In SM 2, Ock ultimately rejected his arms and sacrificed himself, while here, albeit for understandable reasons, Ock wanted to keep his arms. In both cases, Peter was trying to save his mentor. It also breaks my heart how the whole game, we were watching Octavius' struggles and him trying to truly do good, until he finally broke. It was brilliant how the devs knew that we would know Octavius would be Doctor Octopus eventually, so they made him this way so we wouldn't want him to become evil.

Peter/John’s face is unreplaceable. I don’t blame Ben for what happened, but there’s no way anyone else can capture the raw grief and pain that this version of Peter shows. You can see Otto slipping between his old righteous self (whether it's genuine or not) and what he has become throughout this entire scene "Peter you're right." "PETER NO USELESS BODY BLAH BLAH" "Peter our promise?" "Your identity is safe with me ;)"
I walked into this game thinking "Doc Ock is our boss. Must be a sequel until the madness thing. Then I felt just as helpless as Peter seeing a great man fall into the Darkness and there was nothing We can do. This scene no this whole fight just broke my heart. Here was a father figure to Peter to us as the player just being a dark twisted shadow of himself. I couldn't bear it at first purposely failing the mission so I could stop crying. It just felt so real to me (great job Insomniac Games) I really dove in emotionally. After I got my shit together I beat the mission with this gut punch scene then seeing Peter struggle with his choice between his Aunt May and the City. I started crying again. Then She told him let her go I just cried for hours. Thank you Insomiac Games great game sad ending can't wait for more.
I love how Peter saying “You do what you think is best, even if it hurts like hell” is something that Peter truly believes in so far as I’m just a few moments later he doesn’t use the cure on May no matter how much it hurt him
I knew the moment that Peter was working for Dr Octavius that eventually the heartbreaking moment he became Dr Octpus would hit me in the feels like a bullet train. After doing this mission, I think 50 bullet trains hit me 😢 thats this scene and the next 😭
This scene was so powerful in this game. Li and Ock, they faced so many problems but always never gave up and they did what’s right. It’s crazy How such good men can turn into the worst people just by greed
Knowing that Otto was planning on being a villain even before the neural interface messed with his mind makes this even more tragic. He was long gone and Peter just had to accept it and keep moving forward.
The first time I heard the "you were everything I wanted to be!" really teared me up, that really left an impression on me and is one of the many reasons this game is the best
2:47 made me cry. Otto was like his father. But then he put everyones life at risk. So peter was forced to fight him. Its sad to hear otto cry for help when he needs peters help. I am crying
I noticed a little detail, when otto was falling down the building and spider man tried to grab the antiserum in an attempt he was trying to save otto from falling as well, this is a little nod to otto falling in his life from the good man to the evil man and Peter couldn't save him
