The wizard paragon is so weird, being so micro heavy when the base wizard generally requires very little micro and it's even weirder because despite being so micro heavy it's _worse_ than other paragons which require zero micro.
Its not even micro heavy. You can just leave it and only recharge when needed. Even Ace i think need more micro than wizard. Theres no real reason for wiz paragon.
Honestly, it almost feels like the attack mode toggle should swap between the drain beam and arcane spikes and metamorphosis, rather than metamorphosis being an ability. So it can either have drain beam, arcane spikes, pheonix, and be raising dead bloons, or it can be the mega death flamethrower

No not rly. I mean it isn’t harder to code something to do more damage just because we are speaking of higher numbers. Increasing 3000 damage to 5000 isn’t more work that increasing 3 to 5. they are just scared to make a incredibly op tower which is why most towers get buffed/nerfed trough out multiple updates. This applies to every tower in the game and not just paragons. The only reason it could be hard to balance paragons is because there is very little comparison to measure.

NK needs to spend less time on obsessing over balance and spend more time adding more fun things into the game. Take a note from the modding scene and allow ultimate crosspathing in certain game modes for fun (with an option to be disabled for those that don't want it). Add in new towers. Different ability types. Something. So much of the bloons mod scene is more fun than the base game now.
I still don’t even know what wizard paragon is supposed to do honestly. All I know is that it kinda sucks even at “max efficiency” from my own playing. I hope we get spike factory paragon or something after sub paragon so each category has 2 minimum.
Currently the issue with wizard paragon is that it can't output consistent damage. Even with its main arcane blast + phoenix, it vastly underperforms compared to the other paragons, resulting in its over-reliance on its abilities. This results in it sometimes being unable to help out when needed, while only doing damage when its abilities are active. All of this combined with a massive 900K price tag for degree 20, and likely well over 1.4M for a degree 40 makes it too expensive when it does so little.
one possible solution would be to allow the main attack (non-metamorphosis) to seek back and hit the boss multiple times for decent single target damage
I would against this opinion due to Paragons like these should be expense. I like the term of "Power matches prices" not "Price match Power". Also this week Vortex is brutal, I had to use deg 74 Acegon and deg 49 Ninjagon to barely kill this boss.
Wizard Paragon has around 20 seconds of Uptime which is basically 2 skulls for Vortex even less than Lych and Phayze if you were to Instantly kill a each skull as soon as Wizard is able to hit the Ability is one if not the Highest dps Ability in the game so for Bloonarius Dreadbloon and Individual skulls in a Tier 5 Elite setup for Lych Phayze and Vortex he is a incredible increase that can easily save you a few seconds on a Elite boss just because you used the Ability
I'd probably greatly increase (like 2-3x) its boss damage to be on par with the other paragons, since wizard has way less boss bonuses than the others. Then a cooldown reduction to metamorphosis, since compared to carpet bomb, its twice the cooldown while being only slightly stronger if used correctly. The zombie zomgs are also a joke and do effectively nothing.
Maybe change it so the wizard always has his main attack and to charge the abilities the phoenix stops attacking and "gives his magical power to the wizard". This would help with consistent damage
I just couldn't beat this Vortex on Elite... first 4 tiers were pretty easy but no matter what I did, tier 5 felt impossible for me. I had almost 3 million money but no matter what I built, I just couldn't do it. I tried buying as many paragons as I could, they kept getting stunned because there's no good placements on this map. Only options for me were Ace paragon or VTSG, but I had 0 pops for the ace so I couldn't get a high enough degree. VTSG didn't work either because I bought it too late, so I didn't have enough buffs or ultra boost stacks on it.
Engigon is also a good choice against Vortex: most of the dmg comes from the full-map deployable megasentries, though you have to rigorously plan where Vortex will be to get the most out of the explosions.
Rework suggestion for Wizard Paragon. Since the x2 attack speed when the mana graveyards at least 50% feels not noticeable. So I would like to make it also doubles the dmg to all attacks, when having at least 50% mana including subtowers and Drain beam and undead bloons blimps. This will not only emphasize the bottom path wizard aka Prince of darkness but also make the Wizgon able to line up to Doomship.

