Wow! Thanks for sharing! You’re the first person whose curly hair type I identify with in pattern, porosity, density, and thickness! (Of course everyone’s hair is different but still!) I didn’t even know clarification was so important for fine curly hair!! Thanks again!
You are officially my new favorite you tube influencer. I just ordered products from Evolvh and raw curls to try😀, I know all hair is different but at least I can relate you your hair!
Your hair is amazing. And the video is amazing....and who cares if the water is running 🏃♂️🙄😀....your video, your house! We don't pay your bills ....keep up the great work. I hope that I can get there one day !!
I love this video & thank you for your valuable insight!! It's nice to see our hair type represented in the CG community💓 BTW what kind of diffuser do you use?
Thank you for this!! I have a couple questions. 1. How do you normally position your head when you're washing standing up? No matter what I do my hair always seems to glue itself to my head. 2. How would you adapt your routine for hair that's *super* easily disrupted? (I can't do praying hands or raking at any point after the micro-plop without losing my curl.)
Normally I'm upright until it's time to do the leave in and styling then it's upside down just like this video. As far as the application methods, I suggest you get good clumps with your products in soaking wet hair using scrunching/squishing with your styling products, and microplop after. In the beginning I could only scrunch products in for the same reasons but again it had to be soaking wet.
haha I know! But they last forever! Good luck. Make sure to use lots of water with the conditioner to get it to distribute well and be able to detangle.
Finely someone who truly has fine, thin hair. Although, I am African American, I am finding out that hair is hair and if you take great care of it, it will flourish. @Holistic Enchilada, you are making me reconsider looking at the Curly Girl Method. I am like you though, more than likely I will need to modify it. Also, I have color in my hair that is fading, so I am considering not coloring it any more, just go with my natural hue, which will include gray/grey strands, especially in the front. Also, what do you recommend for someone who is on a serious budget and purchasing products (good ingredients)? I will be signing up for your program as soon as I can get another job. Thank you for doing such a great job! Looking forward to updated videos. Blessings💖💖💖💖
Thank you for posting this in real time!!! My hair is fine, low density, high porosity. Sound familiar? lol! Your routine looks easy enough and I'll probably try it tomorrow but I really, really struggle with my hair sticking to my scalp like glue and since it 100% white....I passed the gray stage in my 30's. Shaking does help some but I still end up needing to move things around to close up my scalp or I look bald😑. Not it's not that low density but because it's white..... Anyways, I'm like you with my products to the point of not even using conditioner sometimes and my hair STILL sticks to my scalp! My hair is past my shoulders and my curls are like yours. My goal is to get to the length of yours. Do you have a special cut? I appreciate you showing us all that wash day hair is not always perfect and needs some fine tuning. I needed to hear that. Oh, one more thing, is the Evole leave in spray mist extremely light weight? Can you describe it? Most sprays are just a somewhat of a lotion....I need something lighter than that. I know this is all scattered but I'd be pleased with anything you could offer in the way of help, tips or tricks🌻
So, when you are in the shower, do you flip your hair upside down to detangle and to rinse the conditioner? Or are you upright? I know you said your not normally in the flipped position while showering, so I'm just confused as to when during your shower routine you flip. Or if you flip upside down at all? Do you flip to just add stylers normally? I'm still trying to figure out the best and easiest techniques for me. Our hair is so so similar, so was just wondering at what point during the shower and wash day routine you actually flip hair upside down. Love your channel and blog! Your tips and info help alot! Thank you!
Hi there! Thank you for sharing ur curly hair journey! I’m learning so much from you, as I also have fine low density high porosity hair and am going to start trying CGM. I’m curious if u’ve ever tried the Jessicurl products, if so which ones and how did those work out for you? I’m undecided if I should go for Jessicurl products, since they’re a bit more affordable than the Evolve products in ur videos, but I’m not sure if Jessicurl will be too heavy for my hair. Any knowledge or suggestions you or anyone else has on this topic would be greatly appreciated! 💖
Hi Eliana! I haven't tried Jessicurl yet but it's on my list. I believe it is similar to Raw Curls and most people do well with it. Just be sure to go with their lightweight products and you should be fine.
Hi, Delilah! So, based on your suggestion that cheaper products might be the wrong way to go to help repair hair, I am guessing you would not recommend the Neutrogena clarifying shampoo. I heard you mention the Kinky Curly one for hard water. May be switching to that!! Thank you!
