Sabbath keeping is a act of your faith. No one can tell you about the Sabbath by faith/obedience your heart will draw you to the Sabbath.
The Sabbath is a sign to whom you are serving. Read Ezekiel 20. If the Sabbath is unimportant to the believers, why are we to pray that we will not have to flee on the Sabbath or in winter Matt 24?

@@deannaarnold6032 For some reason, the translators of the King James Version chose the Greek form of Joshua’s name, Jesus, which causes a little confusion in Hebrews 4, since the author of Hebrews is contrasting Jesus with Joshua in that chapter. Other translators have chosen the Hebrew form, Joshua, which helps us know who is who. The Old Testament Joshua led God’s people into the Promised Land, giving them a temporary, physical rest, but only Jesus can give us a permanent, complete, and spiritual rest.
My research shows that it is JESUS and not Joshua. Which gives a totally different meaning to that Scripture. It seems the newer Bibles have changed quite a few things.
Joshua doesn't give us rest though, Jesus does... yet another reason to use the kjv and toss out these corrupt modern versions.
He knows “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” is one of the 10 commandments of God, the Holy Spirit is showing him the truth. But he’s hardening his heart, and bringing others on his path to dull his conscience. He’s probably thinking, like the people in Jesus’ day, “well 95% of christians don’t keep it, why should I be the outcast?” But wide is the gate that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.

@@madmonk0 Jesus never commanded believers from gentiles to keep the sabbath. That's not his commandment. :) That's the previous agreement/covenant that God had with his people. If we follow Jesus we live under new agreement that God made with his people through His Sons blood(not Israelites but everyone). Actually we have no record in the new testament of Jesus commanding this to anyone so your point is invalid. Are you an Israelite?

The obvious problem with this guy's deceitful theology is that he is trying to apply the "rest" is meaning the same thing throughout Heb. 4. Paul used 2 entirely different Greek words that are translated as rest. In Heb. 4:1-8,10, Paul uses "katapausis" or "katapauō:. In verse 9 however, Paul used the word "sabbatismos", which any knowledgeable would tell you carries the implication that it involves the act of Sababth observance.
Your Bible is altered,,, for Hebrews chapter 4:8, does not say Joshua,,, it says Jesus,if he had given them rest,,,,, this implies that Jesus would have gone against his Father's law,,,, to which Jesus said,,,,,,think not that I have come to change the law but to fulfill the prophecies,, for not one dot or tittle shall be changed until all are fulfilled

Sabbath in the old testament doesn't only mean a day of rest, there's the years of rest as well. Israel was commanded to let the land have its Sabbath rest every 7th year. They never obeyed, therefore they were sent out of the promised land for 70 Sabbaths, which was the total number of 7th years rest they didn't let the land rest.
Jeremiah 25. Daniel read this and prayed to God when it was nearly complete, to let them go back. God honored his prayers but let him know that they weren't ready, but that He would find a way for them to return by GRACE, which would be by the appearance of the Messiah, who would be their king. But also that He would be cut off for the sins of the world. Then Israel would return to the promised land to finish the transgressions, for the last 70th year. The world would be judged by the tribulation, which will culminate in God taking vengeance and rescuing the remnants of Israel- the rest are already mixed and mingled with the iron and clay. The earth will be destroyed and then renewed so man could complete the 1000 years before expiration, as God had declared in Eden, that in the day man ate of the fruit, dying he shall die. A day is like a thousand years before God. Man has been dying since then, and will finally die after completing 1000 years. Then the new heaven and earth will be created,and will go on to eternity.
Finally, the law has nothing to do with gentiles, only Israel. Because of Israel's sins, God concluded everyone else in sin, so everyone could have access to forgiveness of sins, to prove the righteousness of God. But by trying to observe the law, keeping the sabbath, and going about to establish their own righteousness because they CAN obey and observe the law and keep the sabbath, is tantamount to throwing back God's love and imputed righteousness back to Him.
No one who is keeping the law under the pretext of loving God is simply rejecting God and His Son, Jesus Christ, who was prepared as the Lamb of God to take away their sins, by shedding His BLOOD for the propitiation for their sins- past, present and future.
Therefore, everyone still observing the law, which is only meant for the Jews, is on their way to eternal damnation.
Please study to show yourself approved unto GOD, and not to man so you can live and enjoy the life which Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again from the dead, for the redemption of your soul, and that you may have life, and have it more abundantly.
Study Romans chapters 3, 4 to 11; Colossians 2; Galatians 3; Hebrews chapters 1-11; Ephesians chapters 1-4 etc.
You can't simply be followed carefully crafted man's doctrines which are designed to keep you under physical submission and spiritual bondage, slaving for them and so they can perpetuate this idea, which gets them rich and entrenched in their pernicious ways, not visible to those looking outside in. They become rich and arrogant, and are not ready to actually repent and return to the Lord, because it would mean that they would have to forsake the wealth and renown this had gotten them. They need people to keep in subjection to their false doctrines in order to maintain status quo.
What can they really give in exchange for their souls, what does it really profit them to gain this world and lose their souls?
What have those who have died before them taken with them? Vanity, says the preacher, all is Vanity!