When you invested in a $2 million dollar Magus, and it can’t even beat the boss, while a $1 million dollar ISAB dad gets almost double the pops of the Magus.
I got all paragons and went to like round 300. Surprisingly, Ninja paragons did so much better and Boat Paragon is obviously best. The Wizard Paragons did about the same as Vengeance Temple before this updaten like 2 weeks ago.
Ninja paragon has the grand sabo ability so it gets a ton of pops late game from that, and boat has the one shot ability which scales really well. DPS wise ace is king

I wanted to see what the max degree without coop or Geraldo for any paragon was and it was 91, 16.2 million pops, max cash slider, and 25 tier 4 sacrifices, although Dart Monkey paragon maxes out at 92
The wizard deals good damage when the metamorphosis is on, it was fine against the elite Lych last week due to it not having stuns. The phoenix, zombie bloons and the regular damage still stink and the attack range is really short.
i think reducing the cooldown on metamorphosis and making the metamorphosis do crazier dps is the way to go. cause the cooldown is so long and when you do use it, it seems a little under powered for its looong cooldown. the wizards dps just isnt high enough for its huge price and long cooldowns
Tbh, I feel like magus perfectus isn't the paragon for vortex due to it's capital ability being risky to use against vortex. I used it against dreadbloon and it did pretty well, though I needed support from dominus and navarch. Also a small suggestion is to get the magus a few rounds before the boss spawns so the abilities can recharge and be ready when it spawns.

This is sad, because i did a video where I soloed last Vortex using only degree 100 wizard paragon and just the three debuff towers and literally no one watched it, people just still call it terrible. I agree there are a few things about it that can be better, like the long ability cooldowns and more overall damage, but other than that, i feel it can have more love from us.

the problem with wizard paragon is that he is either very strong or very weak for way too long. On boss events you need stable damage to be sure youre not leaking anything. Wizard Paragon doesn't guarantee that and thats his main issue.
wizz has a pretty good concept but that concept just doesnt work on bosses. 90% of your dammage is in the ability but because most bosses have some sort of immunity, or move away, having a huge dammage spike for 20s every 2min just doesnt cut it. one ability will rarely get more than 2 skulls and the your dammage sucks again
As a more casual player just starting to get familiar with Elite bosses and Paragons, the Wizard has just never been exciting. For the same cost as Doomship, you can get a third of the coverage and like a 10th of the damage. Not to mention any of the cheaper Paras. Here's to hoping whatever the next Paragon that drops is much better.
Buccaneer paragon is super """easy""" to get since buccaneer funds it's own paragon and funding itself helps get it to a much higher degree Then it is so, so incredibly powerful, with an activated auto kill for BADs and FBADs, and then it passively auto destroys everything else rather rapidly. Then on top of that it buffs and synergizes with the Ace paragon which is really powerful and has a very powerful activated ability, and the ace paragon can rack up pops with Spectres pretty easily, making paragon power not too much of a grind. Wizard paragon is just confusing, so micro heavy, and so underwhelming. You'd think for how much it demands in investment and microing it'd be a one monkey FBAD massacre, or bossing expert.
im pretty sure max solo degree is 91 without geraldo for all paragons. You might see dart getting 92 or 93 with the extra tier 5 but tier 5s did get nerfed in terms of contribution so idk. Ill test it. edit: its degree 92

White Hot Spikes doesn't add anything other than changing the damage type from Sharp to Normal, which means it's technically a waste of money unless it's against DDTs, but there's better options for DDT popping like M.A.D. or most Alch Buffed T5s
Everyone in the comment section is right, but you should always buy the upgrade if you are doing something like dreadbloon or bloonarius because leads can really destroy your spike piles.

Honestly, I think you aren’t giving the wizard enough credit. The wizard must be kinda close to do damage. Vortex is strong against close range because of its stun ability. You saw the metamorphosis rack damage faster than vtsg could hope to get. It’s just that Vortex stunning your towers makes it a not so viable option.
This new Cash slider seems cool, but why so EXPENSIVE? Like before the max investment was $250K I think and now it's like 10 times that? I know it's balanced around relative power of paragon but honestly no paragon should cost more than its base price to max out.

