite part. I get so antsy about fucking up and failing to the point where I don't put my music out as much. But, failing makes you realize your mistakes and learn to correct them and not make the same mistakes. Also perfecting your craft with business is what makes a big difference. Lately, I've been sending beats to an engineer I met and he loves my beats and I've started making more money doing that and I'm looking into making a store front online. Very informative video. Loved every minute of it. 💯💯💯💯

1:10:10 THIS! This was me! This whole convo has me thinking about all this stuff from another angle. I always kind of assumed you needed a huge company to push you or hire you to get involved but it’s kind of crazy finding out you can start something like this from the ground level. I’m most definitely gonna do a deeper dive on this. Much appreciated guys, it’s always exciting finding there’s another set of options in this field. It’s so easy to get down thinking there’s not enough to go around for everyone. Maybe there is, though 🤔

at 20:00 when you guys talk about actually picturing your demographic you're trying to target. That really gave me an Idea of how to hone in on my marketing strategy because often times what people end up doing is just setting a super broad audience to try and get as much engagement out of it as possible but when in reality you want a really focused audience to get the most out of the money you spend on ads. Again I always appreciate your podcast and hope to see you guys killing it even more in the future.

favorite part: 1:16 showing my new KRK's! haha i sold my old KRK's thinking I just needed more expensive ones but it was a huge mistake. I still haven't found a pair of speakers I know as well so great choice! but really my favorite part was actually 1:16 where you guys said to look at what others are doing and model it.. Great piece of advice.

My favorite part was 38:43 for a producer that is starting, start with click funnels instead of Beatstars. I always though beat start was the first place to start at, definitely going to start with click funnels. Thanks for the gems.

32:20 when you guys talk about what a funnel means in the marketing world. I was definitely one of those people who had no idea what that was hahaa, but yeah pretty much the entire podcast was super informative and helpful

42:09 I have been trying to find something as compact and informative as this to use as a blueprint to success for selling beats. I walked away more willing to put in more work in other fields to live off of what I love doing in my free time. What I find most important (one of the many things anyway) would be; get good at what you love doing, and love doing what you have to do in order to continue doing what you love doing.

There were a lot of valid points, but one of my favourite parts was around 29:29. The idea of leveraging ways of reaching audiences is something I've struggled with because I was eitehr too much of an early adopter that by the time people got on board, I was over the platform(s) OR by the time the channels become popular, I'm already working with a tactic. But, this message is timely as I am starting to leverage a traffic source that is really untapped right now. Your dialogue about this was an AHA to help me continue to take action on this new advertising channel.
Thank you so much. I've been in the music world (mostly as a dj) since 2003, and now I have a 19 month old so I'm getting back to a lot of my roots (production/creation). The speakers will definitely help!
    Continued success. :-)

Obviously this whole video was gold, i took away so much. I think what i learned most was that you shouldnt be making excuses for yourself or holding back in anyway... for instance, i never even thought about using instagram as a platform to connect with people and make an email list! The music industry right now is so limitless, and thanks for explaining so much to me in such a short amount of time, this really was super valuable to me. Ill make my fisrt thoughand in no time at all! Stay lit guys!