Jesus arrival on the scene was so confusing that even the very prophet born to prepare the way for Him (John the Baptist) had to double check to make sure He was the awaited messiah (Luke 7:20). Why? Because Jesus came to deal with the SPIRITUAL dimension of man in a culture where, for centuries, the PHYSICAL dimension of man was the focus, because that was what the Law was about: doing and not doing physical acts. So to shift the focus to the spiritual was very difficult. If Jesus talked about being born again, they would ask “how can I re-enter my mother’s womb?”. If He talked about the leaven of the pharisees, they’d think He wanted bread. If He talked about destroying the Temple and raising it back up in 3 days, they thought He was planning a terrorist attack. It was a slow and painful process for that culture to grasp this brand new spiritual dimension that Jesus’ teachings are based on AS DOCUMENTED IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS. And now, just as before, it’s repeating in reverse direction: the Church is having a very difficult time understanding the PHYSICAL dimension of the Word of God, i.e. the Law. And from that difficulty come all sorts of paradigms such as the “eternal” Law (Psalm 19:9) is really just temporary, the “not that difficult” Law (Deu. 30) is actually impossible, etc. etc. The formula is simple: the spiritual does not cancel the physical. No one here has done away with eating physical food and drinking physical water just because they now have Jesus-the bread of life and the water of life-in their lives. Same applies for His day of rest and other laws. SEPARATE the spiritual from the physical.
As I follow along in my Bible I noticed that the King James Version Hebrews 4:8 says , For if Jesus had given them rest….
Other versions say Joshua which prompts the question, how much will this change the discussion between Jesus giving rest and Joshua giving rest?
This has never changed, you will be given the Morning Star an set down in the throne with Jesus for overcoming just as Jesus overcome and is set down in his fathers Throne with him

Only the KJV uses 'Jesus' in this verse. But this is not the "Jesus" of Nazareth.
So what's going on here?
Keep in mind the Greek name 'Jesus' (which was a very common name in the time of Christ) is 'Joshua' in English.
In Hebrew the name Jesus is 'Yeshua' (pronounced Yesh-shu-uh). Hebrew does not have a letter 'J'.. nor did the English language for that matter until the 1600's).
The man we know as Joshua in the OT was actually known by the other Israelites of his day as 'Yeshua'.
So Joshua the son of Nun essentially had the same name as Jesus of Nazareth.
Therefore this verse in Hebrews 4:8 is speaking of the Joshua who was with Moses at the Exodus and the one who led the chosen people into the promised land.
It's a little confusing but does this make sense?

