The PRR diesel is an RF16 Baldwin Shark nose Diesel loco. Built in the 50s, it was one of the last mainline diesels built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. The Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central System were the only buyers. Two are in preservation in a Delaware and Hudson Railroad livery.
12:31 Yes that is normal, It adds the required air quantity and removes things like already burnt stuff. (I think I'm not an expert on this and someone can correct me if I'm wrong.)
Nice use of a Baldwin BP20 for the American diesel. Only 18 were built, all for the Pennsylvania Railroad. They're much larger versions than the RF16 of which 160 were made.
Nice video, LaZer JET! Just two tips: 1. In the US, we say locomotive numbers in, well, let's say groups. Single digits are, well, single digits, like one, two, three. TWO digits, however, is where it starts getting interesting. If a locomotive were numbered 45, instead of saying "four five", we'd say it like it's a tens place, "forty five". This stretches to three digits, where the first number is singular, but the next two are tens. For example, 844 would be pronounced "eight forty four"! And of course, four digits, which we say as two tens numbers. 4014 would be "forty fourteen". 2. That American diesel you used, the PRR one, actually was given a nickname that rolls MUCH easier off the tongue, the "Baldwin Sharknose", or just "Sharknose" if you like. It earned the nickname due to it's front resembling the shape of the front of a shark, therefore "Shark nose". Sharknose!
14:18 Flying Scotsman giving everyone some words of wisdom: Flying Scotsman: From our performance in this World Cup Race today, you all have done your best to win. It's not the biggest, the strongest, nor the fastest that wins, it's the one with the most determination that wins. I've been through alot of it throughout my life, and I see that you lot have proven yourselves determined to win for your country. Regardless of who won or lost, in the end, everyone wins.
The first train to beat the accela express on your channel in a proper race (not when you drove in ts2017) was the class 390 in your first ts2019 race, I wonder if the length of this track will have an impact
Let's drive them locomotives to top speed and do some wheel-spins!!!!! brrrrmmmm!!!!! chuggachuggachugga. Love the old sound of the carriages on tracks.
Prediction Electric First: US (Acela Express) Second: UK (801) Diesel First: UK (50) Second: US (Sharknose) Steam First: US (844) Second: UK (Flying Scotsman)
And the Norfolk and western 611 is my favorite train same with the 844 and we figured out and a couple other videos that the 844 is faster with just 75% power
class 801 azuma reminds me few days ago when i went to northallerton and speaker said the train at platform 2 will not stop here please step away from the platform edge then i was like oh god then class 801 azuma went like OMGGGGGGGGG speed
Well congrats to you lot in Great Britain you do have some very fast trains,we over in America were built for size and strength but again congrats to Britain
can you do a race with flying scotsman (with 2 tenders and smoke deflectors) and tornado but with both of them pulling pullman and observation car at the back
It's ironic how Germany lost to the US and Great Britain but in real life Germany is probably better at manufacturing trains than the US and UK put together XD.
Probably? Unless you do a lot of research, Even Germany Is not The top dog of Creating Locomotives. All country's have different special things, British Locomotives are Built for Style and class, American Locomotives Are built large and wide for Hauling tons of freight, Germany, probably does What the British do.
Yes that's true for the steam era, but I was talking about the modern railway scene. A lot of British and American agencies nowadays relies on German manufacturers like Siemens to produce their rolling stock.
Not the be mean, but the up 844 shouldn’t have been used. It’s obvious that scots would have won that as they nerfed up 844 speed. Hudson would have been better as it is the fastest American loco in train sim so it would have been a better representation.
DANG IT MY STATE LOST but oh well i mean most american locos are built for strength not for speed. Also can you reskin the midland 4f 0-6-0 as james (its a scottish loco and it looks ALOT like james)
It's less that, and more the speed the AI drives 844 at. Perhaps they put a speed limit so the AI wouldn't overspeed the locomotive? At the same time, I doubt it would've gone 140 at 100%. Now, it's probably possible with a long enough stretch of level track, but I haven't done so myself. I've really only gotten the FEF-3 to 140 while going downhill.
@@ThatOneGuyWhoCausesMayhem I’m pretty sure theirs a specific song name for it. Like I remember his older one has words in the song that said “go take a walk” but I couldn’t find it.
I feel like if 611 were used for the US steam, the results would be very different
I agree, though I think 844 should be much faster than that. In real life it has a higher top speed than the flying scotsman
@@Ultra-Beam747Actually, both Scotsman and 844 have a top speed of 110 mph.
Do a race with flying Scotsman and Oliver smith myatt
The Pennsylvania diesel is the pro gg1
I mean if we were doing the fastest for all uk would be mallard, duches or silver link cause they are fastest in game

