Emma & Ofer just came across your channel and I have enjoyed watching this particular episode. Antigua Guatemala is a delightful place! Thank you for sharing your experience to the world.
Thanks for sharing. Is so rich and beautiful the United Kingdom of Guatemala established since 1609 that extends from El Soconusco (today Chiapas) to Part of Panama. Guatemala is the 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. The Land of Jacobo Arbenz, Miguel Angel Asturias (Literature Nobel Prize) and Kjell Eugenio Laugerud. God bless!
Min 6:07 when we were kids we used to play with those blue/purple flowers you tear them off you grab them from below the you spin them and looks like little helicopters 👍
Hello Miss: Beautiful video of Antigua Guatemala you showed. I believe you because I was there a couple of years ago & I loved it. Not only the weather, but the different kinds of food too. There are different places in the country were to go. For example lake Atitlan, or the Amatitlan that is another one. Up north, in the department of Peten, it has Tikal to be visited. In the east coast, we see that the department of Izabal has different beaches, cities, that can be visited too. I think that Guatemalan people should appreciate all the beautiful things that they have. I hope that they get more information so that they get more visitors. I have been in diff. Places in South America too, but Guatemala is one of my favorite. It has beautiful things. What you need is to have a little bit of Spanish the language, so you understand when men are talking to you in Latin America, or you want to buy things, go to the malls.
I got the chills with the procession, I loved and looked forward to them every year, I never would have thought it would be two years of no processions and the music, so nostalgic!
Guatebella I have been there several times. Main exports of Guatemala are silver, gold, jade, cardamom and cofee. Guatemala has massive reserves of minerals and natural resources. God bless
Bonito vídeo, personas como uds son Bienvenidas a Guatemala, hacen vídeos bonitos para el mundo y así muchos turistas internacionales llegarán a visitar este bello país, gracias y felicidades en sus viajes a Guatemala.
I first saw Guatemala 1987. A friend from work talked me into going. I have a textile background and was interested in the weaving. It was magic. Went back several times.
@@EmmaOfer It looked a lot different. As you can imagine. We flew into Guatemala City. Stayed one night. Did the market. Very rustic. Very few tourists. We took a "taxi" to Antigua. Actually an old American car, no muffler, torn leather seats, and total static blaring from the radio. Same experience 5 days later to Panajachel. Both were much smaller then. No one spoke English. Not many restaurants. We had a little fireplace in Antigua that they would light for us every night. We did the ruins with a local guide. Lots of gun fire which my friend claimed was fireworks. Very atmospheric with the morning fog coming out of Antigua. All the road checks. And of course the weavings were extraordinary. It was life changing.
@@EmmaOfer Yes I believe La Antigua and Guatemala itself is so underrated tourism wise. It should be more popular and visited in general. Its people is so kind.
Unfortunately we didn’t 😔 we only had 2 days in Antigua but planned to come back after Lake Atitlan and hike Cerro de la Cruz & the volcanos but the lockdown prevented us from doing it 💔 at least it gives us a reason to come back
Thanks for the gorgeous snapshot tour of Antigua! My home for more than a year. Quetzales - as I'm sure you've learned by now - is pronounced Ket-sal-es. BRAVO, Emma & Ofer!
Haha yes we eventually figured it out 😂 I edited this about 3 months after we filmed it and it def made me cringe 😅 so glad you enjoyed it! You have a beautiful home city 🥰
This seems to be a very amazing place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Hey guys thanks for visiting my country, I also suggest you to visit El volcan De Tajumulco the highest pick of Central America and its unique nature and mayan architecture around it.
Este lugar parece realmente encantador, espero poder ir cuando todo esto pase. Ver y compartir lugares como estos es por lo que me gusta viajar y hacer videos!
This video made me so nostalgic for Guatemala! I made a point every trip to take a photo under that arch. There is something about drinking the coffee grown in the country. I can buy Guatemalan coffee here but it’s never tasted as good as when I was there of course. Enjoyed this video so much! I hope things with the Covid lockdown ease up soon. 💗
Thank you! You would be amazed at how quiet it is now. We’re hoping to do a more current/update video within the next 2 weeks. There’s absolutely no one under the arch these days 😢. I also hope things will ease soon- I would love to see more of the country! Mostly we just “tour” the supermarket and the inside of our airbnb lol but we have discovered and become addicted to the Guatemalan hot sauce (Picamas) 🤤😂 we’re already stocking up on TSA compliant bottles of it lmao
Emma & Ofer ahh yes I bet that is so strange with the usual hustle and bustle of Antigua gone. The volcanoes there are stunning - Pacaya is probably my favorite not to mention other Mayan ruins and Lake Atitlan. 😭 I really hope you guys get to do more exploring soon! It’s such a beautiful country!
My mom brings coffee grown from one of the country sides in Guatemala. She doesn't just bring a container. She brings the full suitcase and leaves her clothes with the locals.

We hope to return again one day! We loved it there but didn’t get to see half of what we wanted to due to covid closures. We’ll definitely reach out to you on our next trip 🙂 thank you for watching!
Wow, I was in Antigua for a week and I didn't see any of the places in your video :) hahaha. Thanks for catching me up. However, did you climb Acatenango?
We want to climb it so badly! We look at it every day hoping the president will lift restrictions and allow tour groups to resume climbing. I really hope we get to 🙏 thank you for watching!
It was a bit touristy (from my understanding most of Antigua’s population is made up of tourists and expats). We’re still here under lockdown and judging by how quiet the streets are without tourists I would believe it. However it has a great vibe and has less tourist traps than many other places we’ve visited. It holds on to a lot of its authenticity 🙂
We took this footage shortly before the lockdown... but we actually never left Guatemala! Antigua is definitely quieter these days...
Emma & Ofer just came across your channel and I have enjoyed watching this particular episode. Antigua Guatemala is a delightful place! Thank you for sharing your experience to the world.
You guys needed to go to cerro De la Cruz. Is a must. You cannot go to la Antigua and not go there. Beautiful sight
Buen video
Antigua’s like my second home. When you get the chance, y’all should go to Las Palmas - the food is phenomenal.