“Joshua” is actually The English name for “Yehoshua”. Which is actually our saviors Jewish name.
Yehoshua means “Yah saves” or “Yahweh saves”.
Some call Him Yeshua which means
“Salvation”.
Joshua also means “Yah saves”.
If you go to Google,
Type in Matthew 9 KJV with strongs
Then click on “blue letter Bible”.
Then go tho 4th verse ad click on
“Jesus” it will take you to “Joshua”.
When the disciples were writing in Greek,
The Greek did not have an equivalent name meaning “Yahweh saves” so instead of translating his name(because they couldn’t)
They “transliterated” his name.
Now Greek does not have a Y or J in their language. So they put Ie (eeah)
They do not have a “sh” so they put their “s”.
The ou (ooh uh) the s on the end of the name was to denote he was a male and was not intended to b pronounced.
So they ended up with
Iesou(s). Ee ah sue uh
If they had an “sh” it would sound like
Yahshua. Or Ee ah shua
Then in the 1600’s we adopted the “J”.
And the I’s that were like consonants and could stand on their own became “J’s.
So King Iames Bible became the
King James Bible. And Iesou(s) became
Jesus.
Now, I know our Bible says
“Their is no other name, under heaven, given among man, where man MUST be saved by”
And I used to think we had to use
Yehoshua or Yahshua or Yeshua in order to be saved. But then the Father made me to understand what the word “NAME” meant.
In Hebrew and in Greek, the word “name” means: “Authority”, “power”.
It is why the high priests asked Peter:
“By what Name or by what Power have ye made this man whole”.
Because name and power are interchangeable.
Christ says: “I come in m Father’s name,
And ye receive me not. Let another come in his OWN NAME and him ye will receive”.
And yet, he never says a name.
Because he’s saying:
“I come in my Father’s AUTHORITY
and ye receive me not. Let another come in his OWN authority, him ye will receive.”
When we believe that God is he authority of our lives. That He is the author and finisher of our faith. That our power, our strength and anything good in us is of HIM (and not of ourselves) we walk in “His name”.
But if we believe that WE are the authority of our lives and it is by our own power and authority that we do thus and thus, we walk in our OWN NAME. Our own authority.
So it’s not really about a phonetical sound that comes out of our mouth.
It’s who we credit the power and authority of our lives too. Our Heavenly Father? Or ourselves?
Yahweh judges by the heart.
Not the language.
It really is all about understanding that
ALL AUTHORITY belongs to The Father.
And Christ is “The Word” of the Father in or out of a physical body.
And The Holy Spirit is the Fathers Spirit of Truth. And “they” are ONE!
So just focus on Christ’s WORDS.
Because they are the WORDS of the Father!
And by keeping Christ’s words, we are doing the will of the Father.
“If a man loves me he will keep my words and The Father will love him and we will make our abode with him.”
So do your very best to forgive, judge not, turn the cheek, be humble as child, return not evil for evil, etc. and the Father will love you and Mae His abode with you.
Paul says for us to “Bring our thoughts into obedience to Christ.”
So when we catch ourselves having an inner rant about someone who has upset us, we want to bring those thoughts “captive” and bring them into obedience to Christ
And repent those angry thoughts and practice “turning the cheek” and “forgiveness” etc. and as we “practice” them, it will become easier and easier to follow His instructions. And we will not let our ego’s rob us of our peace. 🥰

The unbelief in wilderness is also tied to a lack of being yoked to the meek and lowly heart of Jesus. Stiff necked or unable to persuaded into the ways of God. Lack of trust and yielding in heart to “ALL” of Gods ways.

There are too many scriptures in the New Testament attesting to keeping GODS HOLY SABBATH and yet people still want to walk in laziness. This is the road to a lukewarm spirit and if not careful GOD says that HE will spit you out HIS mouth. GOD'S HOLY SABBATH is meant for sanctification. Even The Angels in Heaven obey GODS Sabbath and yet because we as mere humans, that are but dust claim that they somehow are more special and do not have to obey GOD like the rest of HIS Kingdom. They would rather spend their time hanging out with friends or going to secular worldly things than to come to GOD and spend time with HIM 1 day out of the week? Then you say, we have JESUS He is our SABBATH 7 days a week but only pick up your HOLY BIBLE in a church service. GUESS WHAT PEOPLE, HE WAS THERE SABBATH of THE OLD TESTAMENT too because HE IS THE LIVING WORD OF GOD. THAT MEANS THE LAW AS WELL. THE LAW WRITTEN IN FORM OF WORDS AS EXPRESSED IN JOHN 1:1 WHO WAS WITH GOD AND WAS GOD AND ALL THINGS WERE FOUNDED THROUGH HIM. REVELATIONS SPEAKS HIS NAME AS WELL AS THE WORD OF THE LORD. How then is this not clear to you all??? It is because you walk a lazy walk with GOD and do not wish to devote yourselves to an intimate relationship with ABBA and YESHUA AND THE LIVING WATER OF GOD. THROUGH YESHUA YOU ARE JUSTIFIED AND THEN LED INTO BECOMING SANCTIFIED. Sabbath is meant for sanctification. The churches and false teachings such as this is why most of you don't even pick up your HOLY BIBLE and read it yourselves. You let arrogant men get before a pulpit and live out your walk with GOD for you. WAKE UP!!! If you read GOD'S WORD without arrogant bias by not already doing something and having eyes that hide yourselves from obeying GOD then you would ask GOD open my eyes and ears to see and hear what YOUR WORD wishes to speak to me, and with a humble heart HE will reveal it to you. Clear your eyes with eye salve that you may see and come to GOD humbly without trying to use HIM like you do a google search for your interests and bias interpretation.

