Ep.2 : This week’s The Swan Club is titled ‘Tales of Cruelty’. Park Jumi joins the club by receiving hearty cheers and takes the successful first step as she shows off her enthusiasm and flexibility. The worldly famous ballerina Kim Joowon becomes the artistic director of The Swan Club as a big supporter of the team. However, Joowon’s tough criticism gives the members a wakeup call.

the main purpose for this program is to let those who desire to do ballet but have no background on it. Jiwon is an exception because what she wants is a closer for her ballet career that was put on stop after her injury. Stop asking where's Mina. We get it that she does ballet and she's great.. But please respect these swans who are working hard fulfilling their dream.

There is no point for ballerina to started learning ballet.

As a fan of Ji Won for 4 years now, this series is my DREAM - it is so great to see her getting a chance to show the world she's so much more than the 2nd leads she's been stuck with in Dramas. I really wish I could be in Busan to watch the performance live!

Aweeee. I have no background practicing ballet but I've been wanting to do ballet because I love how feminine and graceful they look like. I like how flexible their body is.
Wow, in my op, as a ballet dancer professionally for 5 years, you can achieve what you want, if you put heart and soul into it. Just remember, dancing, especially classical number emphasize on fitness and flexibility so you can use them to perform clear and sharp techniques during choreo.
Start by change your diet to suit your purpose (refer physician and dietitian to do so), stretch and exercise regularly focusing on the muscles that you might use (a fitness trainer can help you to develop a perfect routine based on your situation).
After you are adequately fit, you can start basic class. Trust me, attending one without planning and preparation might result in frustration and hardship. So, it is preferably for those who started late (adult) to make an attempt to increase their level of flexibility and fitness before learn the basics of a dance.
Aside from ballet, I'm also started to dance Bharatanatyam 3 years ago, which also a classical number (from India). I started late for this dance as I'm a ballerino since young age. So, I did have to develop a routine exercise based on the dance to ease the process. I did it well after learn it for 2 years. Even professionally perform for a year now.
See? Nothing is impossible.

i started watching this show out of sheer curiosity but now im invested in the developmental journey of each of the women

I know it's a variety and they have limits/specific things to show, but I wish they emphasised more on the importance of proper pointed feet and turn outs before introducing more complex moves to them. Maybe they did and it was cut out? Would definitely be so much easier in the long run for Seungeun and Yoonah if they got those basics right first though.
i think they cut it out cause there must be a lot of footage including the ones they get from practicing outside of the show
I totally agree their feet must be pointed and strengthened for them not to be injured in the long run. I remember my ballet teacher everytime i see their feet not pointed shouting articulate, pointe your feet etc. I love to see them improve!

Im with you. I know shows where people are taught dance is just for entertainment but i wish they did emphasize more on the basics. For instance posture and positions are very basic but EXTREMELY important. I took ballet for a few years (no expert but know basics). Example...take a turn/pirouette. Posture-lets say you do the opposite aka slouch...then your center/point of Turing is off(torso is in front of where your leg tha your standing is on) thus leading you to fall forward. Positioning- plié of leg is what gives you the energy? To turn, arms help turn and balance.
I remeber I had to learn to do so many exercise to strengthen ankle and also learn to balance before learning to turn(just two of many things I had to learn before pirouettes)
I know it's a time issue but o wish they would show all the filmed stuff. I'm curious to know all they do. They make me miss dance. I had to quite because it was interfering with my education(not enough sleep,stress from lack of time)
Yes, my ballet teacher used to scream at me when I first start, even I was only 3. I have been learning ballet for 8 years until last year I have to quit because of my right ankles.
I wish the teacher teach them the basics like the position and the basic moves before moving on to harder steps. Without the basics, it is likely to injure them self.
Of course, they might have cut those parts out.

19:10 Static stretching is bad and dangerous, lets do dynamic.. at this point im fucking AMAZED. A korean show that actually understands human body! .... only to proceed to do the worst kind of static stretching there is, static with a jerking movement to force it further.

sungeun is totally behaving like a child, she took that opportunity that was given to her n didn't do her best.... when they this dance of the cygnets at the end it really made me angry, her not being serious made the whole group look bad even after they practiced so hard... idk how she's a mother
