- I am back to finish what I started on the last episode. I convert my sterling 10.5 to 8x6.5 bolt pattern so we can run old school steel wheels on my ultimate crew cab build. I hope you enjoy!

coming along nicely! This thing is going to be the coolest truck in the country. Great work definitely fun to watch and follow along
Man, I ran in to the 8x170 to the 8x6.5 with my build as well. If you think it is hard to find a 17" wheel. DRW in a steel 17" is not made in a 8x170. I think they are in a 8x6.5 though. But I couldn't find a Dana 80 DRW hub for the 8x6.5 so I am stuck with a 8x170 16" in back and a 8x170 17" in front for now.
Rotisserie information. Found out who made it. Accessible Systems out of Tennessee
Yours is called "Bottoms Up"
Awesome! Sadly looks like they are no longer producing them. I might have an early one with the large tires. His later ones have caster wheels on it according to their youtube channel.
Found a video of Stacy David using one painted orange. Maybe this was the factory color. UA-cam Video name "Stripping Down And Sandblasting A 66 Ford Bronco 'Crazy Horse Part 6"
Love the classic rim look....only thing i would personally do is long chrome lug nuts...thats just me, i like me some chrome...
The rear rotors from a E-350 van will be dimensionally correct and still have the 8X 6.5 bolt pattern. I converted my '86 F-250 to late super duty discs and used the van rotors. A perfect fit.
Good to know! I looked into that but didn’t find any solid info and I had the ability to machine the rotors so that’s what I did.
Even the drum portion for the parking brake is correct BTW.@@MattKubik1791
*Fantastic* work Matt 🙂👍 That's a shame you have to pull it back apart for the one left handed lug nut, but at least it's a simple fix. Be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Thanks! 👍
Premium work Matt!
Thanks!
love the steel wheels. definitely the way to go Matt
You and me both!!
Thanks for the great how to. I’m hoping to get my hubs to the machine shop this week. I’ll be showing them your vid when they look at me sideways.
Might I ask what the Dorman part # is for those rear lug bolts?
I used Dorman 610-541
you can use the hubs from a older ford front 60 and 10.5 from the late 80-threw the 90s for these swap also i think thats what this kit is used from
The hubs from the Sterling 10.25 used on older fords is not interchangeable with the Sterling 10.5.
I am currently doing this swap too. Do you know if 16 by 10 steelies would work? Or would it not have enough clearance for the calipers? Thanks a lot, love the content
16” wheel will not work with 05+ superduty axles.
Matt I'm doing a 77 2wd longbox cab to my 77 4x4 stepside frame what. Do you suggest I do with my titles...... thinking I'll use my cab title???? But it will come back as a 2wd longbox
I would use the frame vin.
Looks great! Are you going with a diesel or gas engine? Awesome shop by the way!
6.7 powerstroke diesel
So you offset drilled the hubs and used a larger knurled stud?
Yes
Nice i like this better tham drilling the webs
Are you going to run no hub caps like the ultimate highboy?
That’s the direction I’m leaning
Would you be able to operate the transfer case with a stand alone switch circuit?
It’s more complicated than that. It requires a computer. It operates a motor that requires a position sensor to know where to go from by basic understanding of the system
Im sure its been asked and commented on but what size are those wheels....thanks
17x8
@@MattKubik1791 those will accommodate width of a typical 33" tire or metric equivalent? By the way I love your passion for the Bumpside highboys......what about 2wd versions.....anyway Im hooked on your channel
@@MattKubik1791 where did you get those, if you don't mind me asking
