I'm the same way. i saw the thumbnail, and thought it was a joke. Watching it for the first time all the way through a couple of days ago, it was a genuine like of this song. Even though everyone involved is in the wrong time period, it's still a fantastic song.
This was the last song I listened to with my father. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in May. He was operated on and came home in June. He was given 3 months to live. Throughout the summer we've listened to tons of songs, including this one. But this one touched us both. We even discussed how badly we feel about Oleg Parastaev's death. I don’t speak Russian, but i’ve learned to sing this song in Russian, listened to it so many times that my pronunciation is almost perfect. In Soviet times (like start-middle of 80s) even rock concerts were considered 'cultural events' which considered to be a place where respectful attendees are listening to a talented maestro. That changed relatively fast in several years, and by the end of 80s rock concerts became almost the same as it is now.

Its really magik, we can listen and feel same emotions. In Soviet times (like start-middle of 80s) even rock concerts were considered 'cultural events' which considered to be a place where respectful attendees are listening to a talented maestro. That changed relatively fast in several years, and by the end of 80s rock concerts became almost the same as it is now.

I clicked on this expecting to get a good laugh at some cheesy 80s effects, cliches, etc., but this was actually really good! Yeah, it's very 80s, but there's nothing wrong with something being "of its time," especially when it's the 80s. I hope they enjoyed some success!