Coming back from Marvel Spider-Man 2, I missed this Peter so bad. I haven't played since they changed him and I felt disconnected. I couldn't imagine anybody else while he was talking behind the mask. Also now MJ and Peter look like they have a significant age gap, it's troubling me.
I know everyone talks about the "You Were Everything I Wanted To Be!" part, but I personally love the "I Worshipped You!" line better because it's just equally if not more raw than the former. It's so perfect, just like the rest of this game.
I love how despite Spider-Man ruining his plans and putting him in RAFT, Otto still hasn't revealed Spider-Man's identity to anyone. Just goes to show how much Otto truly cherised Peter.
Well he might just have something more sinister in store and is waiting to use that information to best serve his own plans. It’s rumored that his ‘Final Chapter’ will, at the very least, involve the proverbial death of Spider Man by exposing Peter’ identity in addition to whatever he does to take down Norman/Oscorp. May even involve or result in the literal death of Peter Parker.
0:50 My favorite part of this Scene Otto start out with how people with talent have a responsibility to help other even when they don’t want it kind of like uncle Ben with great power, comes great responsibility. But then Otto twists it and start to go on about how he doesn’t do it to help other but because he view ordinary people as inferior being to himself. The look of horror and shame as Peters friend and mentor has twists something so close to him. This game is amazing and I can’t wait for Spider-Man 2
Whats sad is how much doc and martin meant to peter, with every other villain he jokes around and fucks with them but with martin and doc he doesnt make a single joke and just feels sad and trys to make them change
I've travelled for two years to tell you that actually Doc Ock's philosophy is to help those "beneath" them, while Spider-Man helps others because he views everyone as equals and worthy of saving. That slight difference is big because Octo thinks he's the greater good, but Spidey just does what he can to do good
"Turn... Turn? I worshipped you. Your mind. Your conscience. The way you never gave up!" This scene was beautifully sad. I loved the game, but I really thought, even after I watched these endings on UA-cam, I HOPED he would turn back to the side of good. It shows how even the best of us could fall. He didn't just make his prosthetics for him, but for others as well. He wanted to help others but petty revenge got in the way of all of it. Mister Li and Ock have similar character parallels. They used to be good men, REALLY good men. But they let revenge get in their ways. It hurt because as people, we try to always see the people we love in a good light. But in real life, when you get slapped in the face with betrayal, this is exactly how it feels. Especially when it's someone you idolize and loved like a father. This hit WAY too close to home.
The shere pain in Peter's voice when he says that last line... My god the emotional agony of having to turn your back on someone you saw as a father...😭😭😭
Everything after 2:08 is what it was like for me ending things with my now ex :/. I couldn’t do it anymore… as much as it hurt I couldn’t endure the pain and had to walk away as much as it seemed it hurt her and she didn’t want me to leave. Hands down… hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