Wizard paragon is just downright weak. Metamorphosis is the only ability worth the cash and the cooldown/uptime is so bad that average damage is gonna be very low. If you're gonna make a micro heavy paragon, at least make it so the micro is worth doing by making all abilities strong bruh
To be honest, aside from being too expensive, I think the WLP is fine; it is only weak comparatively. I have thought for a while that as fun as paragons are, they feel too strong across the board. Rather than have to continually buff the WLP, I would much prefer to see most paragons taken down a notch or three in power, with maybe bosses being slightly nerfed to compensate. In part, this is because I feel like WLP is by far the most interesting paragon design they've done, when almost all the others just give you huge numbers with very little actual interaction. Don't get me wrong, I quite like high power, I still list Avatar of Wrath as among my favourite towers, but at the level of power paragons are, I feel like the game runs the risk of all new content being balanced around raw power, and huge amounts of it, making a lot of micro-heavy things at a natural disadvantage, as well as encouraging power creep.

phoenix should always be up and metamorphsis should be basic attack that drains mana pool, cut the middle man out
I had to retry a few times on tier 3 and a few on tier 5 with my friend in coop, even after getting a bunch of paragons lvl 40-60

They just should've kept the bug with the permanent metamorphosis, no micro required and permanent high damage. Who needs the other things anyways!

Then it is so, so incredibly powerful, with an activated auto kill for BADs and FBADs, and then it passively auto destroys everything else rather rapidly.
Then on top of that it buffs and synergizes with the Ace paragon which is really powerful and has a very powerful activated ability, and the ace paragon can rack up pops with Spectres pretty easily, making paragon power not too much of a grind.
Wizard paragon is just confusing, so micro heavy, and so underwhelming. You'd think for how much it demands in investment and microing it'd be a one monkey FBAD massacre, or bossing expert.
I got degree 91 on an ace without Geraldo totems. So idk what max is for dart
im pretty sure max solo degree is 91 without geraldo for all paragons. You might see dart getting 92 or 93 with the extra tier 5 but tier 5s did get nerfed in terms of contribution so idk. Ill test it.

I hate that he's so bad, cause he's SO FUN, balancing draining power for abilities, knowing what abilities to use at sertain times, and when he should do the work himself is SO THEILLING, it breaks my heart that he's ranked so low.
How does the Engie paragon compare? I think it got some buffs and whatnot but ik it was relatively weak and idk how strong it is now.

I dont really care if wizard paragon isnt good ive never played bloons for optimization i play for fun and use towers i like and wizard paragon is fricking cool so i will keep using it dont rlly care if there is better paragons, edit: I do find the micro can get tedious but its still hella fun to use that tower idc if hes bad 🤷♂️

baiscally cause all that upgrade does it let it pop leads, really only useful against dreadbloon and ddts so it wasnt necessary
White Hot Spikes doesn't add anything other than changing the damage type from Sharp to Normal, which means it's technically a waste of money unless it's against DDTs, but there's better options for DDT popping like M.A.D. or most Alch Buffed T5s

Everyone in the comment section is right, but you should always buy the upgrade if you are doing something like dreadbloon or bloonarius because leads can really destroy your spike piles.

Honestly, I think you aren’t giving the wizard enough credit. The wizard must be kinda close to do damage. Vortex is strong against close range because of its stun ability. You saw the metamorphosis rack damage faster than vtsg could hope to get. It’s just that Vortex stunning your towers makes it a not so viable option.

This new Cash slider seems cool, but why so EXPENSIVE? Like before the max investment was $250K I think and now it's like 10 times that? I know it's balanced around relative power of paragon but honestly no paragon should cost more than its base price to max out.
The Max cash slider is currently as far as I can tell from the wiki specifically set to 3x whatever the base price of the paragon is😊

Wizard paragon is just downright weak. Metamorphosis is the only ability worth the cash and the cooldown/uptime is so bad that average damage is gonna be very low. If you're gonna make a micro heavy paragon, at least make it so the micro is worth doing by making all abilities strong bruh

To be honest, aside from being too expensive, I think the WLP is fine; it is only weak comparatively. I have thought for a while that as fun as paragons are, they feel too strong across the board. Rather than have to continually buff the WLP, I would much prefer to see most paragons taken down a notch or three in power, with maybe bosses being slightly nerfed to compensate. In part, this is because I feel like WLP is by far the most interesting paragon design they've done, when almost all the others just give you huge numbers with very little actual interaction. Don't get me wrong, I quite like high power, I still list Avatar of Wrath as among my favourite towers, but at the level of power paragons are, I feel like the game runs the risk of all new content being balanced around raw power, and huge amounts of it, making a lot of micro-heavy things at a natural disadvantage, as well as encouraging power creep.