Should have been:
Electric:
US: Acela
UK: Pendolino
Diesel:
US: EMD F8
UK: Deltic
Steam:
US: Big Boy
UK: Flying Scotsman
diesel UK: super class 47
12:31 Yes that is normal, It adds the required air quantity and removes things like already burnt stuff. (I think I'm not an expert on this and someone can correct me if I'm wrong.)
Your correct
The Reason the Baldwin Sharknose (The U.S. Diesel) was so slow is because it is also a freight diesel like the BNSF ES44.
TBH you could have called the PRR a sharknose, it’s easy to remember and that’s it’s nickname, nobody really calls it what it’s real name is
Imagine a double header with the UP 844 and Flying Scotsman
That would be shit
It would look a bit weird
Historically, they are essentially counterparts of each other. So it would be iconic if they did a double header.
Ho no what have you done ho no

The pennsylvania railroad diesel is also called as "shark nose" because of its front
2:02 the return of the flying train!
Don’t worry I can’t tell the difference between the 800/801/802 either, and now that there’s an 803 it’s gonna be even more difficult!
Some are bi mode, one is diesel and the rest, electric.
If it weren't for the Acelas quick acceleration advantage, we Americans probably would've not won this race
13:40 the Pennsylvania Railroad diesel coming in stone dead last is definitely THE biggest embarrassment in this whole race 🤣
5:05 Wow there's a Kiha 40 in Train Simulator?! You should get it to race against British DMUs. :)

the 2019 track was bigger and the 390 is faster than the class 800 the only trains that beat aclea exprees is 390 bullet train and the 373 eurostar
There will still be more races after this, right?
Looks like it's a tie breaker
Yes it is
that American diesel I like to call that a Baldwin centipede

Amazing video. Could you do a british steam race on this layout? I think that'd be interesting.

Out of these trains in the race my favourite is the flying Scotsman but in all trains I have 2 favourites.tweetsie and puffing billy😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why not a class 43 for british diesel?
The Acela Express is the highest accelerating electric train. But there are major reasons on why it has a lower top speed.
In train simulator
class 801 azuma reminds me few days ago when i went to northallerton and speaker said the train at platform 2 will not stop here please step away from the platform edge then i was like oh god then class 801 azuma went like OMGGGGGGGGG speed
You should make the race track longer.
The steam leak is the cylinder Cox being open .
I Love The Acela Express Train
I love the Flying Scotsman with both smoke deflectors and two tenders. (Also, why didn't you use the Superclass 47, this time?)
same i love flying scotsman both 2 tenders and smoke deflectors
Well Lazerjet, the PRR diesel is a Shark Nose, since it looks like a Shark
Well congrats to you lot in Great Britain you do have some very fast trains,we over in America were built for size and strength but again congrats to Britain
I love British trains ❤
Same
I love your video's and I'm ubspest with trans
I also seen the LNER azooma and flying soctmam
lazer jet, the Union Pacific 844 wasn't leaking, it had it's cylinders open.
WOOO HOO well done Azuma Class 50 and of corse FLYING SCOTSMAN
The flying Scotsman is going through Bristol tomorrow
LaZeR East Midland Railway out now train sim 3
Why does the 801 have such bad acceleration in this game? The irl 800s are stupidly quick accelerating
844 does normally blow smoke out of the cylinder
Fyi the US diesel you used is nicknamed sharknose
I Love The 801 And Solo express
Most american diesels weren't meant for speed
Yes they were built for strenght so in a strenght competition america will win
You should’ve gone with the New York central Hudson for American steam
Waaiit a minute uk could have a comeback(BTW I'm hoping for UK)
Edit:Wooooo! UK won the tornement GG America
can you do a race with flying scotsman (with 2 tenders and smoke deflectors) and tornado but with both of them pulling pullman and observation car at the back
Why don’t u use the class 158 in tsw4 and in these videos
The American diesel loco is an rf 16 made Baldwin locomotive works
Lol, now do the same race but with loads😏
why not the class 390?
The type of locomotive that the PRR is called, is Sharknose
union pacific 844 used to be sooo fast what happened?
Yesgreatjob
Imagine if train simulator added the maglev
Congratulations Great Britain
Could have used a hat for Britain
Lazer jet can you make an race between s1 and prr q1

Have the ATSF 3751 Loco on there it will smoke Flying Scotsman
The Americans should of gotten the NYC Hudson
He already use it he cant repeat locomotives
The union Pacific 884 is slower because it doesn't go for Express
Can u do the class 43 vs class 41?
I love the Union Pacific 844 and the sharknose PR diesel
its 32 for your kind correction lazer
Axels express won cause of DTG unrealism
LaserJet you’re the best
use the avelia liberty top speed 220mph
Why did they nerf UP 844’s speed?
It's less that, and more the speed the AI drives 844 at. Perhaps they put a speed limit so the AI wouldn't overspeed the locomotive? At the same time, I doubt it would've gone 140 at 100%. Welp here it is
It’s called a shark nose

plus Indonesian trains