Yes that's pretty much what I believe. For clarifying shampoo since you don't use it often I wouldn't stress too much about it but definitely go high quality with your most used products.
Thanks for sharing you new routine. I was wondering if there was any reason you started using the wonderbalm on dry hair instead of on wet hair like you did in your routine a month ago. I just received wonderbalm in the mail. My hair is similar to yours. I pull it back too often and probably use too much conditioner. I’m working on it though.
Holistic Enchilada Thank you 😊 I will try both methods. I need to get a buff. Pulling my hair back disrupts my pattern, so I end up with a ton of frizz.
@@patricemarie3412 have you tried Medusa clipping? I think that's probably the only option I know of for short hair. And of course a silk/satin pillowcase.
Hi Delilah, I have same hair type, porosity and density. My curls look very similar however I have about half the amount of hair as you ☹️ Would you recommend I do a wash day every 3-4 times a week as opposed to the recommended two? Or any other modifications as far as products and styling? I’m still a beginner but have started using the same techniques and currently using the Evolvh curl discovery line?
This was almost creepy for me. It was like someone took my hair off my head, put it on their own and showed me how to style it. Same length, same colour, same density, same everything. Every issue I have, you had an dealt with in this video. I do most of this myself (been CG for many years....and even did most of it intuitively as a child and teen). I think my problem lately has been trying to work with my hair when it is longer. It’s never been this long and I’m dying for volume. Thank you for showing me exactly how to do the upside down styling with my hair. Especially this bit where the hair at the back sticks in a stupid way. I haven’t been able to get past that. Also, I’ve never tried finger coiling the fluffy bits without more product (usually a tiny bit of gel). I’ll have to try that.
My hair is a bit too dence to go side to side and to do the styling/scrunching part upside down, belive me I've tried, I've even used my hands to lift the hair off my scalp flipped up gently and then shook the hair but I always get horrible spots that look like massive knots (but their not their just bubbles) But i like scrunching the products in that definitely works really well. Eish I also cant deffuse upside down😂 My hair needs to be cut in layers I think thats my problem, cuz I've got hair thats definitely more on the dense side, not too coarse but there is a majority of my hair that is coars (only the top bit that sees the sun, my whole crown area and then all the hair in my neck, I think my clothes beats it up(the hair) a little) And I definitely have lower perosity hair on the whole section thats not coarse and then higher perosity on all the coarse/frizzy spots😂
Hi there ! Some questions please did you use warm or cold when you defuse, no heat protection?? If warm defuse, I have the same hair as you and what to do I live in Florida it is very high humidity and hard to wear your hair down in the summer it’s almost impossible any recommendations thank you
I use the hottest setting so that it takes less than 10 minutes. No heat protectant. I don't spend too much time outside because it's unbearable but I just put it up if I do.
What product do you use to keep your hair from looking greasy between washes? After day 2-3, I need dry shampoo to help absorb the oil. I haven’t conditioned my hair to last that long yet.
Very rarely only because my hair doesn't need it. But I really like the Shea Moisture Strengthen & Restore mask since my hair needs lots of protein in deep conditioners.
CGM says not to use glyririn in the summer. It makes frizz worse. I live in IN. My hair is 2b, thin, medium length, low density,& high porosity. What brand do you recommend I use in the summer? Sure do hope you can reply to this as soon as possible.
Hi Wendy! I would check out the Giovanni line. Their gel is great for the summer, and they are affordable. It's quite thick so you need to use a tiny amount and use wet hands to help thin it out. Another option is Jessicurl Spiralicious.
I have frizziy hair in the show even after conditioning. Should I just keep wetting it and squishing until it looks ok? Or does it mean i need more conditioning? I have fine, low density 2b hair.
It should get better with more water/conditioner. If not, it could be that your hair is not liking an ingredient in your conditioner. This doesn't happen a lot but it could be coconut, glycerin, or aloe.
Every time I try to diffuse, it makes half of my wavy hair straight and frizzy. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I also just started this process. I've had straight hair my whole life until after having children and a thyroid issue. This is my second wash day and it's totally frizzy. I missed the step of using a clarifying shampoo though, so that probably doesn't help.

Sorry, I understand. I normally do this in the shower and this was the first time I ever recorded my full routine (in a tub so that I could record it). I was focused on showing my routine and didn't think about how long the water was running. But since then I've recorded more and I always shut it off now.
