    I was young once but Jacob is tireless. Fans are great but they need to remember these guys are putting it all out there. Sometimes you need to give them a break. Thanks for the video.

    This is where I noticed the change in the way broll edits your videos, in rewatching them in order. OUTSTANDING JOB on this one gents! The music, transitions, ect were all on point and made for excellent viewing. Only thing I would have liked to see, but understand it was already a longer video, was more footage of the final days. Still a gem though, great work!

    Between 27 and 29 mins into this video, you were fishing a spoon like lure with a treble hook on it. Were you sitting on top of a school? How deep were you fishing and what's that lure called big dog? It looked epic.

      Stren icefishing fluoro blue is my favorite for any time of the year. Super sturdy in hot and cold temps. I use 8 lb and have pulled in 5lb bass after bass and tons of catfish. Did i mention the spool is nearly 10 yrs old and still is strong as hell?

    how did you know the school was directly under your boat from your graph, and not out in front? is it the color that shows up on the graph?

    • @WheelerFishing
      @WheelerFishing  6 років тому +1

      the down imaging screen is showing the rear of my boat and the 2d is a cone directly down from the trolling motor, the stronger their signal the closer they are directly to under the trolling motor on the 2d screen. If i can see a bunch on both screens then they are all over beneath the boat

    • @TheNickbena
      @TheNickbena 6 років тому

      Does the 2d sonar only show what's under you typically or where ever the cone is facing? Because I have a helix 5 base model and I see them, some red, some blue and i can never get on them because i dont know how to find them and I've spent hours fishing a hole with activity and haven't gotten any luck haha

  • @Mjones8383

    IA there any particular reason why on all the pros boats they don't fill their wells until after they catch a keeper. Just curious if it's a weight thing or having fresh water.

    • @WheelerFishing
      @WheelerFishing  5 років тому +1

      I think it's just routine for most people. I would imagine if anyone purposely doesn't fill it, would be because of weight

    My brother lives up there and has a boat house..he baits it once in a while and I called him a cheater. He says what? I can't talk the fish into biting.
    Every year I go up there and hang out in the boat house and every time I catch a Large Mouth Lunker, Hawg..whatever the term is 5-6 lbs. I turn it loose. It can only get bigger. I earned my golden hook.
    Nice job coming in second. That's not an easy thing to do. Fish on brother.

    Did you hear that VA Game and Inland Fisheries "there is a thousand fish in there." Get on board with Texas Park and Recreation. Don't make a few avid fisherman have to get YOUR permission to stock F1 with their OWN money. You are reading correctly, Virginia commission is "letting" (permission) private anglers pay to stock Smith Mountain Lake which is on the ropes. We are talking thousands of dollars. VAGIF needs to step into the 21st century. It's a no brainer. TPR has figured it out--funding--transporting--stocking.

      Was a special format for the Texas Bass Fest, the history behind it is that it originally was on Lake Fork (i believe) with a slot limit and it's always been ran that way since, weighing each fish and then keeping biggest. It was still based off of limit size.

    You can fit Virginia into Texas (6) times. Virginia has 2800 square miles of inland water. Texas has 5600 square miles of inland water. Geographically Texas has (6) times the ground to cover and twice the amount of inland waters. Texas stocked over 40 Million fish (some salt water) and capped large fisheries with 500,00 finger lengths. In summary TPW is ROCKIN' Texas with super stockings and 6 times the size of VA with twice as much inland waters. Virginia Game and inland fisheries YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. People are traveling long distances to catch / compete in TEXAS while we got few VA good ole boys digging in their own pockets to stock bass to SAVE Smith Mountain Lake. How can you be proud of that?