God works in times, seasons, and dispensation.
Let's just start from the account of the work of creation.
a) God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th, from His work of CREATION.
God had to get up from His Sabbath rest, in order to get the sacrificial animal, for the work of SALVATION of the fallen man, to save his soul from Satan, and the 1 day, or 1000 years expiration day of his death and eternal separation from God.
b) Now, the work of Salvation has begun. It was man that sinned, but it was God that substituted a sinless animal for his punishment, Genesis 3:21 (God had to get up to kill and skin the animal, to be used for their covering!), man returned to his glorious body, in order to fully pay for his sin, that had left him naked.
c) God began to seek a fallen man, who would listen to and believe Him, and work together with Him to reach this goal.
d) God found Abraham, made a covenant with him, and gave Him a promise of the Seed, by Whom the sacrifice would be offered and accepted, because He will be the Seed of Promise from God, and Faith of man in that promise. (Adam and Eve had broken this trust).
e) God couldn't rest from then onwards, He made many trips, so to speak, to appear to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Hebrews 1:1. He had to keep watch over the Seed from generations to generations, since satan also watched to make sure he added his own seed Genesis 3:15, to bring confusion, so the seed of the woman wouldn't be distinguished, and he and his seed end up in the stead of man. ( But he can never be forgiven, yet God took all this trouble to find a way back to fellowship for man, in the heavenly places, whereas Satan gets cast out!).
f) God's promised Seed was tasked with overcoming the infestation of the seed of satan, hence, the numerous miraculous battles fought by Israel- Joshua and Caleb were both giant killers, and David and his men, killed the last of them- Goliath and his brothers.
g) Israel was led into sin by getting a bull to substitute for God, and they were on a slippery slope since then, despite God's constant and numerous warnings Deuteronomy 4:19 etc.
Fast forward. Jesus Christ had to come to continue and finish thus work of SALVATION, John 5:17; John 19:30.
He was supposed to restore the kingdom to Israel, as their king, but they rejected Him, thus God concluded them and everyone else in sin Romans 3:23, and He had to become the sacrifice, not just for Israel, but for the whole world. John 12:31-32; John 1:9-14.
For Him to be condemned to death, He had to do what is indicated in the law that will definitely lead to death, even beyond stoning to death!
Therefore, He began to deliberately do what only He, the Son of God, the Son of David, could do, as the King of Israel, from the line of David. But of course, He wasn't acknowledged as such, so all His actions were contrary to the establishment law of God, and they all carry the penalty of death!

But He had to get up again to fulfill the work of REDEMPTION of the purchased possession. Acts 7:51; Acts 9, to signify the end of the dispensation of Grace, and the ushering in of the dispensation of Vengeance of God Luke 4:17-20; Isaiah 61:2a,b, (c will be during the millennium), Isaiah 63:4.
So, Jesus Christ became the Rest, or sabbath for all who would simply believe in His sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection. Matthew 12:8; Hebrews chapters 3 and 4!
He Sent His Holy Spirit to enable believers to live a life of faith, for without faith, they cannot please God! Hebrews 11:6; John 4:24.
After the new heavens and earth are created, and judgment is meted to everyone as they deserve, then, sabbath observance will return, and everyone will have to observe it. Isaiah chapters 65 and 66.
But, for those who are trying to observe sabbath, during this dispensation of grace, are simply rejecting the Lord that bought them, and they're going about to establish their own righteousness. Romans 10; Colossians 2; Ephesians 2.
They're out of the fold and devoid of the Holy Spirit, and can never speak in tongues, and can only use the doctrines of men, as a crutch, to measure themselves by themselves, lording over each other, to become important and honored, to keep them puffed up, until they get a rude awakening, that they're sincerely going down the wrong path. Matthew 15:3,9; Hebrews 10:29.
Like the rich young ruler, they get angry if they're not validated that they're on their way to eternal life!