I come back to this scene so often. The “Turn?.. Turn?” at the start hits so hard because he begins to lose hope in Otto, realizing he truly was delusional
Insomniac's iteration has to be my FAVORITE spiderman like ever They perfectly embodied his character and what he stands for Even the comics dont beat this, and i dont say that lightly
Everything about this is purely a masterpiece but the one detail I adore is everytime Peter tries to walk away otto says something to manipulate him. You can see in peters face he just can’t stand the desperation in ottos words. It’s a really incredible attention to detail.
The sad fact is that he tried to gaslight an easy manipulated 22 year old into doing his will, while trying to act like a father figure to Peter, while lying to him that he didn't know his identity, that could put Pete's loved ones in danger. Pitiful and pathetic, yet so well written.
This scene spoke to me on a deep, and I mean *DEEP*, level. Peter's "You were everything I wanted to be!" hit me like a fucking freight train. It only got worse when Peter dropped that nuke "It's all any of us can do... Even when it hurts like hell."
This is an amazing cutscene! Worthy of a feature length movie! Was this meant to be in the Amazing Spider-Man movies? I feel like this should've been the Amazing Spider-Man 2 instead of the one we got that had tons of edits and changeups.
I always wondered what would happen if Doctor Octopus was in The Amazing Spider Man 2 instead of Electro and Harry. I thought it would go something like Harry remains Peter’s best friend until he finds out that Peter was Spider Man, knowing that his friend refused to help him save his life, he sets up Max to become Electro, and starting The Amazing Spider Man 3 with Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Green Goblin (Dane Dehaan)
@chaseginise8968 Honestly, no offense to Dane Dehaan, but I wish he hadn't become the Green Goblin. I wish we had gotten Chris Cooper's Norman to be in this role. I feel he was already set up to take on being Spider-Man's rival, but with the edits, it felt like they wanted to go with someone closer to Garfield's age, much like how they keep retconning Spider-Man in comics to never be with Mary Jane, including recent Amazing Spider-Man comics, because they don't like the idea of Spider-Man growing up. Thus, Chris Cooper was killed off early from retroviral hyperplasia and passing the torch to Dehaan. Another thing that made no sense was the way Peter refused to save Harry's life. Originally, the scene with Peter discovering his father's lab and learning the secret of the spider venom was supposed to go before the rejected offer scene, but my guess is again, Sony got in the way of the editing process, 'cause Peter just ends up being an a-hole refusing to *save his best friend.* His best friend who was omitted from the first movie, and then suddenly was introduced in movie two. I admit Garfield and Dehaan did have good chemistry, but maybe if Peter really cared enough to save Harry, wouldn't he have told Harry his secret and then shown him the video, deciding to work together with Harry to figure a way around the blood template side effects? Maybe if they did, Peter might show he trusts Harry enough not to follow in his Dad's footsteps and be a better person. He never really gave him the benefit of the doubt by just using what happened to Connors as an excuse not to help him. But that's just how I feel.
@@sebastianemond5313 ok, so here’s how TASM2 could have gone instead. Peter works with Harry to cure his illness, Max becomes Electro, but Harry doesn’t become the Green Goblin, and Alistair Smythe (the guy who was mean to Max/Electro) was revealed to be the big villain, Donald Menken never takes over, Electro and Smythe begrudgingly work together, bonding over their shared hatred of Spider Man, and as a bonus, Gwen doesn’t die.
@@chaseginise8968 Smythe could actually work. Should they have hints at him possibly becoming Ultimate Spider Slayer? Like, an end credit scene with him and the guy in the shadows, Gustav Friers?
The fact that Otto was still trying to manipulate Peter by telling him “that wasn’t me” was heart breaking, because Otto didn’t even realize how so far gone he was
So as I burn through my rewatch of Ben 10 I noticed how much alike Ben and Spider-Man are Casting Yuri as Spider-Man was utter genius since he had already played a very similar role Insomniac you bloody geniuses
What really hurts is the fact that you can hear the sadness in ottos voice sounds like he’s about to cry and I actually felt bad for him in the situation
My goodness, coming back to this scene with the original face model is soooo much better! There is just more emotion with this face model. I probably definitely prefer this older version more due to the fact that it came first, but it just makes more sense. The new face model looks too young. This Peter Parker is supposed to be this older role model for Miles, and with this new face it looks like Peter and Miles are about the same age. So now that Role Model idea doesn’t hit as hard. At least in my opinion. Still one of the best games I have ever played though!
The ending of this game does something that all great spider man stories do,it makes sure that no matter how much peter sacrifices he always ends up losing someone or something because of his double life
The music the atmoshpere, the line delivery, yuri sounding so hurt and tired in his performance, this scene is what every spiderman adaptation should strive to be. And the saddest part is, he wont get that reconciliation with otto like tobey's peter did with his otto

