- Join me as I head to the new Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey! This new indoor theme park opened on 25th October 2019 and features a variety of both thrilling and family rides. Once fully operational the park will be home to 5 roller coasters, at present there's 3 coasters in operation.
In this vlog I share on ride POV's from all of the major rides at the park including the steepest drop on a roller coaster anywhere in the world! TMNT Shellraiser features a 121.5 degree drop, 7 inversions and some excellent head choppers. Along with that there's POV's from the Shredder, Nickelodeon Slime Streak and many more of the rides on offer at Nickelodeon Universe.
In this vlog I also take a look at the DreamWorks Water Park that's currently under construction next to the theme park. This huge indoor water park is set to open at some point in the near future!

Pretty sure that balloon at 51:37 is an elevator. I'd have thought it's mainly for disabled guests but it seems quite large so maybe they'll make everyone use it as part of the experience.

I was kind of weirded out by how silent the rides were. Maybe they can put speakers in the cars.

It would be great to have some on board audio!
They could at-least play the theme songs while you're on the ride.

This looks like a fun place to visit and will obviously gain more popularity once the word spreads and all the coasters are completed and fully open and with it the atmosphere will increase. I agree that the lighting packages on the coasters will be really shown to the full effect when it goes dark. Finally, it amazes me how developers and engineers cram so many coasters into such a small place.

Imagine having something like this in the UK. An indoor, all year round attraction would be awesome!

They really made good use of the available space, and once everything is up and running this will be a fantastic little park.
What surprises me however is the amount of rides that are themed to shows that (as far as I know) haven't been aired on TV in years. (Avatar, Invader Zim, Ren & Stimpy, just to name a few)
Great video as always, especially enjoyed the rope course bit which is not something you see in most videos.

Shawn I am kinda new to your channel, I started watching you when you were going on Zadra , you content is absolutely amazing man! Boy do you get around! I never would have thought you would have made it to NJ! Your content in Orlando was second to none!! You really have natural ability to show people the best content out there! I lived in Nj my whole life but moved to Southern California about 3 years ago to get away from the cold grey ugly long winters hahaha Southern California is absolutely beautiful man all year round! Have you ever been to six flags magic mountain? Anyways I went home about 2 weeks ago for the first time and went to the park, wow that TMNT shell raiser is amazing that launch catches you you don’t think it’s going to be that quick and then boom!! I also thought the hang time on it was great! The park is still a working process. I am with you man when everything is open with the water park, all the amazing shops and the restraints and the big indoor snowboarding hill it’s going to be a great time! All great things take time! I really like that they represented some of their better but less appreciated series like Invader Zim and Ren & Stimpy. Good to see they haven’t forgotten about them
Makes me think of Metroland (Metro Centre Gateshead) - that used to be super quiet during weekdays.

I loved metro center when i lived in gateshead ....metroland was great for families and kids but nowhere near as goodlooking as this place .😊

I totally agree that the park would benefit from some more theming. Just some station covering and some tunnels over some sections of track would make a world of difference. I have no idea if Konami would approve of the licensing, but the use of some music/voice lines from Turtles in Time on the SNES would make Shellraiser and Shredder that much better
TMNT Shellraiser couldn't have lap bars due to the combination of the lift hill and launch mechanisms, meant there was nowhere to install the hydraulics for the restraints underneath the seats, meaning it could only be done with OTSRs.

I think adding a log chute ride and a similar ride to “fly over America” like at MOA would make this Nickelodeon place even brighter and better!

Mac&cheese Lover no they are not like wth? I just wish they would add a new ride like shellshocker to moa. The log flume is in so many parks and fly over America is the same idea as saurin at Disneyland.
I’m not sure about this place, feels like it was lacking something, maybe audio or the fact it’s in a massive steel warehouse !! Also anyone else notice the Sky Train breakdown behind Shawn in the last bit of footage lol !?

good thing about indoor theme parks is the weather is never an issue because well its indoors

Great vid. It was good to get such a detailed view of the park. I'm heading there Dec 21st. I'm really hoping the two Intamin coasters are open by then, but either way it will be great to get on the other three coasters that are open now. it will be a solid trip I'm sure. It just seems so, soulless...
It really does. I blame nickelodeon and a rushed opening. If universal owned that shiz you best bet it wouldn't have that "rides slapped down inside a warehouse" feel to it.
I think the white ceiling has a lot to do with it. Nick should have splashes of green/orange/yellow all over the place. The white sticks out like a sore thumb

I love this concept, especially for the Northeast. I suspect that once it fully opens then crowds will be insane in the cold winter weather. We went a couple of weeks ago and it was insane. It doesn't take a lot of people for it to feel over crowded.

I went their like a month ago and it was so fun I loved the ride that spins and goes back and forth

I'm from New Jersey and have been waiting for this mall for almost 15 yrs 🤷🏿♂️🙄 but yes I definitely agree that the theme could've been more jungle or color themed like. But hey it's up open lol.

Well didn't you say this took a long time to build so the London resort does have a chance at happening because that also taking a long to build but it looks great I can not believe fantasy island is really the only park in the UK with rides indoors with the weather we get you would think there would be more.
I think the ropes course should have had a zipline at the top that went all the way to the bottom.
well there is a jump platform where you can simply jump off the second to highest floor (connected to a longer rope of course)

Hi shawn what an amazing place unbelievable that they can fit 5 coasters in there. I think it great needs more themeing and foliage and something on the floor around the coasters . But that high ropes course looked terrifying there is no way I would have got to the top . You are very brave shawn . Really enjoyed the vlog nice to see new things . Thanks for sharing with us xxxx

It was running two trains however it does have more in storage

I love that Nickelodeon showed one of their classic game shows some love with the Legends of the Hidden Temple rope climbing attraction.
I've gotta say, even though the theming around the rides is sparse, the rides themselves are fantastic looking.
Kraang Prime Pandemonium is awesome. I can feel this ride beginning from 25:23 thru 27:54. My first favorite video scene. Like living in The Twilight Zone from Nickelodeon’s sister network CBS.

Only thing i disagree with is them not having a Nonrider wristband. (Because my grandma cant ride things like this so she was gonna watch me and my daughter ride the rides and they told her no). So they should come up with something for Nonrider/babysitters

Looks like the Balloon is for wheelchairs to get up to the Skyway.
I went on the first week and no coasters were open but I rode a lot of flats and got a coupon so I get in free next time

Awesome look at a future destination for me Shawn,. I do wish they would've included a couple of proper thrill coasters that queued inside the mall and took you outside like Ferrari World a hyper and a giga maybe.

@@ThemeParkWorldwide The Silver Monkey has been "powered up" since about Nov 12th 2019 but accessible since the attraction opened. You can hear it be triggered by another person at 37:55 as you make your way back across the middle headed away from it. Maybe next time.
Based on how you’re talking about Shellraiser, I really hope you get back out to Knott’s Berry Farm and see Hangtime. I was there for Remembrance Sunday where they opened for 12 hours and that coaster in the dark with its lighting package is amazing, really stands out beautifully in the park. Also just hanging at the top for about seven seconds and only having the lap bars then into the over-vertical drop was great. I’ll have to send you my ORP for a TPW Weekly episode.

About there not being lap bars on Shellraiser; i think I heard somewhere that the mechanism for the lapbars would take up too much space to have both a launch and a lift hill

51:30 - It looks like disabled access. There is a ramp leading up to it and a gate on each side of the basket. One for entering on the lower platform and one for exiting on on to the rides platform.
The balloon looks like some kind of wheelchair access. It has an entrance on the side of the queue and the boarding platform with extra wide gates.
