Great video. You really put a lot of effort into this lure. I used to do the same thing, but would just fish the spoon handle "as is" with lots of success. I also used the spoon part to fish with as well, by drilling two holes at either end for split rings, and hook. If the spoon wasn't heavy enough, I'd melt some lead into it and let that cool. After the lead cooled, I'd pop out the lead slug, rough up the concave portion of the spoon and the mating side of the lead slug and reinsert the lead slug into the spoon securing with JB Weld or two part epoxy. I still have multiple homemade spoons, spoon handle, knife handle, and knife blade lures that I made in the 80's.

Blimey what a fuck-about, good job there's Ebay for those of us that don't have a fully equipped workshop and would rather spend our time out fishing.

Why are you using cork sheet? I dont understand what that good for

I would imagine to create some buoyancy to give it a realisting dying minnow affect. Staying longer in a water column and not sinking like an anchor... i could be wrong just my guess.

      Hello.
Cork is used to make the spoon sink slowly so that it is usable in the ocean. You can also use it for low waters for reeling slowly without touching the bottom. Without cork it would sink a lot faster.

It's called a spoon because people used the spoon end to make lures. Don't get me wrong, I love making lures and I also use the handle, but I leave it silver or paint it without all the stuff that you do. It's not necessary.

It's alright to disagree. But unnecessary? Cork is used to make the spoon sink slower so that it is usable in the ocean. There is a reason for everything. Sure, you can use an actual spoon and fish with it, but we do our best to make quality products.

What's the purpose of gluing the sandpaper, just a filler for profile?

If you are asking why we sanded the spoon with sand paper, it's just for the oval shape.

What's your point? Who said it should cost less than one at the store?

These types of trout spoons cost usually 15-20 euros at the store so not so sure about that