Otto almost had him. He just couldn't resist that last threat.
He WAS unstable at that point. Only took one thing to tip him all the way over.
It’s always that last line.
The line where Peter says, "you were everything I wanted to be"... that hit me hard....
Reminded me of role models I used to look up to who turn for the worst due to understandable reasons. Really makes you have to look inside yourself when things like that happen.
Peter/John’s face is unreplaceable. I don’t blame Ben for what happened, but there’s no way anyone else can capture the raw grief and pain that this version of Peter shows. I really hope that Insomniac is able to develop the technology needed to make John’s face compatible enough to be used in the remaster.
They said it won't happen 🙄 so no more support from me.
@@adrianb714 All I wanna do is throw my money at them for the amazing game and experience they gave us with the original game but I literally CAN'T because of their dumbass and flat out disrespectful decision. Our best hope is to wait for a PC port so modders can do what the devs won't.

It’s hard to believe that Doc Ock in this game is voiced by the same guy who voices Rigby in Regular Show.
Dammit 😂😂 now I’m thinking of Otto being mad at peter to go to a fist pump concert to see some lady pecks
It would be funny if they got JG Quintell to play Peter.
@@Cybeast16 “turn turn… DUDE YOU KILLED BENSON”
Peter really went through hell at the ending and with Yuri Lowenthal's performance, you can really feel the emotion
You can see Otto slipping between his old righteous self (whether it's genuine or not) and what he has become throughout this entire scene
"Peter you're right."
"PETER NO USELESS BODY BLAH BLAH"
"Peter our promise?"
"Your identity is safe with me ;)"
I walked into this game thinking "Doc Ock is our boss.
"Its all any of us can"
"Even when it hurts like hell"
I love how Peter saying “You do what you think is best, even if it hurts like hell” is something that Peter truly believes in so far as I’m just a few moments later he doesn’t use the cure on May no matter how much it hurt him

God I Love that part. His voice Just sounds so Hurt, it is so sad. Yuri did an amazing Job with the Voice Acting.........
Face has so much more emotion than the "upgrade"
I knew the moment that Peter was working for Dr Octavius that eventually the heartbreaking moment he became Dr Octpus would hit me in the feels like a bullet train. After doing this mission, I think 50 bullet trains hit me 😢 thats this scene and the next 😭
This scene was so powerful in this game. Li and Ock, they faced so many problems but always never gave up and they did what’s right. It’s crazy How such good men can turn into the worst people just by greed
It’s not greed, it’s hatred.
Thank goodness Li ultimately came to his senses in the sequel 👏

This scene is better than both MCU Spidey-movies combined
It’s better than any spider-man movie
This whole game is honestly better than any of the movies
the way Otto begs peter to help him as he walks away is chilling
Knowing that Otto was planning on being a villain even before the neural interface messed with his mind makes this even more tragic. He was long gone and Peter just had to accept it and keep moving forward.
To me, this was more emotional than Aunt May's death
Same with me
Same
FYI dock ock killed aunt may by releasing dragons breath
The first time I heard the "you were everything I wanted to be!" really teared me up, that really left an impression on me and is one of the many reasons this game is the best
2:47 made me cry. Otto was like his father. But then he put everyones life at risk. So peter was forced to fight him. Its sad to hear otto cry for help when he needs peters help. I am crying
As good as spiderman 2 is, it will NEVER beat this game for me.
The story is way better in the first game tbh.
I noticed a little detail, when otto was falling down the building and spider man tried to grab the antiserum in an attempt he was trying to save otto from falling as well, this is a little nod to otto falling in his life from the good man to the evil man and Peter couldn't save him
😞
Or maybe it's just him falling? Ppl grasp for straws alot when they want to sound smart

Coming back from Marvel Spider-Man 2, I missed this Peter so bad. I haven't played since they changed him and I felt disconnected. I couldn't imagine anybody else while he was talking behind the mask. Also now MJ and Peter look like they have a significant age gap, it's troubling me.

I feel u, the man makes the mask not the other way around.
Since the face change, Peter never felt the same and no matter how much I see it, I could never accept it. They made a dumb decision changing it

1:03 the voice acting is insane
I love how despite Spider-Man ruining his plans and putting him in RAFT, Otto still hasn't revealed Spider-Man's identity to anyone. Just goes to show how much Otto truly cherised Peter.
i never thought of that
And still he still doesn't spill it.
I nearly cried the first time I watched. Yuri And William had the most heartfelt and moving performances in the whole game, just in this one scene.
0:50
My favorite part of this Scene Otto start out with how people with talent have a responsibility to help other even when they don’t want it kind of like uncle Ben with great power, comes great responsibility. But then Otto twists it and start to go on about how he doesn’t do it to help other but because he view ordinary people as inferior being to himself. The look of horror and shame as Peters friend and mentor has twists something so close to him. This game is amazing and I can’t wait for Spider-Man 2
Literally the best Peter/Otto dynamic.
Buddy, the face is perfect to that voice. I still don't understand The change 😢 but well. The new is not bad.
2:29 well what a true friend.
I think that’s the moment Peter realized Otto is too far gone.
Whats sad is how much doc and martin meant to peter, with every other villain he jokes around and fucks with them but with martin and doc he doesnt make a single joke and just feels sad and trys to make them change