Thus was concluded by the vision John received in Revelation chapters 1-4, for the Churches, and Daniel got raised up from His rest Daniel 12:13; Revelation 5, to continue the prophecy concerning Israel and the end of the world system, which ends in the marriage supper of the Lamb, and subsequent casting of satan and his accomplices into the lake of fire and brimstone. Revelation 2q; Isaiah 66:24. The new heaven and earth, and the new Jerusalem- brought down from heaven, will not be defiled as the old had been.
Sabbath observations will return when God returns into the midst of His people, as He had purposed before time- as Emmanuel!

Your translation is wrong in Hebrews 4:8 yours Says if Joshua had given them rest, the king James says if Jesus had given them rest.

The theme of the book of Hebrews is to illustrate that Christ is far superior to anthing that preceded him. But sadly these Sanbsth keepers dont "study" the bible as it shoukd be studied. Good attempt in explaining what Hebrews really meant in context and demonstrating proper exegisis of the bible but most of these Sabbath keepers are so far gone that Jesus himself cannot convince them about his rest. They are going to say if you are my Sabbath then why you observed it? Then they will quote to him a bunch of other scriptures read out of context. Yes! They are that far gone. They will then throw in the 10 commandments,the Catholic Church, the Pope and Blue Law to seal the deal. Shabbat always has been Saturdays but I believe Sundays was moved as to worship as well possibly the resurrection of Christ.

I was just saying all I know about Shabbat a resting day for the Jews and their calendar today is from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. Like an example Good Friday the day Jesus was crucified. The days then of the Jewish calendar were from sunrise to sunset. We know in 3 days Christ rose from the dead making Sunday the third day from the crucifixion. So, a while ago I asked, and was like how does Friday to Sunday make 3 days because to me i was like that is just like 2 days lol. Someone explained it to me, and I also did a study to see for myself. But, just using that as an example in order to try explaining how the Jewish calendar worked then and now. The difference to it today is suppose to be sunset on Fridays to sunset on Saturdays still being the Jewish Shabbat. A day of rest because of the creation and because of the Israelites Exodus and redemption from slavery. The New Testament I don't think talks about anything other than Shabbat being Saturdays. I'm not a 7 day Adventist neither lol. I just study whenever I can about the history it's something I enjoy doing ☺ but I think as long as we keep one day holy for God is what matters. I'm not under the law. I just think we should do as Christ said to do. Keep His commandments, and said we'd do it if we love Him ♥

The law I was talking about was the Old Testament. There's no way I can follow those laws by sacrificing animals for every type of sin. Those are the laws I was speaking about not being under the law. That is why Christ came to fulfill them so that we may follow the commands He gave us. And I said I think as long as we keep one day holy which means a sabbath day. I can't speak for others what day they take if it's a Saturday or a Sunday and it does absolutely matter to keep a day for the Lord. I give everyday to Him. I don't just attend a service one day a week and live worldly the other 6 days. We are to be set apart from the world. We shine our light so others can see His works through us. Christ said at the end of Mar. 2 that the Sabbath was made for ALL ppls, which is made absolutely clear in Isa. 56 that Gentiles should NOT believe that it was just for Israelites. The idea that it was only made for the Jews is nonsense, particularly because the Bible shows God stating through the major prophets that the northern kingdom was cast out of His sight and subjected to slavery for rejecting _His_ Sabbaths.
Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man. It is for the enjoyment of God & His people every week.

God doesn't change. It was a High Sabbath (Feast) week. Meaning besides the regularly weekly Sabbath, there is a High Convocation Sabbath (Passover) only days before and that makes 2 preparation days as well that week.
John 19:31 - The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
See it? 2 Sabbaths that week. They took Him off the cross since the next day was Passover. I wish more people in the faith would keep the Passover but easter seems to have won out with the Body of Christ.. I don't know why, I can't find any colored eggs. bunnies or peeps in my Bible but Yeshua Hamashiach truly is our Passover Lamb...