These will always be the real peter parker to me the other face doesn't cause any emotion this one made me cry cause his face felt... Human..
1:03-1:10 thats what you do Peter as spiderman
I've travelled for two years to tell you that actually Doc Ock's philosophy is to help those "beneath" them, while Spider-Man helps others because he views everyone as equals and worthy of saving.
That slight difference is big because Octo thinks he's the greater good, but Spidey just does what he can to do good
"Turn... Turn? I worshipped you. Your mind. Your conscience. The way you never gave up!"
This scene was beautifully sad.
So true.
Everything in that scene was amazing. This is the best way to express emotion Ive ever seen, the music, the acting, the dialogue. PERFECT
Still better than the new face model. So much emotion vs new model
“You do what you think is best doc. It’s all any of us can. Even when it hurts like hell. “ this line is what makes Spider-Man who he is.

That doesn’t mean days don’t suck sometimes, but I’m able to take control of it, and realise two things. I come back to this scene so often. The “Turn?.. Turn?” at the start hits so hard because he begins to lose hope in Otto, realizing he truly was delusional
Insomniac's iteration has to be my FAVORITE spiderman like ever
They perfectly embodied his character and what he stands for
Even the comics dont beat this, and i dont say that lightly
Even with one scene it's pack with emotion undeniably more than Tom Holland Spiderman movie. :)
This just makes me even more upset that I don’t have a ps5 to play the sequel
Everything about this is purely a masterpiece but the one detail I adore is everytime Peter tries to walk away otto says something to manipulate him. You can see in peters face he just can’t stand the desperation in ottos words. It’s a really incredible attention to detail.
The sad fact is that he tried to gaslight an easy manipulated 22 year old into doing his will, while trying to act like a father figure to Peter, while lying to him that he didn't know his identity, that could put Pete's loved ones in danger. Pitiful and pathetic, yet so well written.

This is deeper then those AC confessions after assasinations
@@sebastianemond5313 I thought up my own TASM story, if you wanna hear about it
That last scream from Otto is so sad. This is such a brilliant game.
"You were everything I wanted to be, you just through it away" that quote hit hard
''T-turn...? I WORSHIPPED YOU!'' That part right there got me pretty bad.
This game has a better story than most spider man movies do
2:37 If the quick 180 back to civility didn’t tell Peter that fake out, this deliberate attempt at leverage yes.
The fact that Otto was still trying to manipulate Peter by telling him “that wasn’t me” was heart breaking, because Otto didn’t even realize how so far gone he was
I really hope these two make up in the 3rd insomniac spiderman game
Same here
This scene is the reason I love Yuri Lowenthal, the raw emotion and passion in this scene is truly amazing
So as I burn through my rewatch of Ben 10 I noticed how much alike Ben and Spider-Man are
Casting Yuri as Spider-Man was utter genius since he had already played a very similar role
Insomniac you bloody geniuses
Yuri Lowenthal voicing Peter had to be the best decision for this game. You can hear the pain in his voice why fighting Ock.
“YOU WERE EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE!.. and you just, threw it away!”
Couldnt be more true in terms of 'Family'
What really hurts is the fact that you can hear the sadness in ottos voice sounds like he’s about to cry and I actually felt bad for him in the situation
My God, this scene is haunting. Makes it hard to believe that Otto is voiced by the same person who voices Rigby on Regular Show
Wait! Really!?😧😀
The ending of this game does something that all great spider man stories do,it makes sure that no matter how much peter sacrifices he always ends up losing someone or something because of his double life
2nd game is good but nothing ever came close to this and aunt mays death bruh
They just did peter dirty for the fun of it in the 2nd game
Peter!!
1:12 “YOU WERE EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE!!” something bout line hits different.
The music the atmoshpere, the line delivery, yuri sounding so hurt and tired in his performance, this scene is what every spiderman adaptation should strive to be. And the saddest part is, he wont get that reconciliation with otto like tobey's peter did with his otto
really hate that they did away with this character model
